Best breakfast experience ever! Here you will feel welcome by not only the friendly server but all of the locals, even if you don't really always understand each other. Me and my partner ended up going here at twelve on a Monday for breakfast when it opened and just managed to get the last table. We were served beer and delicious schnapps with the immaculate Danish treats of Smørrebrød in various kinds. We were happy to get to eat and drink at this magnificent establishment that felt so familiar yet so different to anything else.

A wonderful place, and my new favourite cafe in the world. The food was delicious and the greeting we got was super friendly. Service was fast and the ambience of the bar was relaxed. If you are in Copenhagen I highly recommend a visit.

Super local restaurant and bar. Lovely local vibe, tasty local, authentic, well priced food. Great beer and schnapps is a must 🥳. Make a reservation if you can, it’s understandably busy. Thank you for a lovely luncheon.

I wouldn't know where to begin. First I would like to say that the decorations are unique and it's a really cozy place (specially now that's Christmas season) I ordered the mini Christmas plate. Every single dish is carefully decorated and with the most fresh ingredients I have ever had for a long time. It reminded me of old times where people would have homemade meals meticulously and beautifully decorated. I could describe every single dish, but I can sum it up to: outstanding. The toilets were super clean. The attention was amazing. If you're looking for a local, delicious danish meal. This is definitely your place of choice. Advice: book your table in advance.

Where should I start. Food was phenomenal at a very reasonable price, drink selection was also great. Good area, good vibe. To top it all off , it is family owned by a wonderful bartender and his wife who prepares the meals. Made me feel like a regular after just one meal, so good I went back the next day. Thanks again. Cheers from Canada.

The food was the tastiest traditional food I've ever had in Northern Europe. Danish food at its best. The service is fabulous, very friendly waiter who explained to us how we should eat the food, what he recommends etc. The table nearby hat 4 regulars who have been coming to the cafe for many years. The atmosphere is of a quaint little bar, which has preserved that antique feel and tradition. Will definitely visit again when I'm in Copenhagen. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!

Ultimate “brown bar” run by a lovely husband and wife who will make you feel right at home. Excellent traditional food, local spirits and beer on tap. I’m very glad I stumbled in here. If I had discovered it earlier on in my trip I would have loved to return. It seems like the kind of place you want to be a regular.

Service is non existent. I ask for water for two people and they bring 1. No sign anywhere they don’t take certain cards such as Amex. Mobile pay wasn’t working. Took 30 minutes for food to arrive. I had to go to the bar to order because “it’s better” . Food was authentic at least…

Yelp
Superb place. Cool ancient basement. Fabulous service and staff. Food was amazing. Definitely have nothing to complain about this place. Truly authentic danish venue.

Yelp
Only came bc Rick Steve guidebook recommendation. Lunch sandwich plate (3x) was 84 but there was an unexpected surcharge of 15 for tap water (so make sure to ask for no drinks if you had your own water like I did). The server was nice so I was going to leave a tip at first but after seeing the hidden charge I decided not to. Somehow I feel like this is designed as a tourist trap. Go with yelp rec's in the future. The most interesting part of the visit was not the cold sandwiches (nothing special) but rather the Jewish synagogue with danish guards with assault rifles. All in all a solid 3 star pub with nothing special.

Yelp
This place has been my go-to-bar for more than 3 years. It is of course nothing compared to the actual regulars who have been there for 20 years. I will never grow tired of the cheap beer, the cigarette smoke and the wonderful people in front and behind the bar. And as mentioned by others an absolute must on Wednesday evenings is to participate in the quiz. Just show up and ask for the quiz (it's in Danish), and try away! The quiz is handed in at 10pm and the winner is announced at 10:15. First price is a carnet of 10 free beers and the bartender will also announce the winner of the best team name which will bring all team members a shot of choice. Come join us!!

Yelp
Another solid recommendation from our "Uncle Rick". Very quaint basement atmosphere with a few outside tables. Patient and generous bartender (Svenid sp?) explained the menu in detail to us. Food was very much traditional Danish lunch fare including curried herring and rye with various toppings.

Yelp
had some good times at this place, though i can't say i've won any of the pub quizzes. i guess i have to brush up on my random facts. the people that hang out here are generally pretty friendly but smoke like chimneys, so don't wear anything too nice because the next morning you will smell like an ashtray. (:

Yelp
When my wife and I visited Copenhagen from California, my Danish relatives took us to the Cafe Halvvejen and it is a great little cafe. Great food and drink and a nice small pub atmoshere.
