This restaurant is a great find and next to the Lennon wall so you can see a tourist site and follow with a fancy dinner. As far as the places we went this was the most expensive meal I had in Prague. The onion and cheese soup was good and if you like well expressed onion flavor then it is a solid choice. Not much is provided but it is good. The salad comes with some sort of horseradish vinaigrette I think. It was a mixed experience for our table, but I liked it. The steak they are know for was good and I'd save a piece of bread to finish the leftover sauce on the plate if I were you. I'd say a soup and an entree is enough to sate, but not fill the average person which is good if you are planning to walk a bit more afterwards. All in all it was a good experience, however, two minor detractors made the experience less good for me. First, when I asked if they had a cocktail menu the response I got was a little bit like I had asked a dumb question. Second, the creme brulee was not very good. It comes in a wide and shallow dish and has some bits hot and some cold which was weird. I'd just get dinner here and grab dessert somewhere else. The cappuccino I got with dessert was very good though, but really small. I'd say this place was worth experiencing, but not worth the price to come to regularly.

This place is a must for it’s history in the city! It definitely have a special appeal that you can feel when you cross the entrance. I wasn’t mad for the Czech breakfast- no fault on the ingredients that were of great quality - but the bread and cake were delicious.

Amazing French restaurant in Prague and definitely one of the best choices in the city center. Beautiful place with great food! I had their signature entrecote and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were really attentive and made the whole experience even better. This is truly a hidden gem in Prague, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Today, I visited Cafe de Paris with my partner, hoping for a memorable experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. We entered from the side near the John Lennon wall, but the doors were closed, and the waiter in the window just looked at us and went away( we thought that it’s closed) and no one informed us that the entrance was actually around the corner. Once inside, the decor was lovely, but no one greeted us or offered to seat us. The first picture actually is the first beautiful room. Despite there being only two other tables, we were seated in a less pleasant area on the room on the second picture near the passage.(even the decorations and furniture is totally different and looks not that aesthetic) The service was less than welcoming — when I declined dessert, the waiter gave an awkward smirk, and despite my partner speaking English, all attention was directed at me. As for the food, the French onion soup was far from authentic, with an overwhelming amount of onions and an unpleasant cheese texture(it looks horrible and the taste was sour)The steak, which the restaurant is known for, didn’t live up to expectations either; the sauce lacked the depth and freshness you'd find in France. The fries and salad were fine, but nothing special. The atmosphere didn’t live up to the experience I was hoping for, as the kitchen’s warmth and energy were far from our table. When we paid, there was no attempt to engage with us, and the waitress gave a cold farewell, which felt dismissive. Overall, while the restaurant has potential, my experience left much to be desired. I had hoped for more, and sadly, it didn’t live up to the expectations.

Today I visited Cafe de Paris for a coffee and a small dessert. I had Creme Brulee (see photo) which was quite disappointing. The taste was terriblly milky, not much vanilla. Sugar crust was very sweet - probably bad choice of type of sugar. Coffee could be from machine, not nespresso. Atmosphere is nice, but the carpet in the foyer is covered by dust and stains. Not bad, but not suitable for such tyoe of place. Service was fine and professional.

Google
Amazing place, it was the first restaurant I went to when I came to Prague 10 years ago. I still order the same thing, the entrecôte, because it is that good. I always recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Prague, for its nice atmosphere, staff and food. Perfect for a date!

Google
Do not go there for food. I was excited to go there and try some signature French cuisine dishes but it was a complete disappointment. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is trying but still it was far from the best service, especially considering the price category of the place. The wine card is uninteresting and rather small for the place like that. My partner and I ordered each an onion soup and foie gras to share. We couldn’t finish either because the taste was far from traditional. Overall, do not recommend

Google
Amazing place and one of the best in Prague for sure. The service is efficient but could use a bit of warmth 😆 The onion soup looked weird but surprisingly tasted amazing. Didn’t enjoy the escargot that much. The star of the show was the steak fries with their secret sauce and a side of sharp well made salad to balance all that 👍🏻 really delicious and well cooked.

Yelp
The food here was amazing, we loved it so much we had to come back again. I ordered the grilled octopus and it was absolutely stunning! Plus the service here was top notch and Ingrid in particular was very helpful and made us feel right at home. The vibe here is as well wonderful, the inside is fancy with plenty of space for large groups and big meals and they even include space outside for when you want to take in the breeze or if you want to look around at the streets of Prague!

Yelp
French style cafe opposite the French embassy. Stylish and comfortable, quiet in the middle of busy Mala Strana.

Yelp
This delicious restaurant is not to be missed. Located next to the Lennon Wall, it's easy to find. The Entrecôte comes in a savory secret sauce with crisp fries and a salad. The red wine we chose (Saint Emilion La Croix Meunier) was the perfect complement. This is the 7th time we have eaten here in the 7 times we have visited Prague. Since discovering this gem, we have never missed eating here.

Yelp
I really don't have any complaints about my meal at Cafe de Paris. Me and a few friends were visiting from the States and we decided to stop by for their steak and fries, which they are famous for. One person from our group had been here before and said it was worth the visit. We decided to drop by one evening and we were not disappointed. Let's start with some of the things other than the food. I thought that they service was very good. Our waiter checked on us very frequently, and made us feel at home. There was even another waitress that would stop by on occasion and check in. We were well taken care of by the staff. They were good at always asking if we needed drinks etc. Also, the ambiance was great! Very quiet place in a great location in Prague. They are most famous for their steak and fries which is in essence, a delicious steak smothered in creamy herb sauce and served over a bed of fries. I had high expectations, but I can honestly say that my expectations were met. The sauce was so good, I could have put it on a piece of cardboard and still enjoyed the meal... IT WAS THAT GOOD. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium consistency. It was also served with a nice little salad. If you are looking for an American-ish type salad while in Europe, this fit the bill for sure. Next time I am in Prague, I will most certainly be back here.

Yelp
Oh my. EVERYTHING about this place was excellent. Food? check. Service? check. Price? Check. If you want French quisine in Prague, I highly recommend it. My only complaint? I didn't have the fois gras and the guy at the next table did.... And he loved it

Yelp
Very nice, cozy place at Malá Strana. Interior is decorated with Mucha posters. There are two rooms and nice garden in the yard. It´s a french restaurant so obviously meals are based on french cuisine. I definitely recommend onion soup or tartar with truffels as a appetiser. As a main dish I love beef steak with home made french fries and sauce which is a culinary secret (I mean the sauce) of Cafe de Paris. They don´t tell you the ingrediences but it tastes damn well. Of course they have a very good wine list. Atmosphere is very friendly and the service is excellent. Always with smile and nothing is problem. It´s one of those places to where you always return because you know that you will have a great time.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the best places to go have a dinner with friends. Thanks to homy and really friendly atmosphere, their awesome meals that can be shared and the attentive staff, this place is going to make any occasion special. I can highly recommend it for brunches, friends gathering as well as chilled romantic dinners.

Yelp
I really can't complain about my brief visit here. I arrived in a large group of over 10, and they were very accommodating and sat us in a room with a miniature John Lennon wall! I just ordered the French onion soup, which was as salty as all Czech food but very tasty. The onions were a perfect texture, and mozzarella was extremely stretchy and delicious. I loved the interior, and the second you walk in you feel the elegance of the space and see the decorated Eiffel Tower. Service was kind as well. I also tried my friend's cider, which I enjoyed the taste and presentation.

Yelp
Cafe de Paris is definitely a hidden gem in Prague. Personally, I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking across the Charles Bridge. At first, the name of the restaurant didn't catch my eye because I was like they probably sell French food and I had already came from Paris that week. But my gut was telling me to go inside because of the good smell of food... lol!!! Good thing I went inside because I found one of the greatest unforgettable restaurants in my life! The staff was so friendly, speaking english and telling me their best dish which was steak and fries! I ordered it and didn't know what to expect of it, but oh, the moment the dish came out to my table, it was mouthwatering!! A huge piece of steak, which was kindly cut for us by the staff, was served on a platter with the most amazing sauce ever and the fries were also delicious! Hands down the best restaurant ever!

Yelp
This is the restaurant where you will feel like at home, or even better, more romantic and more celebratory. So small, so predictable, but nevertheless - I keep coming and coming for various occasions. For private dinners, for business lunches, for reunions, for farewell parties. I am always very pleased with everything: with the atmosphere, service, food and wine ... If you are coming in the summer time, try the terrace setup. It is nice, the courtyard has its beautiful patina, you will feel that the time would fly by so slowly! For the terrace food, go with the cold cucumber soup, with a delicious salmon, and combine it either with Prosecco, or with a very strong ginger lemonade, bottled in U.K. For a cold romantic evening, dine inside. Start with a fantastic Onion Soup or Tuna Tartar, and continue with their impressive signature dish, the Entrecote Café de Paris, with a secret and super-delicious herb sauce and home-made fries, and a very fresh green salad (meat-fries-salad, all together at 299 Kc). Pair it with a Languedoc-Roussillon Prestige Rose bottle of wine (899 Kc). I bet you would like to prolong such a wonderful experience, so no worries, have a sweet ending The selection of desserts would be my tip. Hmm, can't wait to come next!!!

Yelp
This is a little gem of a Bistro. The service was very congenial and all the dishes were marvelous: the onion soup had a depth of flavor that tells you without a doubt this didn't come from a onion dip mix. The dinner salad was a mix of very fresh greens very lightly dressed, although the dressing had a bit more horseradish than I would have liked. My main course, the entrecôte, could have come out of a Paris kitchen. The bernaise sauce was buttery, laced with fresh armomatic tarragon that filled the air with its oh-so appetizing aroma. The frites, as another review has noted, are very tasty. However, I am inclined to think that the extra flavor dimension comes from animal fat (I certainly can't claim to know for sure). We're so used to fries cooked in vegetable oil, we've forgotten how good they can be. (Some might remember how good McDonalds fries used to be back in the 1970's until they bowed to social pressures and switched to vegetable oil). I find it a treat here in Europe where from time to time I run across a kitchen that hasn't compromised its cooking and prepares frites the good old fashion way.

Yelp
We had dinner here on Sunday, Sept. 29 2018, our first day of an eight day excursion through Central Europe. The food was very good, the presentation and service not so much. We have been to Paris and ordered Steak Frites, but were served the entree all at once, not as was my wife here in three separate servings from a candle heated warming plate, with the server dropping frites on the table all three times. The on-line menu stated they had mussels, a major reason for booking a table, but they weren't serving them. So, I had the French Onion Soup and the Tortilenni which were good, but I wanted mussels. Being our first dining experience in Central Europe we didn't understand the format of the bill. Our inquiry resulted in our server waving a bottle of tap water from the bar in my face. In summary, the kitchen is very good, but the serve staff is not up to par.

Yelp
Exceeded our expectations. Checked it out in the afternoon and thought this would work out for us. Returned for dinner and thought we made a mistake only one other couple. Gave it a try and boy we lucked out. I had asparagus soup and a delicious chicken. My wife had onion soup and an excellent salad. Both excellent. It was so quiet you able to talk without yelling. The service was equally excellent, and the price was truly reasonable.

Yelp
Great little Parisian restaurant on the quieter side of the river with indoor and back patio seating. Especially nice spot for a date night although families would feel welcome here, too. I did the Secret Special Recipe'd beef dish and found it to be fine. With all the hype on the menu I was kind of expecting something slightly more powerful but it was delicious all the same. NOTE: This place does NOT accept credit cards. We came here because we were out of local currency and Yelp indicated that credit cards were accepted. Needless to say, I had to go on a long hike after dinner to find an ATM. Fortunately, they were kind enough to not make my girlfriend wash dishes while I was trying to find cash.

Yelp
A tucked away cute Parisian restaurant with a tiny menu. The food is executed well although possibly not well enough for the pricing. A great place for a lady's brunch or date night! I went with a group of 4 others and 3 kids, so they are capable with children. While we were there, two women also walked in with their kids (5 and younger). None of the waiters looked upset and they were all very pleasant. The waitstaff is friendly and more formal, so I imagine at night you would want to dress nicely. During the day, casual is acceptable. The outdoor patio, while very small, is adorable. There are a few more tables inside, but overall, I imagine no more than 40-45 could dine at once. So make a reservation! The menu consists of about 2 starters, 1 soup, 1 salad, and 3 entrees. It's very small but all seemed well executed! We ordered the French Onion Soup - and then ordered it again because it was delicious! The house salad had a very spicy but delicious dressing and felt super fresh. The foie gras dish was so smooth with a great jam pairing. There was a seasonal pea soup offered that was beautifully presented (it looked like art). The portion did seem a bit small, especially given the price, however it was delicious. Everyone else at the table ordered the steak which is Cafe de Paris' specialty. In fact it is the dish the restaurant was built around! They serve it almost family style, except the waiters dish it out and take it away to keep it warm while you finish your first serving (you can have seconds). At first this confused me - I thought they took the remainder of my steak away for another table! But they brought it back as well as more fries. In the end, the serving size was perfect. If I had a larger appetite (of a man who works out or has a high metabolism) I may have still been hungry though. The steak sauce was VERY herby. Almost too many herbs for my taste and not enough...other components to make it well rounded. It was still absolutely delicious, but after hearing how amazing it was all afternoon, it didn't live up to that. The total bill was quite high for what we ordered - although I can't compare it to other Prague restaurants, as I'm not that familiar with them, I was surprised. I would definitely recommend this as a stop for lunch if you're near the Prague Castle, or as a special date night!

Yelp
If it wasn't for the service, this review would be 2 stars. I'm puzzled at the high marks for this place firstly, because the food is just ok. I almost always have visits to restaurants that coincide with reviews on Yelp, this was not one of them. Regarding the food, there wasn't much of a selection. Beef with fries and then goat cheese ravioli. There were a few other main course options, but not many. I choose the beef and despite requesting for "medium" cooked meat upon being asked, my meat was quite rare. While I didn't complain for fear of being thought the I'm the grumpy American tourist, I ate about 3/4 of the meat with "special sauce"...which was good, but certainly nothing special. The bread and salad was tasty, but again nothing special. Lastly, the restaurant doesn't take credit or debit cards. Thankfully I was recently equipped with the local currency, but had I come 12 hrs previously, I wouldn't have been. Its just a head scratcher considering the location of the restaurant. All that said, the service was very good...not 5 stars good, but certainly a 4. In all, I'd only recommend this place if you're really in need of some french-ish cuisine and atmosphere.

Yelp
Loved their entre cote. One of the best I have tried so far. Their crepe ganache is to die for and so is their foie gras with freshly baked baguette! Location not far away from the Charles Bridge cannot be any better....
