Google
This is a special review for me. I was lucky enough to spend 10 days visiting this shop daily. I must say that the customer service is the place's strong point. The people who work there have a very good sense of humor and a high energy that shows in their customer service. I had the opportunity to see the coffee bean brewing process, as they do it in-house, try their pastries, and I also used the shop as an office during that time, where I was able to enjoy the shop's great music, based on the vinyl collection they play on their record player. A great experience that I recommend to everyone. A must-visit if you're in Brussels. Again, and as I've told you every time I've been there: Thank you!

Google
We had a wonderful morning here, coffee was excellent and we also got a Portuguese tart and chocolate croissant which did not disappoint! We were visiting from Australia and the staff were friendly and accomodating to us only being able to speak English! Vibes were also awesome, the music was great and I think played through a record player which was cool.

Google
A specialty coffee shop with new wave coffee. One of my favorite drinks is an allongé. They offer one with a light roast which really brings out the fruity and funkiness of light roast beans. This was very nice 👌🏽 The cafe has a nice environment to sit and relax. They seem to really care about the quality of their espresso pour. I noticed a board that tracked their espresso measurements.

Google
For great coffee and fresh baked and cakes, look no further in the centre of Brussels. Very popular and busy on most days. A lot of people choose to work out of Cafe Capitale too. The place has an informal vibe. And there are some communal tables too.

Google
Best coffee in town & the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had! All the pastries look freshly made. Comfortable sitting area indoors & outdoors in a pleasant atmosphere. I love everything about this place! ❤️❤️

Google
Nice place, good v60. But I got a surprise when I brought home a bag of Competition series Ethiopia Gesha coffee. The weight (225g) includes the box and the bag as well! The coffee beans weights only 166g. I did not expect that. :-( And on top of that the coffee beans were old and stale. Lost all of their flavour notes. This should not have been sold as Competition series.

Google
Fantastic spot for a great coffee just off grand place in Brussels. Uber cool with a real sense of self, this coffee shop, while a mix of modern and shabby chic, was a pleasure to visit. The coffees were more than decent and a good selection of pastries and cakes. Toilets, downstairs were clean and stylish. Staff were excellent and aware. Loved it.

Yelp
Really cute café on a quiet street that's great for people watching. Coffee and pastries are delicious, and service is friendly and fast. I visited twice within a week and wasn't even staying in this neighborhood. Honestly the one-star reviewer just sounds self-centered and wanting to complain. Sure you can have a bad experience and that's unfortunate but you feel the need to spread the word on social media? Calm down. It's perfectly normal to order first and then sit if a place doesn't offer table service. The situation could have been avoided. Just move on.

Yelp
€3.80 for coffee €2 from the store across the street to buy soap because there is no soap in the WC. Also, no lights in the toilet. And the coffee was pretty bitter. I'll write this place off my list.

Yelp
Excellent quality espresso drinks just off the Grand Place in central Brussels - the best coffee I know of in the center of town. Full of flavor and decently priced. Also a nice atmosphere to sit and have a chat. Only downside is no AC during hot weather periods - it was boiling when I went in. But that's probably quite common in Brussels, since it's only rarely very hot.

Yelp
I came to that coffee to work. I barely set up my computer that the red-headed lady came to me in a very aggressive way to say that I had the obligation to order. Three minutes in and you already feel unwelcome. That lady needs to learn how to receive customers. Where is the manager, he needs to teach her? I left... they lost several orders as I had planned to stay the day. Note that the 3.5 euro coffee is very small, to say the least.

Yelp
Finding Cafe Capitale in the midst of tourist hell is God sent. Once you step inside you instantly feel you're in a cute, cozy, neighborhood local spot. Food: I ordered a marble cake and a chai latte. Both were good. Price: 5.80 EUR Service: Super friendly. Ambiance: Very casual. Mix of people - locals on their laptops and some tourists. Would I go back? Absolutely. I stay at a hotel nearby and will now make this my usual spot.

Yelp
Great place to sit down and relax. Their cafe latte was a bit too sweet. There seems to be a lot of locals here working on their laptops. This place was also recommended by our tour guide as one of his favorite.

Yelp
A great find in Brussels when staying in the area a few weeks back. Its a cozy little corner spot within a few minute walk from the Grand Place in a touristy area. We stopped in here for our caffeine fix in the morning while exploring the town by foot. I unfortunately fell victim to their infamous "step" in the middle of the place, not sure why its there, but its only a slight step. We came back here later for their freshly made fruit smoothies. Both times, the place is fairly full with the afternoon crowd even larger. Had a very relaxing bohemian type feel to it. And they have free wifi which helped with exploring the area further, especially with a limited US data plan...

Yelp
Oh my, out of words. This is the hipster place where you take your laptop and work or write a thesis. It is also suitable for a quick morning coffee or a cozy chat with a friend. Coffee is extremely tasty, they offer a wide selection of coffee preparation styles. You can also get your beans for home. Newspapers available to read, make sure you taste the chocolate& nut brownie. Wifi available, the place gets busy around noon time.

Yelp
I am not sure why anyone would rate this serious cup of coffee anything but a 5 Star. Perhaps too serious? The pastries are meant to compliment not overly sweet and nice classic croissant. They know the difference between a long black and an americano. A must stop for your jolt any time of day.

Yelp
Very cute and trendy coffee shop with a nice ambience. The coffee is delicious and they offer flavor additions and milk alternatives. We did not try the food but wished we did as it looked delicious. A perfect place to stop for a coffee and recharge in Brussels. Seems to be very popular amongst locals too

Yelp
This is my number one spot for coffee in Brussels! I'm always in search of perfect balanced coffee taste - and here it is, unexpectedly in the middle of Belgium! Totally recommend the place. Prices are great too if you're on a budget

Yelp
In Belgium for 3days. Luckily I walked right by this place. Lattes to die for. They take the coffee seriously and you can taste it. Most I have visited have no flavor syrups but they had them all like in the USA. Thanks

Yelp
Good coffee but staff not very friendly, very busy taking to each other... Second time the same conclusion.

Yelp
Beware of the step, it's waiting deviously to trip you up. They really should have a sign as about 70% of people that decided to have their coffee in tripped over it, yours truly included. It's very small inside and the tables are packed pretty tight so don't get all dog in the manger about sharing a table it's unbecoming and selfish. Coffee is good and the selection of sweet stuffs is good too. They also do juices and salads. Free wifi, the code is 0123456789. The music is hip and chilled and at the right noise level. Lots of windows so that you can people watch. It was my main base during my time in the city as I felt safe and could sit for hours without being disturbed.

Yelp
Coffee tastes the same as it did before (awesome)... Toilets are still missing but apparently will be added... Will check that !
google avatar

Yelp
Very delicious iced Americano. Had to pop into this random coffee shop. The WiFi is also free and fast - lots of people just hanging out taking a break. I could spend hours in here reading, surfing the web, and drinking their delicious local coffee. They also have a free W.C. (bathroom) which normally costs 0,50 euroes.

Yelp
One of the nicest coffee dhop in Brussels. They roast their beans and offers a good range of specialty coffee and a various food option. Staff is ok but didn't find them particularly friendly. I tried their cappuccino and it was excellent as the tuna sandwich. Price wise, it was about 7€ which is fair enough. The place itself is very cosy and offers a good place to relax and have a conversation. It was always full with people in the morning during my 3 days stay and it was again later ( even after 7pm). Located off the Grand Place, this is a place that is recommended when you are looking for some good coffee.

Yelp
Both our coffees: cappucinut and cafe latte were super bland without a hint of coffee whatsoever. Service took a long time. I gave two stars for the vibe of the place as it is admittedly a good place to have a small chat or study, but you'll need to bring in your caffeine from elsewhere.

Yelp
Just Excellent!!! The best coffee-place in town, honestly! I'm a local and I go here all the time: supreme coffees, juices.....and delicious pastry!!!!!!! I'm used to find places like this in NYC....and now this "wave" also made it to Brussels (actually already a couple of years now). Nice interior, vintage style.

Yelp
Nice and cosy place. Came for a to go coffee and was not disappointed. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is calm and quiet. They seem to be very busy and popular. I had a latte, which was small but maybe I should have specified. Coffee was ready very fast despite the many customers in the shop. Kind of on the pricey side but I was not surprised at that. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop. Good quality coffee and friendly staff. Will go again and enjoy this hip spot for some excellent java.

Yelp
Stopped by a couple times during my trip and it is such a great place! Their coffee is good and the ambiance adds the perfect touch. It was raining when I was in Brussels and this was just the place to be.

Stephane T.

Yelp
It's a cozy place but the service took long and our coffees were cold instead of warm

Yelp
Great coffee bar with great taste for espresso from all around the world. The prices are a little bit high but the quality is awesome. And I have to try their pies.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, but they disappointed me on many levels: - Customer service: after dealing with the customer before me, the clerk just turned her back to me and started doing the dishes while there was a long line waiting. Three minutes later, she turned back around and took my order. Worst customer service ever (even for Belgian standards)! - About half of the things on the menu were not available. How hard can it be to have bagels in stock... My advice to the store is to go check out "Cafe parlor" in St gilles to see how you can create a nice coffee place, with good menu and customer service! I'll come back in a few months to see if there has been improvement

Yelp
Okay coffee and sandwich place, very cosy especially if you can get one of the fauteuils by the window. Not cheap, but decent sandwiches and desserts.

Vicki G.

Yelp
This cafe is nice and spacious. They have a wide variety of coffee, which was very nice. I got the chai tea latte, which you can't find easily in Brussels so that was win. However it took forever to get my cinnamon roll. The service here isn't good but the coffee is.

Yelp
Good coffee in a typical coffeehouse environment. A nice place to step away from the bustle outside.

Yelp
Nice place near the center for good wifi and sitting. But usually crowded and can be a little noisy at times. But this is the only place we can find near this neighborhood that had chargers comfortable seat and good wifi for working and reading:(.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
We couldn't find very many coffee shops in the Brussels city centre, but this one was good enough for the two times we needed to stop for coffee/wifi. It is just off the main square, a very convenient location. The interior is kind of 1960s-esque and there is a fair amount of seating. There was some confusion the first time we went because they did not have any change, but the coffee made up for it. They also have iced-lattes, somewhat rarer in Europe. The free wifi is also great, and there are outlets available. If you need a quick caffeine fix or a wifi fix or both, this is a good spot to do it.

Yelp
Your typical coffee house set-up with regular coffees and espresso as well as fancier drinks (cappuccino, macchiato, syrup options, etc.) that made this traveling coffee fiend feel right at home. A good selection of sweets (muffins, cupcakes, breads) as well as savory food (baguettes, quiche, salads, soups). There is a seating area, albeit tight, but people are willing enough to share a table space or couch with one another. As one poster mentioned, there is a step in order to get from the ordering area up to the sitting area - make sure not to trip! {They have free wifi with the password taped to the counter where you order your food & drink}

Ernest R.

Yelp
I find that there are quite few good coffee places in Brussels. The kind of place not owned by a chain, selling lots of choices in a cozy environment, located in a place where you actually pass by. This is a real coffee place and if it would be located in New York, Stockholm or Copenhagen I'd wouldn't be as surpriced or happy to find it. But in Brussels where there are more places for beer and less for coffee I am very happy to find such a nice place!

Bob P.

Yelp
Horrible coffee, arrogant staff. You can find much better coffee and service in Brussels.

Nelson N.

Yelp
Really nice! Suitable for working in your laptop, nice music, relaxing mood, good coffee and cakes. Drawback: no W.C.!
