Quality has remained consistently good over the years and the interior decor has remained unique. Had the fisherman's platter and hot chocolate and both were delicious. The waitress serving us was friendly and we didn't have to wait long to get our food.

A small place in the region that is guaranteed to give you a big taste of the area's best foods and drinks. The interior is very cosy and rustic, with a multitude of decorations, statues, carvings, painting and more. What's amazing about this place is the warm welcome that the manager and staff offer! Very friendly and courteous beyond what we see even in first- class restaurants. The food is very delicious and homemade, with generous portions and very fresh ingredients (their salmon bagel is to die for). Their desserts are out of this world, also home made. Highly recommended if not A MUST if you're in the region!

What a neat place. We enjoyed a nice breakfast of yogurt/granola bowl, and an egg and ham dish. Very cool atmosphere with different pieces of art and a very friendly waitress. The hot chocolate was wonderful!

Felt great and welcome to be served by a friendly young lady. Had a wonderful breakfast to start our Sunday paired with aroma regular coffee and one shot of espresso.

Terrific lunch in a beautiful spot. Enjoyed the friendly service, the creative grilled cheese, and a nice local beer. The side salad with apples, beets and onions was really tasty.

We visited this beautiful when on a trip to gaspe. I have ordered hot chocolate and their signature chocolate mouse and they were awesome. I really loved the view from the corner of a cafe. Apart from that the lady who helped us was so polite, friendly and she made sure she explained the desert menu in English as we don’t know French. Overall I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful cafe.

Fantastic food, great service. This little place has an outstanding view and is a real food experience. I liked the coffee and croissant sandwiches. If you are at Gaspe, CA this is the place to have a nice breakfast surrounded by beautiful decor and outstanding view

Yelp
Cozy cafe with an artistic interior design that does its name honour, a view that will make you want to stay for hours, and a friendly and quick staff that will make you feel welcome. The food though is meh, especially at those prices. Went here for breakfast and got: - Grilled Cheese: They used brie which I guess complemented the glazed pecans, but I personally would have wanted a sharper cheese. Also couldn't really taste the chopped apples which, if sweeter, would've definitely made this better. - Smoked Salmon Bagel: Good quality salmon with a generous enough serving. Yowza though at that price. If you're willing to pay up for the view, the vibe and the great service, this is a good spot. If all you care about is how good the food tastes and how much it costs, well, hopefully you see things differently than I do.

Yelp
This is definitely THE place to eat and get a great coffee in town. The place is tiny with VERY limited seating in a place where people obviously come to sit and stay for a while so if you're not there early, expect to be waiting a long time. We got there at 830 on the holiday Monday and it was packed so we just grabbed coffee and sweet buns to go but we were totally fine with that. We did get to enjoy the decor while we waited for our drinks and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to let us order take out. If you're a hipster, thinker or hunter of a great cup of coffee while on a road trip, make this your stop. There is a lot of parking along the street but it is paid during the day. It didn't seem like anyone monitored it on a weekend and everyone's meter was expired. You will need cash to plug the meter.

Yelp
So I read a lot about how this place is so iconic in Gaspe!but we were disappointed! It was a rainy morning and everyone I guess wanted to have a breakfast there so there was a bit of a line up at 9:30 am under the rain.. then when our turn cake they sat us in the back room.. it truly seemed like a storage room to something! No decor no view no nothing! So the atmosphere everyone is talking about we didn't see! I asked to be moved but they said sorry nothing available, I also asked if something comes available to let us know but they didn't! Food was ok nothing special at all not even their coffee was that good!

Yelp
Un restaurant à la décoration débordante ! Le service y est sympathique, l'ambiance décontractée avec un bon choix de musique. Et pas besoin d'être un artiste pour y passer un agréable moment ;)

Yelp
Such a cozy and cute cafe! Great breakfast and coffee. Too bad it only closes at 3 pm! For the fact that there is no other places to go for decent dinner, they should consider extending their hours.

Yelp
We were camping about half an hour away and after having breakfast here we adjusted our schedule so we could return twice. Waffle with fruit and chantilly cream; fisherman's breakfast (ham and egg plus); croissants; yogurt with granola and fruit - all wonderful. Artistic ambience is remarkably good and the service was welcoming, friendly, and quick. Not inexpensive though.

Yelp
This restaurant is a refuge for weary campers looking to feel pampered. The food is prepared fresh, and the choices are really great. More of a sandwich/cafe than dinner menu. The restrooms were impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Great music and friendly staff. Really great place to stop.

Yelp
We stopped in Cafe des Artistes one night for coffee and dessert during our visit to Gaspe. STYLE/AMBIENCE Cafe des Artistes is definitely an interesting place to go into. The decor is very original, there are lots of places to sit, they have outdoor seating, and it has a nice intimate feel at night. FOOD We ordered lattes and a dessert so my experience is limited to that but I have to say that for a cafe, I wasn't too impressed with the lattes as they were very thin tasting. The dessert I ordered was also a bit unremarkable. SERVICE Our particular server was pretty slow and wasn't attentive (didn't follow-up after she brought our order) and we had to go to her to get our bill. All in all then, it wasn't that great but (unfortunately) par for the course for what we had during our trip. --- It's definitely an interesting place to go to and I would probably go back again if I were in town but I wouldn't have high expectations.

Yelp
Fantastic little coffee place with great coffees, a lovely breakfast and a charming ambiance. Really worth the stop.

Yelp
I hate giving poor reviews. I really do, but in this case I feel an obligation to share our experience. The good - the atmosphere and location are great. The place has the feel of a French countryside cafe. My wife ordered a bowl of hot chocolate and it was very good. Tasty, rich and not too hot. The service was good, but not great. It was prompt but somehow, impersonal. The not so good - my wife had a cinnamon roll. It looked and tasted like something from the day old bin in a grocery store. It was bland, dry and lifeless. I ordered an espresso which was also surprisingly bland. The other thing that I thought was noteworthy was the food prep. I happened to be watching our server busily preparing a dish. He apparently got some food on his fingers, so he cleaned them off by placing his finger tips in his mouth and sucking the food off. He then continued to arrange the food on the plate. Our experience was OK. It certainly is not a place we'd revisit.

Yelp
With all the good reviews this place was getting, I was excited to go and try it out. So very let down! The coffee was very thin and bland and the pastries were in fact dry. Waiter was nearing the rude side, with very little care in food hygiene... Which is my top priority. While it does have a great view, it is very claustrophobic inside.

Yelp
This a nice breakfast spot--sort of the antithesis of the Tim Horton's across the street. It was a kitchy interior--sort of beach bum zen aesthetic. It feels local and eclectic. The cafe au lait is right on after a Kayak trip. Also, make sure to get a selfie in the bathroom mirror--funny face, for sure. Our waiter was very nice, and the food came SUPER fast. Also, the waiter spoke great English and was amenable to our poor french.

Yelp
This picturesque cafe overlooking the Western basin of the Bay of Chaleur provided a great atmosphere to relax after a business meeting. The local art and collection of outdoor artifacts in this cafe formed the perfect match of modern, hip coffee house and rustic, vacation cabin. I had a delicious piece of chocolate cheesecake and some great jasmine tea. The place was quiet, but not stuffy. The atmosphere was relaxing. The service was friendly and helpful. I also noticed that they have food and would definitely go back for a full meal if I call on Gaspe again for business or pleasure. Things may change in the summertime (my visit took place in early February), but my only advice for improvement is to stay open later than 8:30 PM. In a town that rolls up the sidewalks when the sun goes down, Cafe Des Artistes could provide a much more interesting mingling location after dark than Tim Hortons!

Yelp
I was excited to try this place and it was such a let down. I went inside to see if I could bring my dogs onto the patio while I ate. Even though I stood directly in front of one of the staff and she made eye contact with me, I was completely ignored of a long time. Maybe she was concentrating on filling the water pitchers. I was able to bring the dogs onto the patio but it took forever to get a menu, which could possibly be because I sat in the back. However once I placed my order, it took forever to get a coffee and then almost AN HOUR to get a breakfast sandwich. I tried waving to get help with no luck. Finally I got food but it was the wrong order. Somehow I ended up getting a different server who tried to say that I got the wrong food because the first one didn't understand me since I was speaking in English. That may have been the reason if it wasn't for the fact that she had clarified what I had wanted when she had taken my order. If the dogs had been poorly behaved then maybe that would be a reason for the poor service but they were mostly sprawled out on the ground when they didn't have passerby paying attention to them. I was so hungry that I ate the ham and egg meal in front of me. The worst part was that it wasn't even very good. Such a disappointment and I will never set foot there again.

Yelp
We loved it. A lucky find on our drive around from Perce. Prices better than many coastal toyrust towns. Perfect for a July morning. Makes me wish I lived in Gaspe.

Yelp
We were pleased to try this restaurant. Two of enjoyed the salade de crevettes and three had sandwiches served on fresh baguettes. I'm always Leary of ordering salads for fear of getting iceberg lettuce. They use fresh green leafy lettuce!!! Service was amazing and outdoor dining a plus.
