Admittedly, it's partially my fault.
I came here today and with my awful Spanish I ordered an "Americano con un poco de latte." I mean leche, so when she said latte I realized my mistake. "Lo siento, americano con un poco de leche." They made my drink to go, as requested, and I paid with my card. When I was handed the receipt, it said 70 pesos! What the hell did I just pay for? The receipt said a latte for 58 pesos and an extra 12 pesos for milk.
I opened the lid and it was not a latte, it was most certainly an Americano with a tiny bit of milk. I asked why I was charged so much when an Americano was around 40 pesos. A girl at the counter helped translate, and I wasn't offered a very good explanation but the cashier handed me back 20 pesos.
I don't even understand how you'd order a latte with a bit of milk in it, as a latte is mostly milk. And they were very clear on it being an Americano, so why was I rung up as a latte? I don't think it was some rip-off-the-gringo deal, but it kind of ruined my experience at this coffee shop.
As for the coffee, it was pretty good. But I've had pretty good coffee around town for less than 50 pesos without such a difficult paying process. An Americano is usually around 30 pesos and a latte is around 40 pesos, so which is this place charging so much???
