lovely stay at this hotel.
We came from Luzern and were very pleasently welcomed at our stay. The room we stayed in wasn‘t really special, but to me, what mattered most was their little restaurant, right next to the rooms. We were greeted by very nice ad professional staff, and although there were a lot of people being served, we got our food timed right. The starter salad hat a very delicious sauce, followed by my main course fish from the geneva river with very thinly sliced potato chips accompanied by sauce. You could really taste the butter in which the fish was fried in! My mother ordered something off their specials which was pig trotters braised with cognac and Madeira (excuse my translation), along with Rösti (see menu). She first was skeptical, but once she took a bite, her skepticism vanished. At last, i ordered their chocolate dessert, made directly by them, just reheated again, for the middle to be runny. And my god, everything was just so delicious! We really weren’t expecting that, given the pretty basic, but still very comfortable room we stayed in. I also didn’t read this hotels reviews and trusted my mother with her decision. We sadly only stayed from saturday to sunday, so we couldn’t only enjoy this food once more, as they’re closed on sundays. Either way, I wan’t to thank the waitresses, who were kind, fast and could also speak some german!
I really didn’t know this little place we stayed in had so much history and I honestly would prefer coming again, than staying in or near a big place like in Montreux. Can only recommend.
