Cafe Cometa is a cute little cafe just a block North from the Poble Sec metro on Av Paral Lel. Cometa was one of our favorite eateries in Barcelona...so much so that we ate there twice. We even sat at the same table by the window on both occasions.
On our first visit, we had the "Munch" platter (8€) with jamon Serrano, avocado, a hard boiled egg and watermelon as well as a "Bikini" sandwich with the jamon Serrano upgrade and a small glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (2,70€). The Bikini was nice and hot so the cheese was melted and the bread was crispy. The watermelon on the platter was thinly sliced, cold and crisp. Very refreshing! I had asked for an avocado toast but the waitress never brought it. I let her know that it was still on the bill and she quickly removed it.
On our second visit, we had another jamon Serrano Bikini (4,50) , a Kiko sandwich (6,50€ with added Parmesan cheeae for 1€) and a Coffee Frappe (3,50€). Although I ordered a cafe latte with ice, the waiter brought me this and I didn't mind it. It was actually really good. The sandwich was DELICIOUS. The curry mustard was the star. This sandwich was finger-licking-good.
Everything was delicious. We really really enjoyed our meals here. I do wish I would have tried one of their cakes. They have them on the counter and I was oogling them the whole time. There was one that looked like banana chocolate. Instead, I had a donut from the place next door (La Donuteria...which was delicious too!)
I did take quite a while both times for our food to be ready but it was worth the wait!
