I'm usually very generous with my reviews and always love to highlight the positives from dining establishments, but this experience was unfortunately an exception.
Although the Alpen Globe dining sounds like a unique and exciting experience, I don't recommend coming here if you value excellent service and delicious food. The service was very mediocre. After being seated in the Alpen Globe, it took them quite a while to welcome us--we waited around 15-20 minutes just to be greeted and finally get served glasses of water.
Admittedly, the staff are very friendly. During the time we went, the sun was BEAMING into our Alpen Globe (not their fault), so we asked if there was anything they could do to make it more comfortable. They made a very kind effort to use a nearby table umbrella to block the sun out of our eyes. Thank you!
However, it seems like they might be understaffed or might need to refine their restaurant efficiency because the wait times felt very long even to just get a refill.
The ambiance was, of course, very lovely and we really enjoyed the heated dining experience in the Alpen Globes.
The food was less than average for a very high price. Expect to spend at least $20-25 per person if you want a decently filling meal (semi expensive). For its price and the fact that we had to pay a fee for the Alpen Globe dining, we expected the quality of our meals to match its high price. It was disappointing to find out that this was not the case and that the food was not that great. See our food reviews below:
Garlic Bread (6.7/10) included a decently made soup dip but the actual bread itself lacked flavor and seasoning. The cheese on it also tasted like frozen, store-bought string cheese.
Bruschetta (7.3/10) was nicely prepared bread with a decent combination of ingredients including delicious cherry tomatoes and balsamic reduction. However, I've definitely enjoyed better bruschetta in the past.
Chicken Parmigiana (7/10)-- featured a mushy and not crispy feel (horrible). It felt poorly cooked or it wasn't served timely, leaving it with a weird texture/taste. It was also VERY salty.
Ribeye Steak (5.7/10) was very chewy and did not taste anywhere near fresh. It tasted like old and frozen meat which was just defrosted. The side of Broccolini is a 3/10 and was poorly cooked, making it feel very hard. FYI - this was $38 and did not match its price at all!
Seared Salmon (4/10) tasted semi-dry, lacked flavor, and was so lackluster. The side of Broccolini is a 3/10 and was poorly cooked, making it feel very hard.
