Café Diem

At arrival this restaurant it was very busy. You would have to join a wait list and there is nowhere for you to stand while waiting for your table to be ready. Me and my family had to go back to the car. The lady at the front desk did get our number wrong. A few times for the wait list, so we had to go back inside to verify. When it was our time to be seated, we came back in, and there was a belligerent drunk in the front of the restaurant who was refusing to leave at this point. We were concerned, but we feel bad for the staff as they were all female. Being that we came here to celebrate a birthday. We were a little bit uneasy. But the staff was really nice and was able to get our orders pretty quick. I think, because everybody was a little bit shaken up things were a little messy, but the drinks were amazing and the vibe was good after the guy left. The food, however, was pretty basic.I think that the drinks had a better representation than the meals themselves. Both the lattes and the alcoholic drinks were good. They were able to surprise our grandmother with a nice cupcake and sparkler, and I think that that experience made up for the beginning of our dining concerns. We will return, upon returning I'll update this review accordingly.

My favorite restaurant to eat at they have an amazing menu. The food is always fresh and great specials daily. Great place for breakfast lunch and dinner.The staff is very friendly Great service and very helpful

Such a cute cafe! 😍 We got Mickey Mouse pancakes 🥞, a breakfast burrito, and a breakfast sandwich. Loved it! They had a special brunch menu and it was super busy, so you need reservations or to plan ahead. We wanted a cinnamon roll, but they were sold out, but what we *did* get was delicious. Definitely recommend it.

Second time visiting Cafe Diem and the food is great. For lunch my wife and I got the breakfast bowl, chicken bacon panini, and the Nutella French toast and the food was exquisite. We live nearby and we will be frequenting this place more often. I hope they get expand to a bigger location in the future. Highly recommended and reasonably priced. It tends to get busy and its a small restaurant so be prepared to wait.

During our recent family breakfast at Café Diem in Pearl River, we were thoroughly impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. Been here a few times for breakfast that we loved but today tried it for dinner and WOW! Food was excellent, we had the appetizer special (Philly Cheesesteak egg rolls) and for dinner I had steak tacos, and my husband had the vodka pasta and we loved them! Kerri was a great server, attentive and super friendly!

Finally made it here and was so happy with my experience!!! Food was incredible, drinks were lovely, the staff was nice, and the place was (cramped) but so beautiful. I’m so happy. We got two autumn special coffees; I got the breakfast bowl (very filling), and a scone; my friend got the French Toast with a side of sausage, all for around $60. It’s expensive but it’s fancy breakfast and so delicious!

Café Diem is hands down my favorite spot in Pearl River! Whether it's for coffee, breakfast, or lunch, everything here is always delicious. The menu has so many amazing options, I never know what to pick! We also recently celebrated a special dinner here, and the staff went above and beyond to make it unforgettable! The atmosphere is cozy, the service is friendly, and I can’t recommend this place enough!

My wife and I just checked out the breakfast at Cafe Diem. Not our first time there but I hadn't gotten around to reviewing. We lucked into a table immediately at around 10 on a Sunday. The restaurant is clean, bright, and modern. Our waitress was polite and professional. I knew that I wanted the traditional Irish breakfast and went for it. My wife ordered the Diem breakfast, the traditional eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries. She enjoyed her meal. I loved the traditional Irish breakfast, it included four different types of pork products. It also included two sunny side up eggs, toast, and beans. Perfectly filling, almost feel like I have to do a day of yard work at this point! They also have excellent coffee. We'll definitely be back!

Met a friend here for dinner tonight. The food was delicious, as were the cocktails. We had a really great meal with great service. John was our server and he was friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I brought home the meatloaf special for my husband and he said it was delicious.. overall it was fabulous and I'll def be back.

While visiting friends, we stopped at Café Diem and had a great meal. Started with the Caesar salad and roasted Brussels sprouts...both really tasty. Then we shared the steak tacos and chicken francese. Portions were generous, flavors were on point, and the service was terrific. A neighborhood gem worth checking out.

Generous portions of delicious food at great prices with cheerful and friendly service in a tastefully decorated cozy space. What more can one want from a little cafe that exceeds all your expectations? My daughter and I found ourselves in the Pearl River post office one day. We saw this cafe across the road and decided to give it a try. I was hungry so I chose the "Mistletoe Benedict" on their holiday season menu. My daughter was not hungry so she picked the "Frickles" (batter fried pickles with aioli dip) snack. When my dish turned up I was quite amazed that there was about an entire avocado sliced on top of at least a dozen stalks of asparagus! We wouldn't have gotten such a generous serving of freshness for the listed price in any other establishment that we frequent in this area. Same goes for the Frickles - daughter commented that they really supplied her with the money's worth of pickles :-). The eggs were flawlessly poached, the Hollandaise sauce was just the right thickness and amount (it's so easy to over do it), and every bite was perfect. What a nice way to warm up our stomachs and hearts during the holiday season! Will definitely go back for other items on the menu! I have walked and drove by this place so many times and it is always crowded. I've been wanting to give it a try and one day needed a place to go to lunch. We arrived around 12 and the place was slammed. There were only two tables left. We would have preferred to sit outside but there weren't any tables available there. The inside is very welcoming. They serve a lot of different coffee and tea drinks which I didn't know. I didn't have one because I already brought a drink earlier in the day. The menu is large and I feel like there is something for everyone, especially since it is breakfast and lunch. I had the California turkey wrap. It was large, I only had half. It came with a side of greens. Only complaint is that I wish there was more dressing on it, I think they forgot it. Overall I will definitely be back for breakfast/lunch!

My family and I LOVE Cafe Diem!! Where do I start? The Diem breakfast is my go to for an easy meal and I also highly recommend the Irish breakfast, bacon jamwich , and the homemade cinnamon buns! For lunch, the chicken paillard is delish if you like chicken cutlet with arugula and balsamic and the classic BLT is just so on track. My father raves about the fish tacos and all the loaded fries are just so delicious. The Curry fries are my favorite! On top of a delish menu, their baked goods, like the Italian rainbow cookies coffee cake, are seriously so amazing that I have to actively resist myself whenever we see them. Pro tip: get one to go! Their dinner is relatively new but I have had their burrata bowl and the Thai chili wings are something to write home ( or a Yelp review ) about!

Food choices are good. We live near the area. Fast service. We just love going there. Busy on weekends.

Had a wonderful lunch here. I liked all of the menu options. It was a little cold out, so I wanted something warm for lunch. I went with the grilled cheese: it was delicious! My friend had one of the salads and she really enjoyed it. The service was great. Will definitely return.

They set up a few tables outside which allowed our puppy to join. They recently started serving dinner so decided to give them a try. The setting is very nice, great for a date or small group. Quaint, clean, and thoughtfully appointed. The service is friendly and visited appropriately, note ding below in this category. We started by splitting the Greek Salad which was outstanding, and the Crab Cakes were fresh and yummy. Lots of crab! Wife had the Fish Tacos which had deep fried large pieces of cod. Very tasty with chipotle Mayo. The Tater Tots are outstanding, better than the fries. I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich which was a bit tasteless. We both agreed that the batter is thick and seemed to overwhelm the much thinner chicken (see pic). The brioche roll was fresh and it the three pickle slices added some flavor, but overall I felt it needed some work. The side fries were only warm so not superb, but I like fries so enjoyed them. They obviously prepared the mains a bit too early so they cooled as we ate the the apps. One downer was that they asked us what type of side potato we would like, so naturally expected them to be part of the dish. On the bill we were surprised to see an additional charge for each, albeit they are only a $3 charge, it's the principal which brought down the service score. Wife says the breakfast and lunch are consistently very good so we had high expectations. We trust the criticism will result in an even better dinner next time!

We t to eat here after being recommended. Let me first say, I don't quite understand why people are calling restaurants with tight spaces, " quaint". This is a tightly packed restaurant. Ample parking. I ordered a French toast, and it was okay, I've had way better.

Food was ok but way overpriced. $13 for a plain waffle with nothing else! Bacon was overdone and latte tasted nasty. $60 for the bill. And the waitress was a Biotch!

Great, fun restaurant with amazing breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. They are mainly known for their breakfast and lunch food, however, their dinner options are phenomenal too! I was at a Yelp event and enjoyed (devoured!) a menu sampling, and everything was flavorful and satisfying! I recommend the cosmopolitan to drink and the chicken sliders to eat. I will definitely be returning. This restaurant is a stone throw from the Pearl River train station.

Had a great brunch here! Staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. I also loved their specials for Christmas! The Avocado toast was so tasty and fresh! I will definitely be back!

Great food, cute ambiance and really nice waitstaff. I had the avo toast with feta - it was delicious! The sourdough was hardy and thr ingredients were super fresh. The lavender honey latte was also wonderful. My boyfriend has the breakfast bowl and said it was excellent. Definitely will be coming back!

Ate here a year ago last year- so good. I Had their Irish Breakfast which had the most delicious and perfectly cooked eggs easy over I have ever had in a restaurant. I can still taste the rashers and beans - So wonderful. A couple tables on the sidewalk. Service was impeccable. Had a piece of seasonal rhubarb pie to go. Perfection. Wish I lived near them!

adorable cafe with hipster vibes, fresh eats, and delicious coffee. i've been looking for a spot to grab a fancy coffee and some tasty food. as a local i'm a big fan of pearl river. this place popped up on my yelp feed and i decided to give it a try. this new cafe has been open for less than a year so i'm not sure everyone knows about it yet, but i know it will become a big hit. i came here from breakfast and was really impressed with the food. you can tell everything is prepared fresh. they also have a great coffee selection. everyone was really friendly and u can definitely see myself spending more time here in the future. i also noticed that they serve dinner as well (cocktails too!). the photos of their food on Instagram look amazing. i really want to try the dinner menu sometime soon. so if you haven't been here yet - you MUST stop by. at the very least you can always grab a coffee to go.

Where have you been all my life, Cafe Diem? From coffee, bang bang chicken, buttermilk chicken sandwiches W fries that wasn't even on the menu, to chocolate mousse cake, everything, EVERYTHING was outstanding. That lucky charms latte, also crazy good.

From breakfast to dinner the food is great! Coffee and cocktails always a hit. We usually have the same server every time we go and he is amazing! The happy hour drink deals are so good!

Back again and it did not disappoint!!! Everything is delicious and the staff is super friendly! They just told me that you can order on Toast for pick-up. No delivery yet... worth the trip over! Scrumptious!

Loved it! Food was as good as in the Pearl River location. Loved the new cafe space. So much more relaxing and comfortable. Can't wait to be able to sit in the outside space!

A super cute cafe hidden in the streets of PR near the train station!! Food is tasty and the prices are reasonable. And the waitresses are so sweet. What is there not to love?

I've been here a few times and have found the food decent, however I've noticed on 2 occasions the price you are charged on the bill is not the same price they have on the menu. (The instore menu not the online one) Its not a big difference but it feels deceiving. I did bring it up the first time but only noticed the second time when I got home and looked at my emailed receipt.. I was charged $17 for a cocktail that was $14 on the menu. I feel their drinks are very overpriced to begin with. I would expect to be charged these prices in Manhattan not a café in Pearl River.

Sad to give this place low stars. Coffee Mediocre, burnt. Service not great. Turned away for food service. Walked in at 2:10 on Thursday afternoon. Was promptly told kitchen closed at 2:00pm. All posted signs state they close at 4:00pm, including their own website and social media pages. Why is kitchen closing 2 hours early? Worse, they were still bringing food out to tables. Ordered one cappuccino. Very milky, burning hot, not the best. Walked down the street to Bella's Kitchen and had a much better experience. Their food is delicious! Hope to try Cafe Diem's food in the future but will not make a special trip again.

This is a cute little cafe. I stopped by for breakfast with some coworkers. Ordered a simple breakfast of eggs, toast and potatoes. It was tasty and hit the spot. I really enjoyed the cafe latte, one of the best ones I've ever had.

My family of 4 had an amazing breakfast this morning at Cafe Diem. We rarely go out for breakfast because I'm not a fan of the greasy offerings from most of the local establishments but my husband was in the mood so I went off to search Yelp. We arrived shortly before 10 am and were the only table but within 30 minutes they were full, less than 10 small tables in the cafe. The menu had something for everyone from savory to sweet, coffee drinks and fresh juices. Everyone enjoyed their meals, coffees and even had enough to take home. Our total was $60 for 4, very reasonable. Our waitress was very friendly and responsive. It was a breath of fresh air in the post-COVID era of non-existent hospitality. We will definitely be back again!

Someone should show you the recipe for a croque monsieur sandwich. It is not a ham and American cheese sandwich on drytoast that was served to me the other day. It was Horrible! While I'm at it, on my previous visit I ordered a corned beef hash breakfast and the diced corned beef was so dried out that some of the pieces were actually hardened and inedible. I don't understand all the good reviews here.

Went with my children and our friends for lunch the other day. Ambience is very cool. I was disappointed that I had to actually ask for water to drink after we ordered our meals. My son got the children's pancakes and was asked if he wanted regular or Mickey. He chose Mickey. The other children chose regular. When the food came, the Mickey pancake was 1/3 the amount of the regular. All for the same price. When I asked the waiter what that was about, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict and one of the eggs was solid (like hard boiled) in the middle, which is not the way it should be. Too bad, because it's a cute little place and I would've continued to support. The Arnold Palmer that I ordered wasn't very tasty either. Pretty much tasted like light brown water with some sugar in it.

Cafe Diem is a great addition to Pearl River. I've tried the corned beef hash breakfast, the smoked salmon toast with cream cheese, & the avocado toast. Each meal was delicious. The cappuccinos and iced coffees are really good too! You can tell that everything contains top notch ingredients & there is true effort put into every dish. Can't wait to try the lunch! It looks so yummy!

Obsessed with this place. I cannot get over how good their coffee is. Their employees are so kind and friendly, and they are just consistently so good. No complaints, and i'm there probably 4x a week for coffee so, if that doesn't demonstrate consistency- I dont know what else would! Would give 6 stars if I could... Just wish you could make a res! But totally get why they don't accept reservations as they are a bit limited with seating

Must get the corned beef hash! Great breakfast selection (GF option) great service and amazing coffee! There are pastries, pre-packed salads, and parfait too. Will be back to try lunch.

Had dinner here last night was disappointed with the limited menu, and quality of food. Chicken sandwich and French fries seemed dry and soggy from being reheated. Was also a little pricy for what we got. Maybe it was an off day.

The service was outstanding in this nice little cafe. We ordered the Thai chili wings to start and perhaps my expectations were too high coming in. They were decent but not quite up to par with the sauce and the crunch I was familiar with for the Chef (maybe she wasn't there?). The fish tacos were great, crunchy and plenty of them. Will be back!

Small local community breakfast and lunch spot. Very friendly service and cozy atmosphere. The breakfast we had was spectacular. French toast made with fresh bread from a local artisan bakery. Eggs and corned beef hash that was crispy yet tender and very tasty.
