Cafe del Mar

One of the best cafés in Varkala. We had been here for lunch on our last day at Varkala. The Ambience was really good. The seating area was spacious. Toilets were clean. Service was good too. Food was delicious especially Italian pasta was delicious. Chicken fried rice, soup and salad too were good. Overall would recommend this Cafe to others.

One of the best cafes in this stretch of Varkala! The Italian food is awesome and a must try. The overall menu is varied and has a lot of options. The ambience and seating is good but it does tend to be crowded at times. Cost is justified for the food provided. Service is good but can take time depending on the crowd

The food was tasty overall. The pizza itself was good, but the chicken salami topping was less enjoyable in my opinion — it was cut very thick and didn’t feel as I expected. The salad was made with fresh and flavorful vegetables. There was a generous amount of avocado and a smaller amount of mozzarella, but overall it was very tasty. In general, it was a good experience. The prices are on the higher side, but it was still perfectly fine. Thank you.

Amazing Italian food, great drinks & stunning view! Cafe del Mar on the North Cliff is one of the best spots in Varkala for Italian cuisine and drinks with a beautiful sea view. The ambience is perfect, especially during sunset, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The pasta, pizza, and other Italian dishes are flavorful and fresh, and the drinks (coffee, juices, mocktails) pair wonderfully with the vibe. Prices are reasonable — great value considering the location and quality. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants on the cliff! 🍝🍹🌅

I tried their pizza and it was actually really good. Cheesy, crunchy base, cooked just right. The kind of pizza that doesn't disappoint. The view? Not great. Don't come here expecting beach views like other places. But at night, the place looks nice with the lights. Good ambience for dinner. And honestly, when the pizza is this good, u don't really miss the view.

Nice buzzing place at Varkala cliff walking street. Service was decent Food was decent too. Nothing to rave about, but couldn't complain either. Pizza seemed to be the most commonly dish ordered here from what we observed. It was nice. I found food generally a little on the bland side, with lower salt usage. Overall, amongst the many restaurants on this street, Cafe Del Mar is one of the better ones. It does get very crowded and finding a seat during peak time is difficult.

Food was amazing, especially the Kerala Kozhi Chicken Roast with Kerala Parotta — absolutely delicious and authentic. The Alla Arrabbiata Pasta was also good. The Mocha Chiller turned out quite sweet even though we requested less sugar. Possibly due to a sweeter chocolate used — giving them the benefit of the doubt. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth visiting for the food. Service can be hit or miss depending on which staff member you interact with. Some waiters may seem to avoid eye contact, while others are very responsive — even from a distance, a simple hand signal is enough to get help with the menu, water, or the bill.

Cafe del Mar is a lovely place to relax and enjoy good food by the sea. Really liked the food-fresh, well prepared and full of flavour. Visited for Breakfast, lunch and dinner during my recent 3 night stay in Varkala. The ambience is clam and inviting with a laid-back vibe that perfectly matches Varkala's coastal charm.
