"Café Bryggjan offers a cozy retreat in southwest Iceland, known for its self-serve lobster soup with freshly baked bread. It's a favorite stop for travelers needing to refuel and warm up while exploring the region."
Charming place! Limited menu due to reopening after the eruption but they did it right. The Lobster Soup is amazing and unlimited. A few sandwich options and of course hotdogs! Help revitalize this cool little fishing town by stopping some place other than the Blue Lagoon.

Gorgeous heritage building in the harbour at Grindavík. Delicious lobster soup made even better by having fishing boats outside the window. Great option for a simple, quick and tasty lunch in an incredible part of Iceland

Possibly the best lobster soup in Iceland, it's beautifully spiced and comes with two servings per purchase. A perfect cure for cold days or damp weather.

Delicious and authentic food. The lobster soup is a must have! Food is fresh, staff is nice. Plenty of seating. Restaurant is located in the third floor. Soup is self serve, and comes with bread and butter. Highly recommend for a non-touristy, authentic location.

I visited in January for lunch
They had a deal on the soup of the day
It was lobster soup. It was delicious and kept the cold at bay.
This place is worth visiting for the atmosphere. You could imagine wobbling off a North Atlantic trawler that had been your stormy home for weeks, coming in here and being absolutely content.
I also recommend the toasted cheese sandwich.

This little cafe is right by the ocean. When we were here local fishermen were inside having some coffee. We had read several positive reviews so we were here early in the morning and the soup had just been made. The female owner is super nice and offered to charge us for one lobster and one lamb soup knowing we were trying both with our refills (the lamb is cheaper). The inner decor has lots of fishing memorabilia and a list of captains with the largest catches by year before the quota was imposed. So relaxing sitting inside watching the ocean. The lobster soup was rich and creamy although a tad light on the lobster. The lamb soup came stuffed with lamb meat and hearty vegetables. My wife and I drank tea and coffee and she raved it was the best coffee she had ever drank. That impressed me being that she lived in Brazil and is used to great coffee. The bread we ate had just been baked and melted in our mouths. Earthy and hearty bread. Overall and great experience and with the free soup refills a great value.
