Cafe Divine Street

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. We ordered a chicken submarine that smelled fishy and rotten. The first bite was so sour and disgusting, it nearly made us vomit on the spot. We immediately told the staff, and instead of showing any concern, the chef arrogantly said it “looked good” — but also admitted he hadn’t tasted it. What kind of chef refuses to taste food that customers say might be spoiled? No apology. No refund. No accountability. Just a smug attitude and the same ridiculous response: “It’s good.” When we asked them to taste it themselves, they flat-out refused — probably because they knew it was inedible. To make things worse, we still had to pay for that garbage. The customer service was nonexistent, and the entire experience was disgusting and unacceptable. This place shouldn’t even be serving food. Avoid it like the plague.

The place is quite surprising. I went there because of a recommendation and the place did not disappoint me at all. I went with my family members and the we ordered Passion fruit juice, vegetable cheese kottu and a chicken fried rice. Portions were huge and totally worth for the money. I loved how the staff was very attentive to the needs. I requested for a ginger beer which was not chilled because I had a cold and the staff kindly provided me what I requested for. I highly recommend the place. However, they can improve the outlook of the entrance so more people would easily find the place.

The cafe has a pleasant staff that makes you feel welcome, but unfortunately, the food falls short. The dishes lack freshness, which affects the overall experience. On the plus side, the portions are generous. However, the quality of the food needs improvement to match the friendly service.

Tried the black pepper lemak, and it was a letdown. The portion size was fine, but the beef was way too salty, making it hard to enjoy. The seasoning completely overpowered the dish. Definitely not worth ordering again.

The most affordable restaurant so far in kandy. I have visited over 50 times. Every-time new experience. Amazingly Biiiig food portion for this price. Very reasonable prices. 1300-1500lkr portion is enough for 2 people. Delicious foods. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended for locals and foreigners. Great customer service. Calm and clean air conditioned dining area. Balcony dining also available. Mongolian fried rice is amazingly delicious. Quarter chicken cheese kottu large is amazing.

Had chicken burgers and submarines here. The buns tasted stale, and there was hardly any chicken in them. They took a considerable amount of time to deliver the food, but the dishes were tasteless and not worth the money. Cannot recommend this place.

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. We had to wait around 35 minutes for our food, even though other customers who arrived after us were served first. This clearly showed a lack of organization and poor service. I reminded the waiters four times, but they completely ignored us. Only after I informed the cashier did we finally receive our food. The hot chocolate I ordered was cold, and the portion size was not worth the price at all. We ordered a submarine and a sandwich, but the food quality was below average—definitely not what we expected. I really don’t know why they even include these kinds of beverages and foods on the menu if they don’t know the proper way to prepare and serve them. On top of that, the staff seemed uninterested and unprofessional. They acted like they didn’t care about our concerns or our presence at all. Overall, very poor service, long waiting time, and low food quality. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on our experience.

The food was excellent and the black tea was super delicious both were delicious actually 🤤 and I would like to appreciate the great service we got from Shehan he was so nice with a amazing smile in his face and his service was clean I would like to thank him once again for the service
