Cafe Catamaran

The cafe has a lovely roofed terrace with really nice low sofa seating which we really enjoyed. The beach view was also very nice. The food is pretty average and I got a bit of a bad belly after the curry I had there. The shakes were ok but mostly milk and very little fruit. The staff are very friendly. Many western guests so definitely more of a tourist place.

I went there alone to spend a small break. Went at 10.00 am. Not crowded. Ambiance is nice. Food was decent. View to beach was great. Mainly foreigners reach there. Parking was available in the beachside. For breakfast, only few items were available. Main items, including starters, are served after 5 pm. I felt they should keep the place well maintained. The roof tops were rusty. And the furniture needed some refurbishing.

This place is right next to zostel and is best place to view sunset if you are around. The hotel is very budget friendly which makes it a perfect place to eat if you are in Allepey. The food is also good. Their lemonade and veg sandwich is must try. Tip: reach a bit early if you want a table near the edge to have a better view of sunset.

We waited arround 15min to be attended and there wasn't much people. When we finally ordered it took them more than 30min to bring the salad and then arround 15 more minutes to bring the pizza and the prawns. When we finished eating they remembered to bring us two glasses of water. Then we waited again to get the bill. The food was really good but on small portions. The ambience is nice, with good views to the beach and chill music. In general it's a good restaurant, but it has a very poor service and it is a bit expensive for the little amount of food you get.

My favourite place in Alappuzha It's a very calm and quiet place with a great atmosphere I love to visit this cafe because of the reasons mentioned above. We can also enjoy the uncrowded beauty of Alappuzha beach from here. Recommended for couples its a safe place Also there are different varieties of desserts you must try it Chocolate and Banana brownies are out of this world 🖤

We visited the Cafe for dinner after reading rave reviews about the place. Absolutely no idea why this place has such a high rating. We ordered a veg noodle soup and the seafood sizzler. After 45 min of waiting in a mostly empty cafe, we were blessed with chicken noodle soup, which we returned. It took another 15 min to get the correct soup, and the seafood sizzler- which had 1 piece of fish, and 6 prawns in a sweetish gravy. The soup itself had a sweet taste, not at all pleasant to eat. A possible reason could be that the food was not suited to my palate. We asked for some water, and got a bottle- with no glasses. By then, we gave up. For us, only the location worked- the Cafe is situated right on the beach, beautiful Instagrammy vibes, perfect view. But they really need to work on the food. Very disappointing experience.

Catamaran Cafe offers a picturesque setting right by the beach. The ambiance is undeniably charming, especially on a sunny day. However, our recent visit presented a mixed bag of experiences being cloudy and with rain. The service was commendable, with a friendly and informative staff. The coffee and Nutella pancakes were definite highlights, satisfying our cravings. Unfortunately, the Full English breakfast fell short of expectations. The toast lacked crispiness, and the sausage seemed pre-cooked, resulting in a less-than-ideal texture and was cold. While the cafe's location and service are commendable, the inconsistency in food quality leaves room for improvement. For a one-time experience, it's worth a visit to enjoy the beach views and a few select menu items.
