13 best things to do in Jakarta after dark - SilverKris

"Housed inside the city's second-oldest building with a strong 19th-century colonial-era atmosphere, this long-standing café in the north-west corner of Fatahillah Square stays open until around midnight or 1am on different nights and is known for live music, people-watching and walls full of iconic pictures and posters." - SilverKris

Love it currently sat here after having finished our meal and waiting for the drinks! Everything was great and atmosphere was superb! My best meal so far in Indonesia. Service was absolutely fantastic, Apprillia was brilliant! Would definitely recommend for people to visit this place. Prices are reasonable and the music is lovely

Café Batavia is such a unique restaurant with its authentic Dutch colonial building — it really feels like stepping back in time! The whole atmosphere gives you that nostalgic charm you can’t find anywhere else. Their cakes are delicious and properly made — definitely not disappointing. The price is a bit on the higher side, but totally worth it for the food and the one-of-a-kind vibes. ☕🍰🇮🇩

Café Batavia is a must-visit when exploring Jakarta Old Town. Once colonised by the Dutch, Jakarta Old Town has preserved its charming 17th century architecture and Café Batavia carries that same timeless vibe. ❤️ We stepped into a beautifully decorated space with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the perfect dose of natural sunlight. The menu is extensive and the food is so good. “This is the best Mie Goreng that I’ve tasted,” says me. The springy egg noodle is fried to perfection and not oily at all. I’m still thinking of the Mie Goreng now. 🥹 #tiramisoooo #tramisoooojiaks #jiakjiakjiak #cafebatavia #jakarta #indonesiafood #miegoreng #jakartaoldtown

The food was really good, and for someone visiting from Europe, it felt very cheap. You can smoke on the first floor, but it didn’t smell smoky at all. We waited about 10 minutes for the food, though it was Monday and there weren’t many people. The desserts were also delicious and made right there. The staff were super friendly and spoke good English. We came back about an hour later after a walk, they called us a taxi and even walked us to the car.

"It's a must to stopped by" if you're in kota tua. The place is beautiful. Food is amazing. I had the best ox tongue and lychee tea there. Oxtail soup and latte is good as was. Very busy. Better make reservation beforehand to make

Loved my visit to Café Batavia! The ambiance is timeless — a beautiful colonial-style building filled with character and history. The food and drinks were excellent, with great presentation and rich flavors. Service was warm and professional, making the whole experience feel special. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed meal while soaking in the old-town charm of Kota Tua. Definitely a must-visit when in Jakarta.

Great experience overall! The historic ambiance is charming, and the staff are friendly and speak English well. Loved every single dish we ordered—delicious and well-presented. Only downside: the ice cream portion was huge for just two people. Still, highly recommended!

Amazing experience. Tasty food. Excellent service. My server spoke great English and gave really good recommendations of food and drink selection. I went there Saturday night and had almost no one in the restaurant. Everyone was nice and polite. Great live music with free one song request for the band. I will definitely come back again next time I'm in Jakarta. Highly recommend!
