South Africa 🇿🇦 Cape Town
We visited Cafe Caprice during our stay in Cape Town. It’s a very popular spot in Camps Bay with a lively, pleasant atmosphere. There are outdoor tables with a beautiful ocean view, and the place was quite busy when we arrived. The interior is bright, airy, and inviting, adding to the relaxed seaside vibe.
FOOD:
The menu is extensive, focusing mainly on European-style cuisine. They also serve breakfast dishes even after noon, which is a nice touch. We chose the prawn pasta, which was cooked al dente and well executed. The tomato-based sauce was nicely balanced, with a good mix of acidity and subtle sweetness, and the prawns were cooked professionally — tender and flavorful.
As a sharing dish to go with drinks, we ordered nachos with cheese and chicken. The portion was generous, with plenty of toppings and melted cheese. The only downside was that all the filling sat on top, making it slightly awkward to eat, but overall it was still enjoyable.
SERVICE:
Service was friendly and welcoming. The waitstaff were attentive, smiling, and efficient, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere despite how busy the café was.
VERDICT:
A great café close to the beach with tasty food, a lively atmosphere, and beautiful ocean views. It can get crowded, so making a reservation in advance is a good idea. A perfect spot to enjoy a meal or drinks while taking in the Camps Bay scenery.
