Visited Goodluck Cafe on FC Road for the first time during a casual outing with friends. This place carries a long-standing reputation and is considered one of the historical Irani cafes in Pune. With so much hype around it, we had high expectations, especially for their popular bun muska and tea. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the reputation.
We ordered the famous bun muska and tea to start with. The bun was soft, but the amount of muska (butter) was minimal—barely enough to notice. The taste was average and lacked the richness you'd expect from a place known for this iconic item. As for the tea, it was disappointing—watery, bland, and didn’t even match the standard of tea served at street stalls nearby. We were expecting a well-balanced Irani chai but it felt diluted and lacked punch.
The overall vibe of the place is decent. The staff was friendly and prompt, and service was smooth despite the rush. Cleanliness was okay, not spotless but manageable. The cafe does offer a large variety of food options ranging from snacks to meals, but after trying their most recommended item and being disappointed, we didn’t feel motivated to try anything else.
The cafe gets quite crowded, especially during weekends, which affects the overall comfort level. It might be good for nostalgia or if you’re curious about Pune’s old cafes, but if you're looking for authentic taste and quality, there are better options nearby. Worth visiting once for the experience, but not something I’d go out of my way for again.
