"Located in the heart of the neighbourhood, this is one of the best spots to grab breakfast or a quick coffee. Small but beautifully decorated, in a Nordic style, they offer natural, freshly-squeezed fruit juices, sandwiches and a highly recommended selection of cakes and pastries." - Malva Sawada & Enric Badrinas

I had a horrific experience that I’ve never encountered anywhere else. I ordered a sandwich by the till and sat down and I had a look at a file on my laptop while waiting for my food. I was quickly confronted by the same young man who served me by the till that I had to stop immediately as laptops were not allowed during weekend. I explained I wasn’t staying for long and that I just needed to check something quickly and wouldn’t take their space for long but he demanded that I was not allowed to hold my laptop open and told me I was being difficult when I wanted to clarify their rules. He refused to let me speak to the owner over my concerns of his tone of voice and his overly dramatic gestures as if I committed a crime by asking to speak to someone else. I asked for a refund which was initially refused followed by him arguing with me that the food was ready so it was too late to cancel. He then brought me the money back followed by a rather dramatic act of grabbing my coffee and a plate off my hand and shouting at me to leave the place. Nothing can explain this level of disrespect and contempt for customers. I was shocked to say the least and I cannot imagine what was going through this man’s mind that led him to treat me like this but it was completely unacceptable. I wonder whether he would have behaved the same way towards a man. A point I’m trying to make is that we all have rules that we apply but the way he was enforcing them was completely irrational. You do not shout at a customer when they ask to speak to a manager, you generally do not shout at a customer, full stop. All I asked for was that I was allowed to finish my food but instead was told I had to leave.

I wandered in on a Saturday morning at 10 with 2 kids and was able to get a table inside. We enjoyed looking at the gallery wall while we nibbled on Nutella croissant and cheesecake with passion fruit sauce. The cappuccino was perfect and even had some foam art, which you often get in BCN. There were 3 tables outside but already taken. The cafe is at a corner spot, great for enjoying the neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Google
Really good coffee! The comets latte: amazing. They do not offer such a wide variety to eat but it is good enough and the ambient and service is great. They are pet friendly! Down side: they do not offer wifi or to go cup caps, so if you want your coffee to go it will be risky 🤣

Google
Cute little place very centrally located with the most amazing people, some good coffee and very good snacks and desserts ! Highly recommended and will go back]

Google
Great strong coffee with cakes and cookies. They also have some savory options on their menu. They have some tables outside that are very nice to take afternoon coffees.

Google
Great coffee, great sandwiches, great vibes. Small and you will often need to wait but it's worth it. Great little cafe. The pesto and goats cheese sandwich was incredible!

Rachel Nel

Google
Really good coffee! Such a cute place to sit and chat with a friend or read your book. The cakes are pretty pricey for what you get but the amazing espresso makes up for it

Google
La Cometa is a really great place to go to unwind yourself. You can meet a variety of local people and tourists and the staff are very friendly. I’ve had an amazing toasted bread with cream cheese, smoked salmon and spinach, an ideal combination of those specific nutrients you really need when you are buzzing around town to do chores. The ingredients are fresh and the toast was perfect; not too hard nor soft. I can also recommend the fresh fruit juices they are offering. I had a freshly squeezed orange juice 😉

Yelp
This cafe is super cute and is full of bright eclectic decor. The staff is super friendly. They offer desserts, sandwiches and a variety of beverages. They also offer plant milk options which, can be hard to find in Barcelona! The carrot cake and salmon sandwich are both to die for ! This is a great place to catch up with friends or read a book but, there is no wifi so you might have a hard time getting work done.

Yelp
Avocado toast serano ham smoke salmon & goat cheese.. I think I died went to heaven this is the best breakfast I've had in Barcelona..

Yelp
Cafe Cometa is a cute little cafe just a block North from the Poble Sec metro on Av Paral Lel. Cometa was one of our favorite eateries in Barcelona...so much so that we ate there twice. We even sat at the same table by the window on both occasions. On our first visit, we had the "Munch" platter (8€) with jamon Serrano, avocado, a hard boiled egg and watermelon as well as a "Bikini" sandwich with the jamon Serrano upgrade and a small glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (2,70€). The Bikini was nice and hot so the cheese was melted and the bread was crispy. The watermelon on the platter was thinly sliced, cold and crisp. Very refreshing! I had asked for an avocado toast but the waitress never brought it. I let her know that it was still on the bill and she quickly removed it. On our second visit, we had another jamon Serrano Bikini (4,50) , a Kiko sandwich (6,50€ with added Parmesan cheeae for 1€) and a Coffee Frappe (3,50€). Although I ordered a cafe latte with ice, the waiter brought me this and I didn't mind it. It was actually really good. The sandwich was DELICIOUS. The curry mustard was the star. This sandwich was finger-licking-good. Everything was delicious. We really really enjoyed our meals here. I do wish I would have tried one of their cakes. They have them on the counter and I was oogling them the whole time. There was one that looked like banana chocolate. Instead, I had a donut from the place next door (La Donuteria...which was delicious too!) I did take quite a while both times for our food to be ready but it was worth the wait!

Yelp
Cool hipster local coffee shop in Barcelona. Yes it was good and yes I will be back.

Yelp
Cute little cafe. I googled pet friendly places to go and this popped up. There are a couple of tables outside but they were all full when I arrived. They allowed my dog and I on the table bench which was awesome. Everyone there speaks English so that was a plus! I didn't order anything crazy - just a glass of white wine. I saw a bowl of watermelon (which accompanied and entree) and they were nice enough to send me just a fruit bowl. It was off the menu so I didn't mind paying the extra (4.50€) By the way, that watermelon was so delicious. I'm going to need to pick one up on my way home. Next time I come back, I will definitely be eating some breakfast there.

Yelp
Wow Visiting from NYC I had high expectations to food and nice places. This has become one of my favorite spots because of the interior design and the delicious food :)

Leah B.

Yelp
Cute little neighborhood cafe. We opted with the outdoor seating, although the interior was also nicely decorated. Even though it was morning, I chose a turkey avocado sun dried tomato sandwich which was plentiful and an americano. My husband chose the toast with jam and a got a pistachio donut from next door. It was a quick stop for breakfast but it hit the spot.

Jim H.

Yelp
Cozy, delicious, charming. Open late. Loved the salads and the chocolate cake The menu is full of seasonal freshness and healthy choices. Many come for the juices but the machine was unavailable when I arrived. Many came and left disappointed during my stay so I'm guessing they do that very well.

Clémentine C.

Yelp
Favorite district in Barcelona & favorite coffee shop. The place is so cute you cannot resist ordering more than just one slice of cake! Also loved the hot chocolates with their ton of whipped cream! Charming for a cozy afternoon with friends.

Stephen N.

Yelp
This is just well at we needed. I great little breakfast joint walking distance from our flat. We both got the egg dish, but their pastries and juices looked amazing as well. Great service and food deserves 5 stars.

Dave F.

Yelp
We stumbled into this eclectic little cafe after dinner and had an amazing time. We ordered green jasmine tea, cortado, and the most delicious dulce de leche cake (surprisingly light with just the right amount of sweet). Service was great and atmosphere relaxing like a mini oasis in the middle of the city. Highly recommend it for post dinner dessert!

Stacy H.

Yelp
Fresh squeezed oj and avocado tomato toast :) service was great! Friendly servers, second floor has more tables

Giampiero S.

Yelp
Awesome place every detail is perfect for my style. From the type of food to the presentation to the style of the restourants. Love the wall full of framed posters. Prices are more than reasonable.

Tom J.

Yelp
We had a avocado/tomato sandwich and the Yoko which had a pink beethummus - super yummy and very fresh ingredients. Coffee was also good and they have oatmilk for a vegan latte option. But the highlight is definitely the carrot cake. And all the cool posters/paintings inside.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Great sandwiches, the "Fum" is my favorite. However, their service is pretty awful. I waited once for 15 minutes just before someone even came over to my table. I just wanted a café, but they refused to let me order from the bar.

Frederik W.

Yelp
Very nice breakfast out in the sun. Had a bikini sandwich, olive bread toast with cheese, ham, tomato and avocado. Super yum!

Janet S.

Yelp
Arrived in Barcelona early afternoon and wanted to find a place to grab some coffee and some food. This cafe proved to be the perfect place! The place was busy and bustling but still was very charming. I had the avocado sandwich with goat cheese (I added serrano ham as extra) and it was absolutely delicious. It was also a lot bigger than expected as well! I also ordered a carrot cake - it was dense but really satisfying. Overall highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for light food and coffee!

Scott S.

Yelp
Very cool cafe in the Sant Antoni area. Trendy interior and upstairs area that is perfect for studying. We got the Ariel salad and Tunzi sandwich. The salad had great tasting salmon and fresh avocado. The sandwich could have used more tuna in general, but the bread and veggies were on point. Coffee was also very good, especially the iced coffee which is quite unusual to find around Barcelona. Definitely gonna head back at some point!

Allie K.

Yelp
This was a super cute little cafe with some really tasty, big, and reasonably priced sandwiches! Also their bathroom was lovely with some informational posters to read. Recommend!

Ianthe D.

Yelp
I love love love this neighbourhood nearby the metro station Poble Sec. Feels like it hasn't been taken over by tourists yet. You'll find a lot of young spanish people hanging out here for lunch & brunch. The place is very well decorated, gave me a whole lot of ideas on how to pimp up vintage stuff with some flashy accents. The food is great too. There a great choice for breakfast and their lunch salads are healthy and very tasteful. Feels good to take a little break from the bread and fried stuff from the Spanish cuisine.

Amber L.

Yelp
This café was near where we stayed in Barcelona and is a lovely spot for breakfast and a coffee. The food is very fresh and tasty, my favourite was avocado on toast, simple, yet so lovely. The coffee is by Nomad and was one of the better coffee's I had in Barcelona. They do have a range of cakes, also some vegan friendly and a vast range of fresh juices. I went here nearly every morning. The staff all spoke English and were very friendly. It is a very hip looking café with a nice environment to sit in. I would recommend this place if you are in the area!

Raoul H.

Yelp
This was a small well run place. The staff was really nice. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend. The prices are very reasonable.

Oz H.

Yelp
Loved having breakfast at this coffee shop. Excellent espresso and croissant with ham and cheese! Great atmosphere inside and nice seats outside too. Other people know it's a great place, so it may be tough to find a seat. Helpful, friendly, multilingual staff!

Rachel G.

Yelp
This was our favorite breakfast in Poble Sec. Their juice mixes are delicious and their breakfast is hearty and healthy. We both got the Munch... and will probably come back for the exact same thing!

Pauline K.

Yelp
Basically the sister to Cosmo, they have the exact same menu! Cute little place with great juice and great salads. Everything is made fresh! Definitely recommend if your looking to eat something light and refreshing that will keep you energized for the day.

Alba P.

Yelp
Like it's brother Cosmo at Enric Granados street it is a very nice place in Parlament street, but a little bit smaller. It has a cute atmosphere and nice staff. They have a lot of awesome natural juices and amazing cakes.

Zee R.

Yelp
One of the best stops during my short weeklong visit! I had the salad with frutos de bosque, salmón, avocado, black sesame seeds, and yoghurt dressing. It was the most tasteful salad! It was simple, colorful, super refreshing, and so delicious all at once. I also had the matcha latte which was ok and my mom had the loose chamomile tea. It was definitely worth the walk from our hotel! And I would recommend it for lunch for sure as they also have a nice list of zumos!

Paris E.

Yelp
Fantastic fresh juices and great salads and sandwiches! They have a nice upstairs area with a few large tables for studying and excellent wifi. Would recommend for the Sant Antoni area.

Chloe S.

Yelp
This is an absolute gem! so fresh, so quaint and absolutely wonderful service. don't miss this place in Barcelona!

Josiah M.

Yelp
Incredible little place like its sister restaurant Cosmo. Had a delicious chicken & avocado sandwich, and the salads looked great too. Very good service and cool decor.

gina C.

Yelp
Yogurt-3.50 Yogurt with fruit (one apple) - 7€ Adding an apple to yogurt doubled the price. You'd think the server would let you know you're paying 3.50 for an apple. She charged me for a fruit salad because she didn't know how else to add the extra cost of one apple. Very disappointed in my experience here today. I normally recommend this place to visitors but not anymore. Also, the guy getting my friend's piece of cake to go touched it with unwashed hands that handled money and dirty plates. I'm not clean freak but that's basic hygiene. A bad experience overall. I won't head back or recommend this place unless management contacts me with an apology. I was embarrassed I brought my friend here.

Natural N.

Yelp
First up was the cortado. Phenomenal! Using locally roasted Nomad Coffee (Diedrich roaster) and pulled through a La Marzocco. That should explain their quality and dedication. The food had many highlights as well. The simplicity allowed the focus to gear towards the full flavor of each little dish that was delivered. The ideal way to start the morning.

Ali L.

Yelp
Great fresh juices and desserts, friendly staff and chill atmosphere. Loved the decor and cool photographs/ artwork. Definitely be back!

Catherine B.

Yelp
This was such a great find walking back from Montjuïc! Despite one of the waiters being slightly rude (solely because I wasn't speaking fluent Spanish, though I did attempt to speak with him in Spanish, to which he responded in English lol), the food and matcha latte were delicious! I got the chicken sandwich, I forget what it was called but it was amazing. Felt like I was in Williamsburg - super trendy, chill spot!

Sophia B.

Yelp
This place definitely has a strong hipster vibe. The staff were friendly, there is a large variety of breakfast options and they have delicious fresh juices. You can choose to make your own breakfast out of options provided, or order an egg, toast, fruit plus two additional foods, such as sausage and mushroom. My only criticism is that the eggs are cold and hard boiled. It looks like they have a very small kitchen, so I guess this makes it easier for them, but I would much prefer poached or scrambled eggs on toast, not a cold, hard boiled egg on the side.

Catherine A.

Yelp
An all-time favorite café of mine! Delicious food (the big veggie sandwich is particularly excellent), yummy juices (I could have a gallon of the Adán), and best of all really good specialty coffee. It's not often you can find a dirty chai in Barcelona! Plus the servers are all really lovely and the space is charming as well. No wifi, which for me is a good thing--it means people actually hang out there, not just work! All in all a fantastic experience. I went back several times while traveling to Barcelona, and enjoyed the surrounding Poble Sec neighborhood too.

Lorenzo P.

Yelp
We went to this small cafe too late into our holiday in Barcelona, we would have come here to have breakfast more times if we knew it before... Absolutely splendid, lovely food, nice staff and relaxed atmosphere, maybe not 100% typical Spanish, but we really loved it.

Andres B.

Yelp
lots of cafe businesses like this in this very food trendy area. its kind of basic, not great/not bad. cakes were quite good. some outdoor seating is nice. service a bit snooty. probably stop in again someday...

Myth B.

Yelp
Great coffee, fresh juices and salad. I wouldn't come here if you are in a hurry but if you have time to chill this is a sweet little spot.

Emily K.

Yelp
Excellent salad, good quality wifi. Guests who want to work on laptops are directed to smaller space upstairs, which is rather dark and not nearly as nice as the main space.

Bretton A.

Yelp
Great little cafe. The prices are very reasonable and the food was great. I was craving a vegetable juice and found this place. The juice was excellent and made to order. I ordered a cold brew which I haven't found in Europe thus far and I was blown away my its flavor. It was bottled elsewhere but still great. I recommend Cometa for anyone who wants artisan food and coffee at a reasonable price.
