We love this place! We have come for 3 mornings in a row, everything is fresh and tastes wonderful. We get the pancakes and avocado toast with various toppings and a cappuccino and Shanghai chai which was the best I've had so far. Definitely worth a try!)

Google
Came here to use the restroom, reserved for paying customers, before our Colosseum tour so we ordered a Margherita pizza and some drinks. The pizza was worse than frozen pizzas. Price was dirt cheap. Service was prompt and very friendly.

If you're looking for an American style brunch place in Rome, this one is pretty close. We stopped by after walking the Coliseum and thus looked to be the least touristy of the cafes. Plus we wanted breakfast. It doesn't have the extensive selection of a full scale breakfast place (or omelettes) but the Croque Madame (looked like an open-faced sandwich with sunny side up egg and ham) was pretty good. My husband ordered the scrambled eggs which was also fine. Very good value for the price. The place is small so not a place for a long meal. Best if you just want a quick bit and coffee.

Google
2 minute walk from where we were staying. Nice little place with excellent coffee and breakfast options. Had the croque monsieur and waffle with Nutella and fruit. Cappuccino and double latte fantastic as expected.

All of the employees were extremely kind. The atmosphere is great and the food was just amazing. The waffles are a highlight, so yummy, we ended up ordering two more after our first two. I also did a build your own sandwich with turkey and mozzarella, it was so very good. I loved the bread and that it was warm, plus, it came with a side of salad. We loved going here, wish I could go again!

Google
Some of us from a tour group were looking for a bathroom with the added benefit of food and drink and were so lucky to find this place. Because we came in around 1:30 or 2pm, it wasn't busy, we were all able to sit at one table, and everything was delicious. Grazie!

Google
This place is a typical tourist attraction. The café near Colloseo offers absolutely nothing special. Despite the very cramped space and the inability to move, the food is absolutely terrible. Eggs not seasoned, chopped tomatoes like at home after a hangover and coffee without taste or strength. I don't know what I expected, but definitely not that below average.

Mavi Rosskopf

Google
The food was surprisingly good. The fresh fruit smoothies are also very tasty. The decoration of the place doesn’t do justice to the food and friendly staff. Prices were reasonable given it’s very close to the Colloseum.

Yelp
Sure, it's close to the colosseo and some of the menu items are definitely geared towards trying to incentivize tourists, but the food tasted incredible and was very authentic. Even though it was breakfast time, everyone in my group ordered gnocchi or pasta, and wow the gnocchi (which is what I ordered) was just amazing and the flavors were so rich. ...I highly recommend getting the gnocchi al pesto. The tiramisu was yummy, although was more in cake form rather than having lady fingers so just know that. Especially given its proximity to the colosseo, it was a wonderful meal.

Keelan O.

Yelp
Pretty good view, pizza was pretty good. Got one of our pasta orders wrong the first time, and when they brought the right pasta it was not that good. We got the Cacio e Pepe, which we heard was good in Rome, but it was much worse than all of the other places we've tried. It was lowkey watery

Yelp
What a treat this places was! Located closely to the Colosseum. The food was delicious and service was quick! We came for breakfast and enjoyed avocado toast and a waffle with fresh fruit and Nutella.

Yelp
Great, attentive service and (mostly) yummy food. We ate here twice - the gnocchi carbonara and avocado toast are super yummy. The sandwiches are bland and could use a little something,
google avatar

Yelp
Nice place for a quick sandwich and glass of wine before a Colosseum tour but be sure to ask for salt and pepper to add to your panini! My tomato prosciutto and mozzarella was a bit bland without it.

Yelp
I picked this spot after visiting the Colosseum and honestly expected the food to be mediocre because it's in a touristy area. However, the food was terrible, the pizza was frozen and the pasta sauce tasted canned. I was genuinely surprised with how bad the food was given this cafe had 4 stars. Would only recommend this place if you want something to drink.

Joy M.

Yelp
We popped in here after visiting the Colosseum. I had a pizza, and it was disgusting, dry and tasteless. I ate half a slice and left the rest of it and the staff did not care. Do not waste your money here, there are plenty of much better restaurants close by.
google avatar

Yelp
This seems to be one of the best options near the colosseum. Any place that doesn't have promoters outside is a better bet in my opinion. After a lot of walking, this was a great place to stop into and have lunch. The lasagna was tasty and the air conditioning was refreshing.

Anna J.

Yelp
You're a block away from the colosseum... and you serve frozen pizza?!?! Every single pizza they serve is frozen, not fresh. We actually asked the wait staff and they confirmed it. My companion says she had better lunches in prison.

Yelp
I stopped by for breakfast in between sightseeing. The cappuccino was awesome, and service was good. So why only two stars? I just wanted a little snack, and instead of pastries, etc., their only light option was a plate of white sandwich bread. This was three slices of white bread for 5.50!!!!! Not OK.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on our first night in Rome. It was nearby and easy to get to from the hotel as well as highly rated. When we entered it, there were a few people. I noticed the warm feeling with interesting artistic pieces and furniture selection as well as color. I ordered the lasagna and my wife ordered the lamb meatballs and rice. The food came out quickly and you could tell it was homemade. Everything was done to perfection and made me forget my previous experience in Florence at our 2nd night. We even enjoyed going to the bathroom to admire the plumbing art when flushing the toilet as well as washing our hands. It may take some figuring out but well worth it:)

Yelp
Interesting little spot not far away from the Colosseum and definitely worth the venture into the little streets. It almost feels a little hipster-esque because of how quirky the place was - from decor to menu selection. I'm glad this place offers different food options than the repetitive pizza and pasta choices. I had the Veal Meatballs and Curry, served with mixed greens and rice. The meal was really wholesome and balanced, just what I needed after eating non-stop protein and carbs on my vacation here. I also ordered one of their infused black teas with strawberry and strawberry leaves. It was perfect for the cold and chilly weather and really warmed me up. Service is friendly and attentive. Plus, free Wi-Fi! Great for any tourist/traveler.

Yelp
This place was right next to the Coliseum. The food and the service were good. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping by. The interior was more spacious than the modest exterior would have us believe. We walked inside and we were seated immediately. The menu was somewhat small on food. But there was a large selection of teas. And there were also beer and wine selections, which are very reasonably priced. We ordered the lasagne, the cannalloni and the chocolate gelato. The lasagna and the cannalloni were pre-made, but the were good - certainly better than most places in the US. The gelato was meh... I wouldn't recommend getting it - it was little icy in spots :( All in all, the meal was good and the price was right, making this place a worthwhile stop if you are near the Coliseum.

Yelp
This is a hidden little gem close to the Colosseum. Avoid the tourist traps nearby and have a delicious meal here. We had the homemade lasagne and it did not disappoint. It was very delicious. It came with a side salad that rounded out the meal. We also had cappuccino and dessert. The service was attentive and friendly. This restaurant has a very relaxed vibe to it, which made it a great place to have a meal and sip a cappuccino, while deciding where to go next for sightseeing.

Yelp
Cafe Cafe is a nice little place close to the Colosseum. After exploring the sites, my boyfriend and I were starving. We decided to stop by Cafe Cafe to grab a quick bite. When we sat down, we noticed how many varieties of gourmet teas there were on the menu, so we decided to give one a try. We ended up ordering the earl gray tea infused with strawberry leaves. We thought it was 3-4 euro a cup, but it turns out they give you a whole pot! I really enjoyed the tea, the strawberry flavor was strong but didn't overpower the earl gray tea. For food, both my bf and I ordered the veal meatballs. I got it with the curry sauce and he got the other sauce (can't remember what it was called). I thought the food was delicious - the meatballs came with rice and some salad. It was so delicious, I licked the plate clean. There was nothing left after I was done with it! Service is pretty good as well. I recommend coming here for the veal meatballs and the gourmet tea. Service and free wifi are also a plus!

Yelp
Our first breakfast in rome. Ordered the pancakes and was SHOCKED at how small they are! Scrambled eggs with bacon is very delicious. Also ordered greek yogurt which was delicious as well.

Yelp
A small entrance, this little cafe is easy to miss. It's a very casual spot with wifi just of Piazza del Colosseum. There's free Wi-Fi, so if you're traveling and a break with food to figure out where to go next, it's a good spot. The waiter I had is really friendly. Most of the menu is under €10. A glass of wine is €3, half bottle for €8 and full bottle for €14, so it's very affordable. I ordered the server's favorite, which is a break meatball with rice salad in lemon sauce. It's light with a little bit of a cream sauce. Quite tasty. I think I would've preferred meatballs that had more a ground meat texture instead of one's that kind had this solid texture (like your get at an Ikea or something). Tables are seated got 2 or 4, and seats probably about 20-24 people in the restaurant in total. I'd come back for a glass of wine if I wanted a break and were in the area.

Yelp
Nice little place across the street from Colosseum which is great for breakfast! For us greedy Americans, might find the portions a bit small - but that's ok, since the flavors are amazing. Just take your time and enjoy every bite. Plus - the wifi is super strong. So while your savoring every little fork full you can catch up on on all your social chatting and yelping. Yeah, i get it - the bacon is weird here. USA! USA! But, the Cappuccino cant be beat. Yes, the server will roll her eyes when you ask for a third cup of Cappuccino but that's how I roll and hopefully you do too! These cups are entirely to small.. ;v)

Yelp
With four nights in Rome to see ancient wonders and enjoy local food, this quaint place must be on your itinerary. You'll more than likely visit the Amphitheatrum Flavium (colosseum) and Cafè Cafè is a very short 2min walk. Skip the sprukers for other restaurants. Lasagne and meatballs are our families recommendation. Double shot cappuccino and you're ready for the afternoon. Oh and don't forget something sweet. Totalling $40 euro for two of meal, desert and drink this is also good value considering the location to a key monument. Oh and the service, that's why 5 stars.
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
This little hole in the wall was great. The service was decent and it had AC to escape the heat of the day. The food was tasty however I felt the portions were pretty small for the price. Also they didn't have any other hot sauces besides tabasco which was a pretty big bummer. The bathrooms were pretty cool though and the Wi-Fi worked great!
google avatar

Yelp
Cosy café. Nice service. Very tasty cold cappuccino in a hot august day. Orange juice was freshly pressed. Try to stop by when you are around the Colosseo area.

Yelp
My family and I, stumble upon this place from a yelp review that my cousin read up on. Pretty much would be a place I personally would overlook being that there are other restaurant around that have a better location to see the colosseum. But I'm glad me and my family didn't the food was excellent, the lasagna I order was probably the best I have ever had; so fresh and tasteful. The bruschetta was a great appetizer to start off. Overall I would definitely recommend this place with the reasonable price and the customer service. But if they had a bigger serving I would definitely pay the extra.

Yelp
The pizza is awesome and we also really liked the tea. We ordered fruit tea and mate tea and they were really good! Also the soya coffee is great. Good service and nice prices too.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
A nice hidden gem by the Colosseo. Varieties of gourmet teas selections and a selections of coffee drinks. Small food menu including salads, small entrées, and desserts. Mid range prices. Gourmet teas around 3€ - 4€; coffees 2€ - 3€. Food prices vary. Would recommend for a quick bite before or after the Colosseo/Palatine/Romance Forum.

Yelp
Parched after touring around the city on a hot day, we stopped in here for drinks and lunch. Lucky us it's Sunday brunch which is absolutely lovely. Finally I got my fill of vegetables instead of carbs!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a very enjoyable dinner here with my husband and toddler. My husband and I shared a liter of the house red wine. It was so delicious and pretty cheap. I ordered a glass of milk for my son. For some reason it came warm and very foamy, which we found to be pretty funny. I had the eggplant and my husband had a pizza for dinner. Both were very good. The restaurant is pretty small and a quick walk from the Colosseum.
google avatar

Victor R.

Yelp
First meal in Rome and it was pretty good, the waiter recommended a salad, which I ended up ordering. The staff was nice and the price was decent, and it's right across the Colosseum :)
google avatar

Alan R.

Yelp
Stopped by here before heading to the Colosseum to start off the day. The location was key and just a bit away from the main attraction. We walked right in and were seated immediately inside. It was nice not being bombarded by waiters trying to sell their restaurant to you. I had some bruschetta, lasagna and a cappuccino. The bread was the right crispness and the toppings were fresh. The lasagna was also flavorful. My only complaint is that the portion was a tad small. I would've paid more for a little extra. Overall, food was good and the prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Skylar B.

Yelp
GREAT service, super nice and attentive and speak English which for us cheesy tourists is great! The food was quite good for being close to the colosseum, and the location is a huge factor here. We enjoyed the ambience and experience, a cute little tucked away cafe compared to other food places nearby!
google avatar

Heather K.

Yelp
This is my 4th time coming here on a 10 day trip to Rome. My husband says it's the best espresso he's ever had, and he's done a lot more traveling in Europe than me. The brunch buffet on Sundays is really good! The servers are all friendly and the food and drinks come out in a timely manner. Very close to our airbnb, and reasonable prices for being so close to the Colosseum. There is also free wifi that I am using right now haha. They play "enjoyable classic rock all day," my husband said. Definitely order coffee here. I've had the cappuccino, a couple different teas, and the caffe americano. This is nearly a 5, slightly less because the Croque Madame I had was just okay. The bathroom is really cute too, multicolored toilet paper on the wall.
google avatar

Taylor P.

Yelp
This was a wonderful little cafe! We got breakfast after going to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. The food, coffee, and service were equally amazing. I was with 4 others and separating the check was very easy and they were very accommodating. 5/5 would recommend to anyone traveling to Rome
google avatar

Joanna F.

Yelp
Not sure what all the great reviews are for. Food seemed reheated and not authentic. More like an American-Italian restaurant. Food was good but nothing special. Service was prompt and friendly. So many better restaurants in Rome.
google avatar

Ellery M.

Yelp
We were so excited about this place because of the previous comments. Especially because of the rave lasagna reviews. My boyfriend got the lasagna and the edge of the pasta was rubbery, the meat wasn't spiced well, and there was very little ricotta. Maybe they've changed management or chefs recently, but we were very disappointed. My cannelloni was good, but we both left hungry and disappointed. My review may change though if we decide to go back for tea one day as there were many tea choices.
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
What a fail. I can't really rate the food here because I never got to eat. Sat there for at least five minutes getting passed by servers and no one helped. The person who sat us down actually left for the day a couple mins we sat down. This place was not busy at all btw

Sheena T.

Yelp
A cute little restaurant right next to the colosseum. I had the lasagna and my fiancé had cannelloni. All of them come with a side salad. Yeah!!! Veggies, have not had much veggies in Rome. Very well balanced meal that is reasonable in price. Staff was very nice :-)
google avatar

Natalia V.

Yelp
Do not have breakfast here. This is by far the most cheapest way to make breakfast and still they over charge you. You will have the same result at your hotel(maybe even better) if you toast your own plain white bread, but some cheap cheese and ham and a egg on top. Didn't even taste good. The staff are nice and attentive, but that's the only thing I can give to this terrible food.
google avatar

Joseph P.

Yelp
Best coffee I've had in Italy / Europe in the three months I've been travelling. Close to the Colosseum, so when your sick of the crowds Café Café is a welcome break from the masses! Also, Apple cake- light but delicious.
google avatar

Melanie S.

Yelp
A nice little café right by the Colosseum. The service is very friendly, it is cozy and the coffee is very good. Breakfast may be a little sparsely, but it's also very tasty. All in all: Highly recommended!
google avatar

Rei G.

Yelp
Came here after a tourist day to the colosseum. Decent food, moderately priced. I wasn't mad at it! Visit if you need something quick.
google avatar

Barb G.

Yelp
15 euro for an English breakfast tea and 3 slices of toast with butter Nd hmmm. 3 for the tea and 6 for the toast.
google avatar

Joe I.

Yelp
Great cozy spot for any tourist looking to get a taste of an authentic Italian cuisine but strongly recommend the beef lasagna and pizza margarita
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
They said avoid restaurants around the colosseum and they were right. If you want typical American Italian food this is the place. So many better options away from the colosseum. Service was good and a cute atmosphere.
google avatar

Erick C.

Yelp
The meal was wonderful and Lorenzo was so kind. He let my wife smell various teas to help her choose the right one. We were hoping for a dessert that was already out and Lorenzo actually got on the phone to see if the bakery could deliver the out of stock cakes. Even though he didn't hear back from them, we totally appreciated the effort. Their selection of teas were great and perfect on a day that rained in Rome with hail! We were at the AS Roma game and the teas perfectly soothed our drenched souls, pun intended. The café has a great vibe with the bright walls tastefully decorated with art and photos. Newspapers for patrons to read hang from the wall with classic board games below. All that to say, it's a very inviting environment.
google avatar

Chrissy N.

Yelp
Good and homey. They don't speak English well. Ask for condiments on your sandwiches!
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
Wonderful spot very close to the Coleseum - excellent service and fantastic food! The lasagna was very good and so was the cannelloni- would highly recommend!

P A D.

Yelp
Avoid the promoters, this is the best place near the Colosseum, solid, with no frills Pizza Margherita, Vino Rosso, free WiFi What more does one need for a quick meal!
google avatar

Rich O.

Yelp
Ordered the daily special of Cannelloni and bruschetta plus a Caprese salad with my gf. Everything was delicious and plenty of fuel for an afternoon at the Fora Romana. The opposite of a tourist trap.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Definitely the best home made Italian food we had; however, the waitress was extremely rude, she acted like she was doing us a favor, we were not done when she brought the bill, when I told her that I was still gonna ask for a dessert she took the bill and rolled her eyes, i would recommend to ask for to go in this place bc you can also saved the obligatory service fee which as I already explained was awful
