Here for dinner supper. Thank you for the good service! Although the menu in French, we're super happy with this waitress that explains and introduce to us in English, wonderful! We got the seasoned salmon and vege tartare. And the creme brulee is superb! 1. Food is superb, they served them quite fast, but all are tasty! 2. Atmosphere is great inside, but outside is fully taken on a sunny day. Will probably come back again for the brunch and great services!

Super delicious food, great atmosphere and they have games 😍 We went here for brunch on our weekend trip to Lausanne because of a recommendation. Definitely worth it. The chocolate Balzac was the most delicious hot chocolate I've ever had. The pancakes with bacon and the cauliflower with garam masala were also amazing. They also have a lot of board games that you can just take. We played uno while waiting for the food which was not long at all, actually even though the place was packed. I think we'll come here again for brunch tomorrow 😊

The Cafè is close to the Lausanne train station. We came to the Café to grab some food late in the day. Everything was great and delicately presented.

Lovely outdoor seating with nice views of the lake. Expect a wait if you want to sit outside and don’t have a reservation. Interesting indoor details. Menu is in French so keep your phones translation app handy. Friendly but very busy staff with some English spoken. Flavorful dishes. Got the sausage with mustard, mashed potatoes and veggies and liked it. Large portions. Reasonably priced wine.

Great menu with locally sourced products. Vegetarian and vegan options available. I’ve been here a few times now and it’s always been a delight.

Pretty good food, I had pork chicks with rice.

I visited this place 2 years ago. It was nice. Today I visited again and ordered the same omelette. However the food quality is not as good as before. The omelette is too salty.

Don't expect any service if you don't speak French. It's a pretty place but they ignore you if you don't speak French. Took 40 minutes to get 1 glass of whiskey, and the place was half empty at the time of visit. The French table that sat down next to me half an hour after I arrived got their order before they finished their cigarettes. If my hotel wasn't next door I would not have even sat here for the 40 minutes.

Yelp
This cafe is cozy, but inside was really crowded and the tables are close together. It was very difficult to get to communicate with the staff. I could tell they were very busy but even when we called for them, they told us to wait and never came back to us. The menu does not have any English, and the staff did not really help us with that. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing! We got some coffee and this salami with bread, which were fine but we've had better coffee elsewhere. I'm not sure if I will come back here.

Yelp
Service here was excellent and expedient as well as friendly. The food was in good proportions not too expensive $18 CHP and delicious: We had green olives an omelette and salad.

Yelp
Not the friendly service I was expecting - the server I got was possibly the least helpful I've seen in Europe, dommage! They don't have an English menu fyi and have no desire to help you either. Ended up ordering just a cappuccino and it was pretty darn bad for what it cost. You could get much better ones at much cheaper places. Shame because there were plenty of tables to just sit and people watch and it seemed cozy with good reviews. However, I would absolutely not return.

Yelp
Went to Café de Grancy back in January, after a friend recommended it to me. Was super packed for lunch when I arrived, but luckily the waiter allowed me to sit at the lounge and order food. I ordered duck with sweet potato purée. Duck was cold and not very tender- I actually preferred the sweet potato purée and vegetables! Super expensive, mediocre food. Service was pleasant, albeit very slow (even for rush hour). At least I got to experience this well-known establishment!

Yelp
Good tartare, salmon risotto and ravioli. Cozy indoor dining area. Bushes surrounding patio give make the outdoor seating feel private. Very popular on Friday nights. Restaurant is very close to train station.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice, the staff is nice, the café itself is cute, but the food is just OK and it's reaaaaaaaaaaaally expensive for what you get. The hours are good (open until midnight most nights) so if you don't have other options this place is fine.

Yelp
Café de Grancy reminds me of old Coffee Shops in the Pacific Northwest. Students, Laptops and hipster atmosphere in this spacious coffee shop. Atmosphere 5/5: The atmosphere is perfect to work or study. Tables are usually free in the morning or afternoon except for Lunch or Dinner. The Café is also open every night until midnight. Tables and chairs are in an old style wood that gives some character to this restaurant. Food 3/5: I haven't tried the food but I heard it's descent. They apparently have a great Brunch on Sundays and you better reserve your table before heading there for Breakfast. The menu is available on their website as well. Service 4/5: Service is great and waitresses are really nice. They are quite responsive and always make sure you are doing good without being to pushy. Great place to chill, have a drink with a friend or just study/work on your laptop for 1hr or 2.

Yelp
Quite a nice place for week end brunches. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Quality is good, scrambled eggs are not over cooked and orange juice tastes like freshly pressed. I took the "John Steed" menu + Crêpe with goat cheese and ham. Very good and I spent 40chf. Pets and children (not that these are the same) are well accepted. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is wifi, news papers and magazines (in french) I recommend you book in advance, although if you are lucky you may be seated in a sofa with small table... Toilets are clean (at least when I went there). The booking think that is almost necessary removes a little bit of the spontaneous and relax atmosphere. I would also say that the place is a little lout, but a conversation is still possible. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Yelp
I used to really like Café de Grancy, mostly for their dinner menu and good dinner service. I went this morning hoping for some quiet time. It took the overworked staff to wait on me. I ordered a cappuccino, which was really not good. I took a sip with the steamed milk and I drank the glass of water I had asked for. The cappuccino tasted really bad and was expensive for the quality, 4.80.- The restaurant/café was noisy mostly because the phone kept ringing with a high pitch ringtone. The staff being overworked, each time some called, the phone rang an awful lot of times. One of the waitresses was really obnoxious and not very nice. Maybe this was a bad day at the Café de Grancy, but I am sure that I will not order a cappuccino next time I go. I will stick to water.

Yelp
I really enjoy Cafe de Grancy. They have really good tartar, wine, and the desserts are delicious. I've also had the pasta which is great. The location is good to central Lausanne and it has a bit of a French feel to it. The service could have been better. We seemed to be waiting around a lot for our wine, for the bill, and to pay. We are also Americans in Switzerland so this is a bit expected. Definitely make a reservation just in case because it fills up almost all nights. Casual atmosphere. Overall I would recommend it as a good spot to hit when you are in Lausanne.

Yelp
Excellent Location for Dinner. We enjoyed two of the salads variations very much ... Expect to pay 40 chf for a nice dinner per person

Yelp
Went to Cafe de Grancy for dinner not really knowing what to expect. It was close to my location and it seemed popular with the locals, so I decided to give it a shot. While they do have a entree menu their main claim seemed to me to be their tartars with salad. I ordered a salmon tartar and my friend ordered the beef. Both the tartars were excellent, but the salad was fairly plain and nothing to write home about. We were strangely not given a wine menu, but from a quick look online their wine menu seems to be fairly long and varied. Service was good, and while I muddled through ordering in French I noticed later that the waitresses seemed to speak a good deal of English, so don't be afraid to ask.

Yelp
Good food, good crowd, can easily get crowded hence book a table in advance especially if coming for brunch on either Saturday or Sunday.

Yelp
Best restaurant I have eaten at in Switzerland. Local, healthy, farm fresh, delicious food. Everything was amazing.

Alexander R.

Yelp
Great place, hip, funky. Yes, the prices may seem high - but people, you are not in Texas... The prices are average Swiss and ok for what you get. The fact that the place is packed every day speaks for itself. I go to Café de Grancy for a business lunch as well as with friends on a Saturday night or a Sunday brunch. It's pleasant, casual and relaxed. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This was another eatery I found close to the dorm where I stayed for a summer study abroad. The food is awesome!! The relaxing atmosphere is conducive for enjoying a meal with friends or by yourself. The food can be a bit pricey, but to be fair most of the restaurants in Switzerland are pricey. Yet, I was never dissatisfied with the food so I think its worth it. The wait staff are very friendly - one kindly offered me a blanket when the weather turned a bit chilly during an afternoon rain shower. Great food and great ambiance are worth the trip. Last, but not least, it is a right by a metro stop so its super convenient.

Yelp
Gorgeous place, funky and relaxed with really great friendly service. An eclectic mix of antique furniture and leather armchairs give it a really hip vibe. I'm new to Lausanne but struggled to find anything so cool in Geneva. I went for brunch one Sunday and went back the next for more! They have a good menu with everything from light options to healthy bites (salmon and avocado tartar - divine) and the most DELICIOUS cheese burger. It's a popular spot (for the Sunday brunch at least) so book in advance. And in good weather, ask for a table on the terrace. I can't wait to try it for dinner.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Prices do not match the food quality.
