Café Delmas

What a lovely cafe on a picturesque square twinkling with Christmas lights. It was cold sat outside but we came to Paris to sit outside a cafe! Lovely coffee & crêpes. Friendly staff and quick service. Reasonably priced and blankets provided!

Such a lovely spot in Paris. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which instantly made the experience feel warm and relaxed. The crêpe was delicious—fresh, well-made, and exactly what I was craving. Everything was simple but done really well, and I left feeling completely satisfied. If you’re looking for a cozy café with great service and a tasty crêpe, Café Delmas is an easy recommendation.

Beyond thunderdome. So French, world class chill sunny afternoon in February it was PACKED. Had the snails, an amazing soup and detox drink and a tomato juice w accompanying setup that was precious.

Consider that Each one of you have to order! We ordered coca cola, bear and french fries. It was ok. But the staff seems not friendly that much. I wont go again.

Love the atmosphere especially in the room on the side of the cafe, very cozy! Staff is nice and food is delicious!

A bit off the main tourist attractions, but still very popular—there were plenty of customers. If you’re sitting outside on a sunny day, be prepared for the heat as there are no sunshades, which can get uncomfortable. Prices are on the higher side. We wanted to try the daily special, but unfortunately, they had already run out of beef. Overall, the lunch menu was quite limited if you’re looking for a proper meal. The burger patty was cooked perfectly medium, but it was quite watery and lacked flavor. On the other hand, the others at our table really enjoyed their Caesar salad and yellow fish dish. Definitely try the vitamin C juice—it was a hit!

The loveliest people work here — genuinely friendly, kind, and welcoming. They greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel completely at ease, constantly checking in to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The cocktails were beautiful, delicious, and full of flavor. Desserts were lovely and the coffee strong and satisfying — a perfect way to finish the experience. But truly, it’s the staff that makes this place shine. Their warmth and hospitality are what turn a good visit into an unforgettable one. Absolutely five stars for the team!

This is a magical place … if want to try a real french cuisine you should come here … Really good team manage by Tirso excelente customer service they make you feel warm and welcoming…

I have lots of great memories associated with this cafe and the streets nearby: this is where I stayed when I first visited Paris in 2009 as a tourist. Some of the best people-watching in the area is at this cafe. Order the hot chocolate on a cold day. :-)

The food was delicious. The service was great, especially from Oscar! Such a tentative young man with a wonderful positive attitude! Thank you for making our experience on our last night in Paris so wonderful Oscar.

I should have look at the reviews.... :( We had the worst salad and pizza in paris. Don't go, period. There are plenty others restaurants in the place.

SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. This place is telling Americans that all of France isn't accepting American credit cards and making them get out cash at the ATM down the street. And, despite their lies and petty response to this review, they didn't even attempt to run our card a single time! LOL Enter at your own risk!!

Had breakfast with my wife. We had eggs Benedict, crepes and scrambled eggs. Both plates came with a salad. Everything was very fresh, visually pleasing, and delicious.

The service was fast, the staff spoke english which was helpful since my high school french is very rusty. But the food wasn't just ok. I asked the waiter which he would recommend between the bass and the pork belly and he suggested the pork belly. It was obvious from the rubbery texture on the top of the potatoes and the barely warm temperature of the pork belly that the plate had been sitting under a light for some time. It was probably a very tasty dish when it was first prepared but it was just edible by the time it arrived in front of me. Disappointing when a restaurant doesn't take pride in the food they serve.

First of all we're completely in love with Rue Mouffetard and the Place de la Contrascarpe and Delmas sits in the perfect location there. A violin player serenaded us while we had lunch. We both shared a Goat Cheese salad and just hung out for a couple of hours over that and iced coffee & beers. I found the service to be friendly and attentive. I'd go back here in a heartbeat.

This is a pretty nice restaurant, it will not be a quick cheap option, but treat yourself! I had a pleasant evening eating dinner here and I was able to eat snails for the first time! They were actually really good and served with a pesto sauce, yum! Anyways, nice spot, in the evening you will hear some live music, you'll be able to feel the buzz of the people around, and it's nice to see everyone and be so close to them! Hope this helps!

Can I just say the food yummy, Place De La Contrescarpe was an amazing backdrop, and servers were fantastic - smiling, laughing, joking, just all around adorable! We were in awe of people watching the staff, extremely happy people. Then there was "Nick"...I aptly named this waiter after grumpy Nick Miller from New Girl. He was our waiter the first night and refused to crack a smile, try as we might. This restaurant is a DO, but watch waiters and if you see "Nick Miller", sit in a different waiter's section. Other than that, enjoy and stay a while!

Extra star for the location and fabulous people-watching. We had brunch here; I ordered a Nutella crepe that was (hellooooo, it had Nutella in it) dee-licious. That and a double espresso and I was ready to face my day! Really loved sitting outside in the morning sun watching the world go by. Gorgeous area, perfectly situated.

I thought Cafe Delmas was a bit overpriced for my liking. The beer was about 8 euro and my wife's cocktail was 12. Nothing special really, but a good spot for sitting outside and enjoying a drink. The free wifi was a good touch. Service was decent but nothing special.

I had a special evening on New Year's '09 and had a great meal. I can see why many Parisians would not like it but they do sell Berthillon ice cream. I had a wonderful beef welling ton with foie gras and duck breast wrapped in a lovely philo dough. It was a quiet night and a great atmosphere and it will always have a spacial place in my heart.

While Cafe Delmas was one of the best meals I had in Paris, I couldn't help but feel a little raped by the steep prices. The great location coupled with free wifi help ease the pain a little. ("delmas" is the wifi password, btw...) Relaxing on the outdoor patio, watching the sun set on a perfect spring night is a quintessential Paris experience. For my meal, I ordered the chicken breast and risotto. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were equally impressive. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the risotto was a creamy delight. My accompanying cocktail was merely average, though. If the food hadn't been as good, or the location not as spectacular, I would have called Cafe Delmas ridiculously overpriced. As it is, if you're willing to splurge a little, you can have a great time sitting, relaxing, and watching the world go by.

There service was on point there snobby attitude towards Americans was stereotypically on point as well. There food was above average. I guess we're spoiled that we have a Great hometown spot in Brentwood #Caps #CapsOakStreetBarandGrill that serves better food with a cheers bar environment.Giving us those European specials created by Vasillis himself.Now that I'm a worldwide traveler searching for the finest places to eat, drink, and party I can say,.. stay in Brentwood and go To Caps!! It's cheaper I the long run

What a super place for breakfast. Really quick service and charming. I had Nutella crepes with raspberries. Delicious!!!!

Our first night back in Paris. We found the entire staff to be hospitable and efficient. The restaurant has a great youthful vibe. Demetri, manager, did a great job attending to us-very kind, very efficient, very professional! This is close to many universities so it's filled with students but also attracts middle aged people too.

Cute place for crepe or quick lunch. Nice place to sit and watch people. Would definitely be back if I were in the the 'hood.

Great breakfast! Lovely way to start your day in Paris. For 11euros you get coffee or hot chocolates, soft-boiled egg with toast strips, a croissant plus additional toast and butter and a wonderful glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. Add to this free wifi and a lovely view of the square and you're all set to face the crowds while touring.

Le formule is the best petit dejeuner around. Freshly squeezed OJ, croissant et pain, buerre et confiture, cafe, et un oeuf in shell.

Can only speak to the coffee we had which was only fine by french standards. The cafe is in a great location on the Latin quarter and worth a stop for people watching before you keep wandering.

Perfect placement In chilly December this large and polished bistro's south-facing spot on a charming square was welcome. There are several different seating options and we first chose to stay just inside the windows for appetizers and drinks. The sidewalk tables were protected by clear plastic shielding but still were too cold for us. The andouillette sausage was excellent and there's a good selection of beer. We returned with new friends for dessert and drinks, sitting further inland. Nothing special but all very adequate and we were able to find a table that was somewhat shielded from noise.

I love to sit outside here and watch the people milling around the Contrescarpe and down Mouffetard. It gets the 4 stars mostly for the location. And the fact that the waiter was actually friendly. In Paris no less!

Had crepes here for lunch 12/18/10. They were pretty good. Place de la Contrescarpe is a cute street.

First off, the view is fantastic. The fountain in the central area is extremely calming on a bright Spring day. The service was good for a very busy place where we were packed in pretty tight. The avocado salad was, well, an avocado. The burger was quite delicious. The mozzarella pizza was really really tasty. Salmon tartare was good. The brunch special was massive with an excellent croissant. A great place for a relaxing brunch with family or friends or alone!

Fair prices for very fine food on a beautiful square in the heart of the 5th Arr. Whether you are having a cafe au lait with a croissant at breakfast or a full meal for dinner, this place will give you what you want.

Had to explicitly ask for a food menu, then waited 30 minutes to place an order while the waiter made several trips to other tables, left in disgust. Pathetic, even by Euro standards.
