I heard a lot about its wood fried pizza so went there in the hope of good food. It's a minute walk from picture palace so till picture palace you may take a golf cart or rickshaw or simply walk. Once you reach you can see an old cafe with Victorian vibes. The pizza was actually spectacular but what sparkled my heart was the blueberry cheesecake and even the baked cheesecake. Not everyone can serve good cheesecakes, but they had the fine ones. Coffee was also good. Staff were polite and friendly. Overall I enjoyed there and would love to visit again. Home Search Trips

The vibe of this place is truly inviting — great ambiance paired with impressive service. We tried their wood-fired pizza, which was decent but nothing exceptional. The drinks, too, were fairly average. They do serve alcohol, adding to the café/restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere. Overall, it’s a good spot to hang out, with nominal pricing that makes it worth a visit.

I recently visited Cafe De Tavern, located on Mall Road in Mussoorie, and had a wonderful time. The café has a warm, rustic vibe with a cozy ambiance that fits perfectly with the hill station mood. I ordered the Wood-Fired Farmhouse Pizza, and it was absolutely fantastic. The base was thin and crisp with a nice smoky touch from the wood fire, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful — loaded with veggies and just the right amount of cheese. The staff was friendly and the service was smooth. If you’re in Mussoorie and looking for a good place to enjoy wood-fired pizza with a great atmosphere, this place is definitely worth checking out!

The place boasts a cozy ambiance with tasteful interiors and is usually bustling in the evenings. However, it falls short on delivering a personal touch. The management seems to operate on the assumption that footfall is guaranteed, neglecting the importance of engaging with customers to create a memorable experience. Upon arrival, there was no assistance in finding a table, and we had to seat ourselves—ironically at a table that was soon claimed by others entering the venue. The lack of coordination was evident. Service was notably slow, with waitstaff taking an inordinate amount of time to take orders and serve, despite the full house, which clearly required better focus and efficiency. As for the food, it was satisfactory overall. The cocktails were impressive, but the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the pastry. Fresh, tender, and absolutely delightful—it made up for the otherwise lackluster experience. While I might return, it would solely be for the bakery offerings, which truly stand out.

Food 2star - quality seems to be fine but the servers don't know what is what. The one in photo is cookies cream shake. But the server mentioned particularly that this is oreo shake and staff supports him. Service is utter non sense. Atmosphere seems decent but not up to the mark of what they claim. No maintenance. Below is the food left because of worst service, worst taste, worst waiters behaviour and altogether not a suggestible place.

Café De Tavern, located on Mall Road in Mussoorie, is a vibrant and cozy café that offers a great ambiance and friendly service. The wooden interiors, live music vibes, and charming hill-town setting make it a perfect place to unwind with friends or family. If you’re a non-veg pizza lover, this place is a must-visit — their authentic wood-fired pizzas are full of flavor, especially the chicken and pepperoni variants which are highly recommended. However, for vegetarians, the menu might feel a bit limited, especially when it comes to pizza options. Though they do offer a few veg pizzas, the variety doesn’t match the non-veg range. So if you’re a vegetarian looking for diverse choices, you might want to check the menu beforehand. Their drinks menu is decent, and the overall food quality is good with reasonable pricing considering the location. Service is generally quick, and the staff is polite. Overall, a great café for non-veg lovers and a good hangout spot on Mall Road.

Nestled in the heart of Mussoorie’s bustling Mall Road, Café de Tavern is a charming and cozy spot that offers more than just great food — it offers a slice of Mussoorie itself. With its inviting ambiance, warm lighting, and creative menu, this cafe is a perfect blend of local spirit and contemporary flair. Each dish is cleverly named after iconic places around Mussoorie, making your dining experience feel like a flavorful tour of the hill town. We began our culinary journey with the James Skinner Peri Peri Fries — a generous serving of golden, crispy fries tossed in a bold peri peri spice mix. Served piping hot, the fries struck a satisfying balance between crunch and softness, with a fiery kick that lingered pleasantly on the palate. A perfect start, especially for those who love a little heat. Next up was the GNFC Classic Pull-Apart Garlic Bread infused with truffle oil. This was a standout dish — soft, buttery bread with a beautifully crisp exterior, oozing with aromatic garlic and a subtle earthiness from the truffle oil. The cheese pull was just right, and the portion size generous enough to share (though you may not want to). For the main course, we chose the Vincent Hill Delight Pizza, and it truly lived up to its name. The thin, perfectly baked crust served as the base for a rich duo of béchamel and pomodoro sauces, which provided both creaminess and tang. The toppings — grilled mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, and crispy spinach — were fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully balanced, offering a medley of textures in every bite. To complement the food, we sipped on the Pineapple Mint Mojito — a refreshing mocktail made with pineapple chunks, muddled mint leaves, brown sugar, and topped with Limca. It was light, tropical, and palate-cleansing, making it a great accompaniment to the bold flavors of our meal. We also tried the Hampton Berry Cocktail, a delightful blend of gin, mixed berries, fresh malta syrup, lime juice, and mint. The drink was well-balanced, fruity yet not overly sweet, with a citrusy zing and a refreshing finish — perfect for a breezy Mussoorie evening. Over all, Café de Tavern is more than just a cafe; it’s an experience. Whether you’re in for a quick bite, a hearty meal, or just a well-crafted drink, the combination of thoughtful food, creative concept, and location makes this a must-visit when in Mussoorie. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals looking for a memorable, flavorful break.

I must say it was a wonderful experience of pizza in Mussoorie. We also had baklava which is also good. You can try pull apart garlic bread as well. Allover we went 3-4 times over there and we enjoyed the food, service was good, staff is supportive, ambiance is wonderful and wibe is cool. Add this to your bucket list whenever visiting Mussoorie.
