This place is it! Amazing staff, unique vibe, great beer, and good music and a part of history! Even if you are by yourself in Brussels, if you go here and sit by the bar, you will end your night with some amazing friends.

I play at multiple jams every week, sharing the stage with international, talented musicians. If you're a decent musician and wanna have a good time, avoid the Monday jam. Don't get me wrong, you may stumble in the occasional good evening. But the truth is: You'll likely be pestered by a whole load of stage-hogging guitarists who are absolutely clueless to the principle of making music together. You'll likely not hear what the others are playing, because there are no monitors and the speakers are in front of you, so all you get is this muffled bassy sound. You'll also be scolded for not being a good sport by obnoxious feel-good jam owners who will kick the best musician off stage in favour of the habitués! I tried to go today after a two year break, for the very same reasons I just stated, and I got home realising things got even worse. Not cool at all! How about setting up a couple of small monitors? Why do you think musicians keep putting their volume up? Perhaps because they cannot hear themselves? A note of appreciation for the owners who are nice and always had a smile for me.

Easily one of the best bars in Brussels with a great choice of beverages. Even better when they have live blues & jazz jam sessions. Great service ...order your drink upstairs from the tallest bar tender in Brussels and you'll see what I mean.

Went on a night with live music night with improvisation. It was free to enter and full of music passion. Enjoyed my night a lot and, as I could see, many more people around us. Beers are good as well. Bar tenders were on a level with the performers and locals.

Absolutely wonderful. Interior decoration is fabulous. It's one of the only places I know that serve draft triple Chimay.

Yelp
I love that place! Small bar with a lot of good mood, good choice of drinks, funky concept of concert tickets on the ceiling. Nice service. Stay open late and are a bit flexible if you go over the official hour... Only thing is that it's often overcrowded on certain week-ends, but overall always a great place to go to with friends to have a drink, no matter when.

Yelp
Cafe Bizon is a great little bar with a great selection of Belgian beer and general liquor. We initially stopped here to begin a night of pub hopping because of its proximity to the Marriott, but ended up staying for several hours and returning each night throughout our stay in brussels. The service was great, they take credit cards with chips, and the selection/prices were unbeatable. The interior is cozy and classic, with a large buffalo head perched above the bar. While bar service is only downstairs on slow nights, I highly recommend sitting upstairs where there are several small tables with benches hanging from the wall. The tables overlook the bar area below. Contrary to a previous review, while the music and atmosphere can become loud on the weekends, we never had an issue hearing each other in conversation. They played great music throughout the night. Overall, cafe Bizon is highly highly recommended as one of my favorite bars visited throughout my travels. Great beer, great prices, great people, great music, great interior, and overall great time.

Yelp
Came here because of a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed! Bartenders (only 2) were surprisingly fast and attentive given that it was decently busy. There was a Canadian jazz singer who was quite good. The paintings and the overall aesthetic of the bar are very fun, and it was a nice place to hang out for some drinks. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this enjoyable hole in the wall. Great beer selection. Packed with people chatting, and very friendly bartenders. Great find!

Yelp
Nice place with live music! The bartenders are friendly and quick with service. We happened to listen to a Canadian blues singer who was pretty good and enjoyed some local beers.

Yelp
Good live music on the first floor, additional seating up top, tables out front as well. This place can get packed, so expect to wait a bit for a drink. Unique decor with a divey vibe and local clientelle.

Yelp
Muito bom, excelente serviço e tiragem da cerveja, uma oportunidade para experimentar a rara Westvleteren. Trilha sonora impecável! Vale a pena conferir!

Yelp
This place is comfortable, as well as unique and funky. The beer selection was extensive, and definitely represented Belgium well, and the bartenders were very helpful. It was here that I was introduced to Westvleteren, which you should try if you haven't. Ignore the price tag. Have 1 bottle. It's a defining moment in beer drinking.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Café Bizon after a wonderful meal at Le Fin de Siècle and we just wanted a laid back, non touristy bar to enjoy a beer. The decor is brilliant gentrified warehouse style with brick walls and exposed rafters (at least that's what I'd call it in Vancouver. Here? Maybe it has a better description). The tap selection was so-so, with a good bottled beer selection typical of Belgium. We sat at the small table upstairs near the window with a small park bench and chair to drink our pilsner beers - it reminded me a lot of sitting upstairs at Vesuvio in North Beach, San Francsisco, one of my favourite bars in North America. That was my first hint at how much I would enjoy this place. Gradually I relaxed into the atmosphere, appreciating the "We love American culture but we ARE Belgian" attitude of the place. What really sealed the deal was the decision to sample some of the "oude jenever", something I had never had before. The brick walls, low ceiling, beams covered with old concert tickets, window overlooking the street... it all came together to a pinnacle of "I LIKE this place". We went back the second night (a Wednesday) and there was a guy playing folk rock songs on acoustic guitar downstairs, reinforcing the "We love American culture but we ARE Belgian" attitude. This time the bar was much more crowded with locals and the oude jenever was hitting the spot. If you're looking for a comfortable non-touristy bar in Brussels that's slightly off the beaten path, this is well worth the visit (especially for their selection of jenever :).

Yelp
This place I do like: the old feel of the place is great, as is the curious set-up with the bar you can look down upon from the top floor, though the music is often too loud for having a chat.

Yelp
It the old days when people were allowed to smoke inside this place was so smoky that if you didn't smoke you'd have to leave. Now it's better. Still has that ambience of that smoky bar around the corner, dark, winterish, blues feel. nice gritty bar.
