Café De Plak

This place is an absolute gem! From the delicious food to the friendly staff, great music, and the location…the list goes on. Everything comes together to create that homey atmosphere. It’s become our go-to spot from the very first time. The “Kaasgehakt” is obviously a highlight, love that the garnishes change every time, keeps things exciting! 😀 The fries are always great, but also try the rice sometime, it’s amazing.

A lovely place, showing it's collectivist culture in it's design and in the employees. I had the kaasgehakt, which was delicious, but also the vegetables serves with it were exquisitely spiced. Would warmly recommend!

Very vegan-friendly restaurant (the vegan mayonnaise was among the best I ever had). The food was delicious and the staff super nice albeit a bit stressed. The place was packed with people, however we didnt have to wait too long for our food.

De Plak never disappoints and always have friendly staff in combination with good food. Vegan Kaasgehakt Burger is what I ordered plus chips, it’s so comforting. The chips are always in a sharing bowl so be sure to ask for separate chips if this is not your jam. Coffee and hot chocolates are divine. The girls always enjoy having their chocolate chips to add to the hot milk.

Wow! Just wow. This cafe is truly a gem and my favourite place I visited on my vacation to Europe. Amazing vibes, delicious vegan food and the friendliest staff. I came here everyday for coffee, drinks and lunch. I even talked to the staff about the Café’s rich history and its contribution to social justice movements. Incredible stuff and a place for everyone to enjoy. Definitely recommend stopping in here! 💙🤞🏽

Ordered their curried tofu burger and chips. The burger was okay, however the Fries were a bit too salty, not sure if that is a thing in Nijmegen. Overall a great place to hangout with food and drinks.

Great food with many different and creative options, also vegan. They got a very nice atmosphere, great music and even board games. Very LGBTQ+ friendly, and even got things for kids to draw. I would say that this is a cafe for everyone.

Sorry this review is in English! VERY good food here with both vegetarian and vegan options. Best vegetarian food I've had in Schengen.

Lucked into a great meal at this "collective"- had Moroccan Beef stew with pumpkin. 2nd person had Fish Skewers with lime basil salsa. Both perfect. Three- four salads, vaggies, potatoes rice included. Mostly organic, all prepared well. Games on shelves and lots of 20- somethings playing Yahtzee, etc but all ages were here.

My favorite place in Nijmegen. I have been there several times and I am always very happy about the food, the friendly people working there, and the great atmosphere. This place also serves only ecological food (and most drinks) and has a very large selection for vegetarians!
