There are no brunch spots in Goldsboro, but this easy 50 min. drive was worth the trip. The waitstaff was fantastic: knowledgeable with the menu, decent wait time for the food, and quick to grab the checks. Our server also made our drinks, and he was super awesome with the sangria that had brandy in it.
We split our entrees in half, and we ended up sharing the chocolate souffle dessert.
// Duo eggs benedict: 2 thin pieces of black forest ham, a perfect poached egg (AKA runny yolk!) with hollandaise sauce poured over everything sitting on the toasted English muffin. This was served with delicious, seasoned potatoes.
// Broken egg sandwich: thin pieces of black forest ham, sliced tomato, swiss cheese, and fried egg that wasn't runny (hence the name) inside toasted ciabatta bread. The bread was crunchy after getting warmed, but it worked with this breakfast sandwich well. I normally prefer croissants. The same seasoned, crunchy potatoes were served with this entree. Those potatoes seem misleading due to their larger size, but the crunch and taste are all there, (:
// Chocolate souffle with vanilla bean ice cream. The lava cake had an amazing outer layer of crunch, and the insides were a soft, smooth, silky fudge. The vanilla bean ice cream scoop paired perfectly with its size & taste and had an impeccable ability to hold its shape next to the warm dessert.
Our plates were clean, our stomachs not overwhelmed, and our wallets content with fair pricing. We would totally come back, (:
