We had a great time with a lovely space and friendly service. All the dishes are very tasty and very large. I was very happy when some of the staff said to me in Japanese, "Please come again."

The food was very good and we loved the décor. Prices were a bit steep, but that's to be expected given the location. The service was unusually fast - kudos to the staff for streamlining everything! A pleasant experience overall.

We visited the Musée d'Orsay and after a full morning enjoying the spectacular art collection we needed a quick tasty lunch and chose the Café Campana. The service was quick and friendly, the food tasty and the view of one of the railway station clocks was a perfect backdrop.

A quiet retreat after the very busy galleries inside Museum d'Orsay. The iced tea was delicious and refreshing. We shared the raspberry faisselle, a yummy light dessert.

We went to this restaurant because a friend recommended it. The overall atmosphere was good, but the waiter's behavior was very disappointing. The waiter tried to serve bread behind my friend, and at that time my friend was waving his hand to explain the picture to me. At that moment, I hit the waiter's hand, and the bread fell to the floor. We waited for a new room, but it didn't come. I asked the waiter why he didn't give us bread. He said it was the customer's fault, so he couldn't give us bread. Why is it the customer's fault? The serving position was not next to us, but diagonally behind us, and my friend couldn't see the waiter. In the end, the waiter brought us bread, but it was very unpleasant. I hope the Musee d'Orsay hires employees who are worthy of its reputation.

The cafe is inside the Musee d'Orsay so the prices were a bit higher due to the location. We enjoyed our lunch and a break from walking. The service was average but the quality of the food was good. It was quite busy and others seemed to be enjoying their meals as well.

The former railway station and now Musee D'Orsay houses a very popular restaurant whose clock in CAFE COMPANA was used in the 2011 movie HUGO. You will definitely need to take a break at the upper floor CAFE COMPANA especially if you a cinephile. It is worth the wait as it has marvelous food and remarkably fast service despite the constant crowds.

Had an excellent lunch here! The salmon quiche and the squash soup are delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The people working here are exceptionally nice and polite (especially Julie), we were greeted with a warm smile when being seated and leaving. We like the vibe, it's definitely a relaxing place to enjoy with family. Will be back when visiting Paris again!

Yelp
Beautiful Cafe in the D'Orsay Museum. Service is exceptional. Lots to choose from depending on the desire. We really wanted a coffee break and added a little desert treat of Horloge vanilla fruit which we shared, and again because the service is so top notch they heard our desire to share and brought two plates. You know it is the little things like that that keep you coming back. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Can't complain about the convenience, ambience or speed of service. Located on the 5th floor and so convenient after you finish the highlights of the French impressionist! How was the food, well totally MEH, what would you expect, LOL

Yelp
We are big fans of a museum restaurant or cafe. We find that they often have a menu and chef that considers their food art. No exception here. The service was fast, food was tasty and the selections were great. Can't go wrong with the quiche. It's a giant space so not very cozy but that's ok; looking at the clock was cool!

Yelp
Honestly the fact that it was dinner time and we were in the museum drew us here. The ambience was the best part of the meal. It's a fantastic room and we loved sitting by the clock. The service was ok. Our waitress was fine, she wasn't nice or outgoing but she did her job so that's all we could ask for. The food was about the same. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't fantastic either. Maybe we were spoiled by all of the amazing food we had eaten elsewhere but the food here just didn't impress us. To be sure it did its job, it gave us energy and allowed us a chance to rest and get off our feet, which honestly was the best part of the experience. If you're on the fence about eating here, go somewhere else. If you just want a cool eating experience in a museum cafe with a super cool clock, then by all means eat here. They don't take reservations so the wait may be long, for us it was only about 5 minutes around 6pm. Be aware if you have a table close to the clock as everyone wants to take a picture with it. We did too, so no judgement. Just realize it gets crowded with Instagram models. But that was fun too, just people watching while you wait for your food.

Yelp
What could you possibly want more after a mildly exhausting stroll through the fabulous Musee de Orsay? Why.... I for one want a beautiful restaurant, courteous service and (...ahem...) reasonable or an inexpensive price structure. I'd then stoop to proclaiming the Campana to be a raging bargain!!! I was just entering a long line when a hostess walked up asking how many were in our group... I said 4... So she was about to seat me ahead of 20-25 people. Immediately I explained that I was waiting for the other 3 in our group... She smiled and replied that I was "0k"... Sigh So I got the "best table" in my estimation, right next to the giant iconic clock.... Where I proceeded to call n text my family to hustle on over. I felt a bit guilty, however, a passing waitress gave me absolutely zero grief. When the last person was coming to our table, I watched as a hostess spotted her, and waved her forward to cut the line! Up. Incredibly attentive and helpful! There was a gentleman in a black suit who looked to be in charge. He came over to take our order and was exceptionally patient. We were not hurried or hustled along 1% ... It was all so relaxed and professional from ALL of the staff. Okay So I looked at the menu... Expecting that such a beautiful restaurant in a prime super high demand location with supremely. Excellent staff would have a bit of sticker shock. And boy was I shocked how reasonable the menu prices were! At least to my sense of cost per person I thought this was almost inexpensive!!! We ordered two beef & taters dishes, one chicken curry rice... 59€ complete! Bread, butter n water rounded things out cozy. So why 5 stars.... Are we crazy??? This is worth 100 stars if just being tired and having such a fine dining option right at our fingertips counts for anything! Such a fab experience... Thanks shouted out to the staff & Musee de Orsay

Yelp
Great place to go while at the Orsay. We got the french flan and it was amazing. The drinks are very good and inexpensive, the service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
On the fifth floor hidden in a corner was the cafe. We got here early because I needed a coffee & there wasn't a line yet. I ordered a quiche & my husband a lasagna bolognese. Service was wonderful, coffee was superb & I really enjoyed my lunch & the atmosphere. My husband wasn't impressed with his lasagna & said mine is better. We shared a tiramisu for dessert that was awesome. When we left there was a very long line to get inside.

Yelp
When in Paris, get a museum pass and make Musee d'Orsay your first stop. The restaurants in this area are very limited. But I saw the museum had something. The environment with the big clock is epic. The service staff are all very friendly and the food is good. Basically, you have all the amazing art in the Musee d'Orsay and then you have this gem on the top floor to refuel. As always, I think it's fair to speak as much French as you know how being that you're in France. But the staff here was gracious and quick regardless of whether people tried.

Yelp
Pricey restaurant within the Musée D'Orsay. Good ambience, nice service but the vegetarian options were bad. Especially the burrata with quinoa. Better to avoid for vegetarians unless it is the last recourse.
google avatar

Lizzie S.

Yelp
The service seemed to be lacking. Our waiter stopped in the middle of taking our order--while my friend was speaking-- to do something for two other tables. I will say that I was a big fan of my chocciato and the salad d'oeufs with grilled vegetables was very good. The portion was tiny given that it said it belonged to the large salad category on the menu, but it surprisingly was very filling? Or that might have been the chocciato which had the ideal sized portions of chocolate and coffee. The decor can't be beat. Big fan of the lighting, chairs, and the large clock on the far wall.

Yelp
The bistro of the Musee D'Orsay, the deco is quite nice and the food was good too, having in consideration that you are in a museum! El bistro del Museo D'Orsay, la deco es bastante linda y la comida estuvo muy bien también, teniendo en cuenta que estamos en un museo!

Yelp
Stopped in here for a quick bite and an energy pick me up towards the end of a long day of sight seeing. It really hit the spot. Highly recommend making it a part of your museum visit. First the decor itself is a refresher. Stunningly beautifully decorated, you can begin to unwind and relax as you let the atmosphere wash over you. The food was well presented and tasty. Service was prompt and accommodating.

Yelp
Let's be clear - the main reason to be here is because it's one of the coolest spots in Paris to sip coffee or have a meal. One of the Orsay clocks in the background and great lamps lighting the dining area. On nice weather days you can step out onto the terrace and see the view from the top. Definitely a must-try - but of course, during a museum visit. :-)

Yelp
After a couple of hours of looking at paintings in the Orsay, we decided to take a break and have lunch here when we came across this place. There was no line at that time thankfully! We lucked out I guess because a line formed shortly after that! Aa usual bread was brought to our table after we ordered. In France butter is not served with bread, so you'll have to ask for butter if you want to butter your bread. I'm fine with no butter. The bread is good on its own. We asked for a carafe of water as it was a warm day and all that walking to and inside the museum has made me thirsty. Tap water in Paris is perfectly good to drink, so save some money and ask for "une carafe d'eau s'il vous plait" when eating out! My husband ordered the penne pasta dish which is vegetarian and has a nice amount of shaved Parmesan on top. I ordered the Beef Stir-fry noodles. The pasta was better than my stir-fry. My stir fry had too much onions and not enough beef. The sauce was okay. My husband's dish had a nice sauce and the generous shavings of Parmesan made it even better. For dessert, I ordered an espresso to go with a slice of their Blueberry Tart. The tart was great . You can't go wrong with fruit tarts in Paris. They had a couple of other tarts, but this one caught my eye. Unlike desserts in the U.S., French bakers show a little more restraint in adding sugar, so their desserts are not too sweet! The service was good here and even though they have a line of people waiting for tables, they will not rush you. In fact they will not give you the check if you don't ask for it. And even after you've paid, they still won't rush you! It is like that everywhere in Paris and I love it!

Yelp
My sister and I went on 3/22/23 with our sons and we broke up our group to sit 2 at two different tables because it was so busy. My sister and her son were nearly finished in their section while our waiter continued to serve others seated before us. When I tried to flag our waiter, he said something curt and rude in French and didn't stop. After 20 minutes, I asked the hostesses if they could help get us a waiter and they apologized that we hadn't yet been served. The manager comes over and starts berating me about my impatience. He said they serve 1227 people a day and are very busy and was shocked that I couldn't wait 5 minutes to be served. I argued that we had been there for 20 minutes watching the waiter serve others seated before us and he accused me of lying. We left, and left the D'Orsay entirely. I saw the manager again outside smoking and he came over to argue with me again. Worst day in Paris but luckily I had better days before and after. Run by a poor manager.

Yelp
There are two cafes and a restaurant in the museum. This is the larger of the cafes, located on the fifth floor. You can take the escalator at the back of the museum or use the lifts. Those are along the outside walls and are generally reserved for the disabled. The menu has a few options for food-- from salads to some entrees. I had the carbonara pasta, which was delightful. Expect to spend about 20€ per plate. Beverages are 4€-5€. The food was surprising good for being in a museum. Service was friendly and the staff spoke English.

Yelp
Cafe Campana is located on Level 5 of the Musee d' Orsay. The restaurant is beautiful and crowded. The Restaurant on Level 2 is less crowded if you don't have time to wait. Although the museum closes at 5:15 (9:15 on Thursdays) and final closing is at 6PM, the restaurant closes at 5PM and 9PM on Sundays. www.musee-orsay.fr

Yelp
This is such a unique and special cafe location that they easily could have slacked-off on the food, however everything is delicious! Be sure to get here early for lunch, before noon, in order to beat the crowd and get a good table! Bonus Tip: This might sound strange, but my wife loved the bread basket as it was copper wire that was weaved into a bowl. Upon inquiring to the waitress about it, she informed us that you can buy them in the gift shop! We went to look, just to see how crazy expensive it would be... but it was only about $40, so we got one! Note: We visited in September 2016

Yelp
This was one of the three restaurants in the musee d'Orsay. The prices weren't outrageous, compared to the restaurants in the Louvre. They were actually pretty averagely prices for Paris. The food was all incredible. I got the lasagne, and it was beyond delicious. The sauce was flavorful, the cheese was soft and matches the sauce well. I could not complain about it at all. The portion size was filling for me. I ate a little over half of the serving! My mom had a salad, which she said was delicous, and my sister had the cheese and spinach ravioli, which smelled incredible. She said it tasted very good. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I was expecting average at best, but what we got was a very delicious meal.

Yelp
The food is poor. Quiche Lorraine and pasta were all bleghhh. They sell better stuff in the refrigerated aisles of the supermarket. The cafè crème was the worst I've ever had. If I wanted terrible coffee, I would've gone to Starbucks. We ate in here only because we spent almost 8 hours at Musee d'Orsay staring at all the paintings of the Cezanne exhibit over and over. After our 5th hour, we needed to recharge. There's nothing to look at in this cafe. It's utilitarian - you sit, order, eat, the check comes to you quickly after you finish and you're expected to leave to make room for other guests trying to recharge also. American style. I threw in some stars because it was super-convenient and it did the job of saving us from museum fatigue. The line also moved quickly thanks to some people who ate and picked up their asses quickly without lingering. If you wanna act French and sit and linger all day, by all means go out and do it at a real sidewalk cafe where there are plenty of things to look at.

Yelp
Having arrived directly at Musee D'Orsay off that morning's Eurostar from London, my first port of call was to grab some food to power me on my trawl through her treasures. Opting for the top floor Cafe Campana, I timed my arrival well (12.15) as there was no immediate queue to be seated at a table - when I passed by later, those queues had increased greatly. I'd already picked the pasta dish when I'd looked at the menu earlier, so it was a speedy process to make the order of that and a glass of white to go with it. I was very impressed by the quick turnaround as it probably arrived five minutes later! To be honest, it was a little bland and tasteless - but it filled me up and speed and efficiency were more important to me in this case. You wouldn't expect haute cuisine in a high turnover museum cafe. The price was about right too. But the main attraction of Cafe Campana is its decor and environment - it's mesmerising light fixtures and wall-sized clock face are dazzling and a treat for the eyes, a nice hors d'ouevre for what was to come elsewhere.

Yelp
Campana is the sit-down cafe on the top floor of the Orsay Museum. It is only available to people who have paid admission to the museum. Since a good viewing of the exhibits takes 3-5 hours, it is definitely handy to have this cafe available, and I will eat here again if I have the opportunity to again visit this wonderful museum. FOOD: 2.0. Pricey, and ordinary. I had the Salad Gourmande with romaine lettuce, duck breast, and an egg. OK. Definitely wouldn't pay this price anywhere else. The chocolate eclair was fine. SERVICE: 3.0. AMBIANCE: 2.0. Bascially a caferia. TIP: A lunch break during a long museum visit is worthwhile. I arrived at the museum about 10, and had lunch shortly before noon, and then spent another couple of hours in the museum. HAVE LUNCH AT NOON OR BEFORE TO MISS THE LINE. When I started there was no line, but when I left the cafe at 1pm there was a long line of people waiting to get a table.
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
Oh the food section here is very limited. The only thing that was decent is the coffee.
google avatar

Barb L.

Yelp
We do not expect much from a museum cafe...not even in Paris. The service was warm, but once they found out we are an Italian speaking family? It was exceptional. Thanks to Francesco. The food was nothing to write home about...but the service definitely made up for it.

Yelp
Excellent, excellent cafe/bistro in an excellent setting. We came here for lunch, where I had the salmon. We had tried the restaurant at the museum the day before, while good, the cafe was much more enjoyable. The food is high quality, although the setting, hard to describe, but I would say to feel more New York (busy, noisy) than Paris (think of a roadside bistro). Love the Campana Bros furniture, and the clock in the space.
google avatar

Maggi O.

Yelp
This was a great intermediate and casual choice between the cafés (coffee and sweets) and the restaurant within the d'Orsay. Especially helpful when kids need refueling before the local restaurants reopen. Service was friendly and efficient, offerings were varied, and food was tasty. Not the best in Paris but good and comforting.
google avatar

BoBo A.

Yelp
Great service (compared to most other places we've been in Paris), above average food, and beautiful interior. Price is steep but a nice place to rest and dine/snack after the long walk inside the museum.
google avatar

German B.

Yelp
The beautiful Musee d'Orsay, formerly a busy train station, is home to a café and two restaurants. On the 5th floor, is the Café Campana is a great cafeteria to have a light lunch and relax during a tour of the large museum. Shiny gold "bells" hang from the ceiling, and there's a huge clock through one wall. We had the Caesar salad with chicken (16 euros), and a quiche Lorraine (13), both of which were quite good plus café au laits.. While a little pricey, we had a very pleasant lunch there.

Audrey B.

Yelp
Nice decor, very convenient as it is located within the Musée D'Orsay. The food was fine but not notable, especially for the price. We had the antipasti plate and the caesar salad a coffee and a tea which came to 40 euro. If you are looking for something simple and quick this is a good spot, the staff were very efficient. Definitely over priced and not somewhere to go out of the way to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow - the food is great, service fast, and you get a view of one of the Musee D' Orsay's clock windows. Definitely a great option if you get hangry while visiting this terrific museum.

Justine M.

Yelp
We stopped in here just to get a little something to tide as over until dinner. The Croque Monsieur was fabulous. We also got a millefeuille and the kids loved it so much we had two were a second. Very nice wait staff. A limited menu but very good food. Just a nice place to take a break in this awesome museum.
