"Arriving at Café en Seine feels like stepping into a Wes Anderson film set. The lively multi-restaurant venue is an Instagrammer’s dream, with jewel-hued, art deco décor and costumed jazz singers. People drop in for lattes and lunch dates during the day, and by night, it’s one of the city’s most happening gastronomic destinations. It was also named Jameson’s Bar of the Year for 2022."

Wow! What a gem. We had a lovely time with a wholesome meal in an extraordinary café. The interior is exquisite. The service was brilliant. The food was delicious. The lavatory was very fancy. I would recommend anyone to treat themselves to a meal at Café em Seine when in Dublin.

Google
I used to really like Café en Seine, but my last visit left me disappointed, especially as I had brought new guests who were expecting the best service based on my previous experiences. We had a reservation and I specifically requested low seating, as some of my guests were older and uncomfortable with barstools. We arrived on time, and the hostess confirmed our request for low seats. However, she then informed us that no low seats were available. Additionally, they could only offer a high seat table for an hour and a half, even though our booking was for two hours—a duration that is already quite short. I was shocked to say the least, what is even the point of making a reservation. After waiting for about 17 minutes, they managed to seat us at a high table, but at least it was for the full two hours. The food was just okay, and the restaurant itself was very loud, which detracted from the experience. Overall, it was a shame, especially since this was a special occasion. Café en Seine used to be a favorite of mine, but this visit was a letdown.

Google
I wasn’t here for the longest time, but was delighted with my most recent visit. The service was amazing and the seats were readily available. The food was gorgeous. I love the high ceilings and the art deco design. I’ll be back.

Google
Just popped in for a quick soup and a pint for lunch. It was a pleasant modern ambiance, with ample space. Had a large bar and a big menu. The lunch was quite pricey just for soup, and the pint was typical Dublin silly expensive. Overall, a fine experience. Service was accommodating as I had to move out quickly and needed the check expedited.

Google
Incredible spot. Totally unassuming from the outside, but a truly elegant & sophisticated cocktail lounge with a creative menu. Definitely worth a stop.

Was in Dublin twice recently and found this gem. Beautiful inside and very classy. The staff are very attentive and professional, great service. We had lunch of a French dip sandwich and a turkey and brie sandwich with chips. The food here was exceptional which is why we returned for dinner a week later. Yet again the food was good, steak and himself had gnocchi. On both occasions the place was busy and unfortunately was given a time to vacate by. Understandable as they need the table. We also came back for drinks one afternoon and the cocktails were good. Would definitely be back. Came back for lunch on a Saturday and got the crab brioche rolls with chips. Absolutely divine. Only problem was that once we were finished it felt like we were rushed out the door. Arrived, ate and gone within 35 minutes.

Google
Swanky bar and restaurant that served its purpose perfectly. We popped in and luckily grabbed two seats at the crowded bar. the bartenders were extremely friendly and helpful, and the drinks were great. Once we looked into trying to potentially eat at the restaurant, it seemed way too busy and too much of a hassle to be worth the effort, so we went elsewhere for dinner. But for pre-dinner drinks, it was perfect!

Google
Fun cocktail bar in Dublin. Well worth the visit if you are in the area. Wide selection of drinks and good service. Interesting atmosphere that is different than most places in the area. The outer seating area is lined with books, giving it a different vibe.

Anna C.

Yelp
Nice pub with a few different scenes that you can enjoy the drinks and comfortable seats. Modern and clean.

Pash Lee L.

Yelp
Talk about posh! This place was stunning with good bar service by our bartender Victor, good music, great ambience and a good vibe to it. It can be casual or dressy depending on your mood or the occasion, seeing as a lot of tourist come in there. The decor was top tier and sexy! I will definitely come back here when in Dublin.

Kate C.

Yelp
Adorable cocktail bar in Dublin with really nice cocktails. The ambiance is really what makes this place so special - they have a beautiful indoor and outdoor bar with lots of seating. Definitely stop by here for a drink at least!

Rachel L.

Yelp
A breath of fresh air in Dublin, Cafe en Seine is a beautifully decorated, airy space with a convenient location near the city center. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant and indoor courtyard, and even the bathrooms were nicely decorated. For such upscale decor and food presentation, I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were pretty affordable still. I got the Hash Brown Eggs Royale which were a delicious combination of lox, eggs and hollandaise sauce atop a hash brown. The service was also pretty friendly, but the ambiance and food are what made this a 5 star experience.

Marina S.

Yelp
This place is gorgeous! I came here only for drinks. The bartender was super friendly and made my friend and I custom drinks to our liking. The drinks were fantastic. This place is massive, it's just fun walking around the whole area.

Patty D.

Yelp
I love love love this restaurant. So pretty inside.Take a look around as there is very cool artwork on the walls. Our service was great and efficient. We enjoyed our meals and drink and will be back in the future .Make sure you make a reservation as it is a happening place.

Yelp
Stopped in to get out of the cold and enjoy some apps and drinks. Great beautiful atmosphere with plenty of seating and a covered open space. The service was reasonable but a little hit or miss when it started to pick up. Plenty of delicious food and tasty drinks that made an amazing impression on my trip!

Paige M.

Yelp
Only been here once but.... Wow what a beautiful cocktail bar. The menu has something for everyone to try with fun and unique ingredients. Will be back and hopefully try the food next time

Yelp
Cafe En Seine is such a lovely restaurant you MUST put this spot on your brunch/lunch itinerary when in Dublin. And pro tip: make a reservation! We tried to walk in twice and we're turned away for reservations, so by the second day we were smart and had finally made a reservation and were seated no problem. This spot gets busy and booked for good reason. The decor and ambiance of this restaurant is really so cute. Depending where you get seated you get a totally different feel. We sat inside but close to the patio and it was lovely, covered from the hot sun but cozy and relaxing the little high top booth we were given. The outdoor seating is really the prettiest spot to dine. Trust me and you'll see yourself, super cute and outdoor bar as well. Service was a little hit and miss to be honest. We waited awhile for our order to be taken but other then that they got on top of it for the rest of the meal. I think it's luck of who you get as a server. The couple next to us waited at least 15 minutes for their check but then our waitress was different from their table and we got it right away. I would prefer consistency when giving 5 stars BUT the food and atmosphere really made up for my one little negative observation. The menu has a good variety. Something for everyone. The dish I wish I would have gotten were the mussels in the butter broth. I can tell you they smelled amazing and most tables had them. What I did have and LOVED was the French dip sandwich. It was heavenly. Super rare and delicious how I asked for it/like it. The bread was uber soft and fresh. And the au jus + horseradish sauce made this meal a 10/10. We asked a local where one of his favorite restaurants was in Dublin and he quickly said this spot so we had to come and so happy we did. He urged us that the cocktails were frilly & delicious, paired with a solid meal. He was spot on and you have to try this restaurant when your in town.

Yelp
Cafe en Seine was recommended by a former local. It is a hip joint with high ceilings and elegant appointments. It gets very busy around Friday after work hours; many of the young women who come here take pains to look their best, but frumpy tourists are also cheerfully welcomed. Dinner menu is fairly limited and skews American; quality of what I tried was pretty good. It can take a while to get service when they are slammed, but the bartender acknowledged my existence while admitting that he wouldn't be serving for a while, for which I give partial credit. Close to five stars; would bump them up for a broader menu and less waiting for drinks.

Dan S.

Yelp
What a pleasant spot to relax for lunch in the most hectic area of town. Did not expect the open air dining room so a great spot to watch the rain pass. Service was perfectly French and all the food was delightful.

Christiane M.

Yelp
this was so good. the inside of the restaurant was so pretty and decorated for christmas, our server was really sweet, and food was delish

Aisling M.

Yelp
What can I say about Cafe en Seine, firstly its the interior that you see, its just so beautiful! secondly, the service was amazing, very attentive staff! Thirdly, our coffee and cakes where so tasty!

Danielle D.

Yelp
This was my favorite dinner that we had while in Dublin! I travelled with a group of girls and we appreciated that this restaurant had fresh salads and plates to take a break from the typical gastropubs. Loved the food. And best of all, they had a beautiful bar with good wines and excellent old fashioneds. We'll definitely back on our next Dublin visit!

Andy B.

Yelp
A large number of us from work visited Café En Seine this past Thursday to catch up after a long time apart and whilst there were a few of us with Covid concerns there was really no need to worry. The setup is done to perfection and the entire team from the door staff to the bar staff couldn't do enough to make sure everyone was comfortable and had a really good time. Great space, excellent music and awesome atmosphere which resulted in some of us returning on Friday. Big Thank you also to Brian on the door who went out of his way to check in and ensure we were taken care of by the team. Really great time, Thanks

Jen M.

Yelp
Bar service was prompt and fantastic, the meal portion not so much. I was a solo diner, was taken to my table from the bar and waited 20 minutes to see a food menu (had to flag down a server to ask). Ordered the John Stone striploin - the potato terrine was, honestly the highlight of this slightly frustrating experience and the main reason for the 3 stars. As a solo diner I felt absolutely invisible to any wait staff and would only recommend this spot if you are a larger group as they seemed to receive prompt, attentive service.

Paul T.

Yelp
All in all, pretty good. Spent €80, and got a decent amount of food + 2 drinks. Heirloom tomatoes & burrata were pretty decent, the mussels were a surprisingly hefty portion, and the salmon with a tappably crisp skin top was perfect. Creme brûlée was decent as well.

Joe D.

Yelp
Cafe En Seine is a phenomenal place to eat. I came here for dinner. The food was delicious and high quality. I recommend the patatas bravas, charred tomatoes, and gnocchi.

S R.

Yelp
What a gem!! We were looking for an afternoon spot to have a drink and relax. Creative cocktails. Our son craved dessert and a quiet reading spot. A hit for all!! Located near down the street from an amazing bookstore. Beautiful, great energy, hope to come back for dinner and enjoy the dreamy setting.

Dani S.

Yelp
This restaurant was amazing. The ambience was perfect, the service was quick and effective and our waiter, Guillermo, was pleasant, politetalkative, and very attentive I highly recommend this restaurant.

B S.

Yelp
The vibe alone is enough to go for. Absolutely enchanting space. Lovely service. And, in the midst of a trip characterized mostly by meat and scones, the salad was a rare gem of fresh greens and flavor. Whether for a cocktail or a bite, highly recommend.

Yelp
I used to go there before it transformed and actually always had a great time. But since the revamp the place is looking spectacular. Very trendy and friendly. We were severed by a girl from Poland, she was very warm and professional. Food is really good and bar is very spacious. It's exactly what Dublin needed. Can't wait to go back and try it on the night out.

Ken C.

Yelp
Very special place, with music, drinks and great food. The ambiance is spectacular. My only regret is we did not get here more often during our visit.

Mike K.

Yelp
This is a fun hidden away place -- choose to sit inside where it's Art Deco Paris, or "outside" (all enclosed in three story atrium) for a cafe on the street feel. We were there for brunch, everything we ordered was very tasty from the pancakes to the corn beef benny. Will come back when in Dublin.

Sean G.

Yelp
We had a really nice meal here and the food was surprisingly good. My only issue was around the wine menu, it could do with an overhaul especially given the food. Book a table in advance as this place gets busy.

Duirmuid M.

Yelp
How the nightly have risen. Before the refit the food here was ... fine. Nothing special, but nothing that you would go...yes I am coming back her to eat. But since the refit, you can see that money that was spend did not just go on the structure. That there seems to have been a deliberate effort to rase the standard of food on offer. We started with some appetisers. Olives and almonds, good but nothing special. The special was artichoke and spinach dip and this salsa; that has to be the best that I have tasted outside of a Mexican restaurant in LA (the best I have ever tasted). My starter was tuna shichimi, it was fresh and delicate. Watermelon was the fruit on offer and the use of seats and peppers was amazing. My mains was rotisserie chicken...not what you would think of when you think epic food. But how the chef got so much flavour into the chicken and paring it with amazing burnt artichoke and Bol Choi was stunning. Sweet was raspberry Eaton Sunday and was so enjoyable. I have to say that I am looking forward to eating here again. Also the cocktails are amazing. :)

Karen A.

Yelp
The location and atmosphere is amazing. A true slice of European indulgence in central Dublin. Staff are attentive and food is amazing. We ordered the vegan salad for main and the Beef French Dip. Delicious!

Susan V.

Yelp
I love the night club - the dance floor and the ambience. I had some nice drinks... and good memories. A few months after I went there for breakfast - had a good Eggs Benedict with a Bloody Mary... delicious!

Ricardo P.

Yelp
AMAZING PLACE!!!! we celebrated our wedding here and honestly we couldn't have chosen a better place, the staff couldn't be more helpful and nice. specially the spanish guy at the bar (sorry we can't remember his name) 100% recommended.

Cathal C.

Yelp
I don't know what it is about Dawson St, but wankers abound. Actually, I know exactly what it is about Dawson St: the proximity of the Arts block of Trinity College. Now, of course I'm not implying that everyone who went to Trinity are west-brit twats, but it would probably be the part of Dublin with the greatest concentration of them. Which brings us neatly to Cafe En Seine. Seemingly ignoring the fact that it's actually in rain-sodden Dublin, Cafe En Seine is a brave to misguided attempt to bring sophisticated Parisian café culture to distinctly crass and non-sophisticated Dublin. I'll give it this much: Cafe En Seine does have an amazing interior. But this luxuriant décor is also its downfall. Because luxuriant Cafe En Seine attracts the biggest bunch of tools of any establishment in Dublin (especially now that Renards is closed). Expect broad-shouldered men loudly talking shop with their former school chums, and girls with orange make-up bitching loudly about their best-friend the minute that she goes to the toilet to throw up the stick of celery that she had for dinner earlier. Watch that you don't have an eye taken out by any of the ridiculously sized collars. And don't get me started on the price of drink.

Caitlin K.

Yelp
When I went to Dublin 8ya, I stumbled across this Cafe which had an amazing interior. Now I've come back, I went to the trouble of finding it, to see if it was still available good as I remember. Decor is amazing. Service was very prompt and attentive. Food was good - not Michelin-star, but exactlu what you'd expect to a cafe/bar, andwas practically Mana from heaven after being stuck eating plane food for 24hrs. Highly recommended going.

Hiro S.

Yelp
It's a cool Bar/Café. Once you walk in, you'll see a long dark-wood bar counter. Make sure to look up the ceilings and pay attention to the decor. It is a gorgeous looking bar! I tried to take some photos, but they did not do justice. Just like other bars, it gets crowded later in the evenings, but I found bartenders were friendly and nice. Price wise, it could be a bit expensive. In my opinion, this is one of the bars you should visit when you are in Dublin.

Bryan B.

Yelp
This is a frequent stop of mine when I visit Dublin, it's close to Grafton St. and the the really high ceilings make this place a comfortable place to have a pint. Last time I was there I had an Irish coffee since I was a bit jet lagged and it was really good. The place is massive but can still get pretty crowded on weekends. It can be a little on the expensive side but in my opinion the place is worth it.

Dolores M.

Yelp
No, just no! i will not go to this place on a night out and i always fight strongly against it when it is suggest it. Its not a really awful place, I mean the decor is really nice and unusual, you could spend some time looking a that but that is where the niceness ends. the customers in here are always so pretentious and stuck up and male customers feel it is okay to pinch your bum as you walk by (in my experience anyway). the place is just huge so if your group is on the move and you get seperated forget about it they could be anywhere in this cavernous room and they could be on any level. the toilets are beautiful really but again they are abboying too, they are miles away from the main drinking area!

Nobbi L.

Yelp
On our cruise stop in Dublin, we were looking for a place for lunch. We happened across this establishment. As a Francophile, I decided that this was it. Inside atmosphere is a combo of hip bar with French bordello decor. Service was friendly. Food was solid. Jack enjoyed his fish and chips. My bœuf bourguignon was solid. Mom had a salad with duck which was huge. WIFI was a little slow. Overall a pleasant experience.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
No one could say that Cafe en Seine's decor is not beautiful. Like Kate said, it does remind you of Moulin Rouge. Everything seems so extravagant from the naked marble statue outside to the intricate mosaic floor and steel railings inside. You really do feel like you left Dublin and headed to the South of France. The whole vibe is very French bohemian. While I'm a fan of the look of the place, I do not like drinking here. Like in other big pubs, there is no real atmosphere at Cafe en Seine. Perhaps, this has something to do with the fact that the space is so large. You lose yourself in here. Also, some of the clientele are snobby. I'd go here for one drink and then head somewhere else where people are a little less bourgeois.

Katie R.

Yelp
This is the cutest place for a drink! The bartender recommended a vodka, pineapple, and Chambord drink that was amazing. We also had espresso martinis that I could swim in for the rest of my life. Incredible drinks, attentive bartenders, and a beautiful setting all made for an amazing experience. Loved it here.

Michael H.

Yelp
A fancy bar,I must say to start off,you wouldn't want to stroll in wearing a t-shirt I can warn you now That being said it is a lovely bar, staff are nice and friendly.price wise it's more expensive than your average bar but I'd fully expect it. Is no shortage of seating in there either,Won't be left standing unless it's crazy busy of course. Very good place to go on a date,she/he will be well impressed with your choice!

Corina R.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for soup & a cocktail. Beautiful French decor. Too much too see.

Reamonn D.

Yelp
No one forgets the first time they walk into Café en Seine (assuming they're sober of course). For me it was and remains like stepping into another era; as though Ive slipped through a crease in space-time thats taken me back to an idyllic Parisian Café at the turn of the 20th Century. Between the Art Nouveau and Deco themes; the forever unbeatable staff in terms of manner, professionalism and all around service I can honestly say that my times spent within this true Dublin Gem have not once fallen short of some of the best experiences Ive ever had in a Dublin Bar/Restaurant. A fine time guaranteed for any occasion indeed.

Toshi T.

Yelp
On my second visit to Dublin, I wandered into this place on a Friday afternoon with some friends for some Irish Coffees. The place was relatively quiet (as it was early). The interior decor of the place is beautiful, and the place is much, much bigger than you would anticipate. On a Saturday night, we went back around 10 pm. The place was full of people, but it never felt crowded. This place was excellent for people watching. The service here was great and the music was very good, but not too loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. This is a definitely place I would bring friends, and I look forward to coming back.

Nola G.

Yelp
For a great after dinner spot to spend with friends, you must go to Café En Seine off Dawson Street near Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green. Live music, dancing, well-priced drinks, and art deco Parisian-chic create a great night-life atmosphere. You can also have a quiet lunch or espresso and dessert during the day. There is a jazz brunch on Sundays. The decor is very unique for Dublin which will immediately surprise you when you enter. The ambience will transport you back to 19th century Paris. At night the enormous trees are lighted, nouveau light fixtures, giant mirrors, statues, and artwork surround you. The bar, restaurant, and coffee bar spans three floors. Check out cafeenseine.ie for more details and information.

Aoife O.

Yelp
The splendour and decorative indulgence of Cafe en Seine's interior is like that of no other bar in Dublin. It reminds me of a magical Parisian club from a forgotten age and, as already mentioned, the courtesans of Moulin Rouge would not look out of place swinging gleefully from its high ceilings. It has a touch of class but that is marred by the pretension, posers and Dublin 'high rollers' that become fairly ubiquitous here in the evening. It's a nice place to drop into during the day though and you can park yourself outside when the weather is warm. Trinity students are a familiar sight and the odd end-of-term tutorial has been known to take place here. If you need proof that the ornate surroundings attract Dublin's elite, then please note that I saw Mr. Gabriel Byrne himself coming out of les Jacques!.

Emilia B.

Yelp
I completely fall in love with this place. It is a fantastic spot with an amazing interior décor. The pub is very specious with a high ceiling. Friendly staff, delicious food and foremost lovely atmosphere. I have been twice at Café en Seine. Once for some casual drinks and one for a birthday party. Each time I had lots of fun.In the late evening this place turns into a great spot for dancing. I would highly recommend going!

Sarah P.

Yelp
From the moment you walk in you're blown away by the cool decor. Moulin rouge meets Broadway! Theatrical style French chandeliers, upholstery and spaces create a great atmosphere. Fantastic selection of drinks including an amazing gin and tonic menu. Different tonics and flavourings to go with each gin. Need to slowly make my way through. Great vibe on a weekend night. Good music that you want to dance to and a decent space to dance in.

Sam S.

Yelp
If I am really desperate and dateless in Dublin then I will go here :-)) This means that I am rarely ever there and usually get dragged in by others. I love the decor of the place but that's where it ends. The music is usually just ok and they have no control over how many people are let in and there are times when I have not been able to move in here. Maybe this is great for some but not my cup of tea ;-))

Kirsten B.

Yelp
The presentation of my gin and tonic was fantastic. My only issue was the choice of an orange wedge as a garnish, when it is usually a wedge of lime that would accompany gin. The bar was busy enough, but my friends and I found some seats as the upstairs was open. I took away one star as the music was far too loud, there wasn't even anyone trying to dance. People were mostly trying to avoid it. However, the decor is always extremely impressive!

Leticia D.

Yelp
The prices are a littel bit expensive but justified the good food and beautifull space.

Charlotte B.

Yelp
Beautiful, bright Dublin Pub! A lil fancy, but i love it. Great for a coffee or they have some creative cocktails too! Newly re-opened with some great updates - so worth a visit.

Lynn A.

Yelp
Still cant give this place 4 stars. Like many of the places on Dawson street the cocktails are tasty but extremely watered down & fairly overpriced! Damn you Cafe en Seine & your stupidly convenient location!
