Food was good, they gave me a no sugar pancakes upon request. Nice and kind service. We also had a fruit bowl which was fine.

This coffee shop is easily one of the top three in Cuenca, if not the very best. The food is also outstanding, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Located in the heart of the city, it may not be the fanciest spot, but it has never disappointed me in the several times I’ve visited over the past five years. I highly recommend it to anyone, as finding truly great coffee in Cuenca can be a challenge.

We had breakfast at this pleasant spot which is a few minutes walk from Parque Calderon. It has two levels of seating, if you walk thru the upper level there are stairs down to the lower level, which is small but pleasant. The restaurant has free wifi, the SSID and password are listed above the door jamb on the upper level. Breakfast was very good, I had the Simple pancakes with fried eggs and bacon, and a bowl of fruit. The pancakes came with two syrups, maple and strawberry. Excellent! My wife had the Heartland, which was scrambled eggs, country fries, bacon and fruit. She was happy! Along with breakfast was two coffee con leches. A special treat was using the bathroom, tucked in a corner and designed for people under 5 feet tall. Cuidado con tu cabeza! As an added benefit, near the front door they have some racks of products for sale, various types of Ecuadorean coffee, honey, and other items.

Came for a coffee and pastry. No pastries, so shared one of their breakfast sandwiches. It was tasty. We weren’t aware that there are more coffee selections than what appear on the menu. Maybe next time.

Although the food itself was yummy, I would not return here as a result of the experience. I ordered a breakfast burrito. While eating, I noticed it didn't have tomatoes as advertised on the menu. At that point we asked the staff member if the burrito was supposed to come with tomatoes, and she responded with "No? The breakfast burrito doesn't have tomatoes..." And I nodded, said I might've remembered that from a different option I had seen on the menu, and continued eating. We later double-checked the menu and it did indeed have tomatoes listed for the breakfast burrito. We pointed this out to the staff member when we went to pay afterwards, and she double-checked with the staff in the kitchen, who said the tomatoes were cut up very small in the mix. We confirmed once again that there were no tomatoes in the dish, but proceeded to pay and prepared to leave. After the fact she apologized for the mistake, but we wish she had checked the menu right at the moment when we had mentioned the missing tomatoes (just a couple minutes after having received the dishes), instead of indirectly denying and then apologizing to us only after we brought this up again and confirmed (showing the menu) at the time of payment. Again, very tasty food, lots of options, nicely decorated cafe; but will not return as a result of this experience.

Ñucallacta knows how to make great coffee! I’ve had a lot of weak and super milky lattes recently but Ñucallacta’s latte was strong, smooth, and delicious. My husband enjoyed his iced coffee as well. The interior is beautiful and bright and the service was prompt. I didn’t try the food since I had just eaten lunch but it looked amazing.

Lovely coffee shop with WiFi and outlets available. They have a broad range of coffee options and beverages overall. We got a pour-over coffee and a caramel latte without sugar, and both were tasty.
