"Coffee at Café Casita de Amor on the Hummingbird Highway Café Casita de Amor is inside a building that looks more like a home, albeit one of the most unusual you will find in Belize . Painted in striking shades of blue and orange with a metal roof that glints in the sunlight, it’s surrounded by a garden and just at the end of a bridge along the Hummingbird Highway. The cozy, colorful café offers sandwiches, crepes and omelets but the real stars of the menu are the drinks. If you’re looking for something sweet, try a milkshake made from flavors like papaya, banana and coconut. The coffee is excellent and will fuel you up for the remainder of your journey. Just prepare to wait after ordering as all food is made to order."
What a find! We were searching for a coffee on our way to Placencia and Wendell saved the day with his great coffee and delicious sandwiches. The place looked closed when we passed by but once we’d parked, Wendell appeared and welcomed us, so do make sure you stop by to see if he’s around even if it looks shut. He is a wonderful man who is very kind and friendly. We recommend anyone passing through to stop by! The house has been repainted by Wendell so it doesn’t look like the older photos, keep an eye out for dark wood and jaguar print facade.

Don't miss this little gem! We stopped into this cafe during our drive to Cayo, and were completely surprised to find a very special and unique place. Every bit of it has been designed and lovingly crafted, from the custom-built door, to the piano in the corner, to the paintings. As you sip your coffee and snack on a banana crepe, be sure to take time to chat with Wendel, the owner. You will be entertained and moved by his stories.

Quaint, charming little cafe with great coffee and good breakfasts. Wendel is very pleasant and gracious. A little pricey for most of Belize, but worth it. Great rock 'n roll music played too. Really nice quiet place for breakfast.

Phenomenal cafe with the most genuine man ever running the place. He built the entire place himself and is one of the nicest people to chat with. If you get the chance, stop by and hear all the lovely and interesting stories he has to tell over an espresso and a pastry.
