Café Kandl

We had such a great meal here on a Friday night. They'd had to change our booking from the Saturday as they were booked for a private party, but they were so apologetic and provided alternative recommendations as well as giving us a drink and an extra course on the house. The food (we had the vegetarian tasting menu) was absolutely delicious - really inventive, thoughtfully prepared, perfectly seasoned and well balanced. I couldn't fault it. The atmosphere was buzzy and warm and the staff were lovely. Just 10/10 all round!

Excellent meal. Steak tartare was beautiful and a little different from normal. Service was friendly and professional. The venison dish was outstanding also.

Overpriced terrible food. Really disrespectful and pretentious staff. This place is such a disaster. The food was surprisingly so bad and tasteless. The cocktails we ordered weren't good either. The waiter was both unhelpful and rude. When we complained to the management they disregarded our issues with the food and service and rushed us out. I will never return to this establishment or recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are so many better restaurants for quality in Vienna. This is an absolute SKIP. Save your money. Go somewhere else. 👋 Here are some of the dishes we were served. It looked good but tasted awful. The butter was the only thing good.

Excellent Food, Excellent Drinks (The cocktails are to die for), Very good quality at a reasonable price and the service is absolutely Top Notch. Last but not least, you get to sit in of the most beautiful Courtyard of Vienna. Will definitely be coming back! Thanks for a great Evening.

A wonderful meal. The tasting menu was very inventive and well thought out. The natural wines were fantastic. And most importantly the staff were really welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed to represent perfectly what the cafe stood for.

Grabbed a seat at the bar here earlier this year and had a really nice time. The food was fantastic and they also have a really impressive selection of natty wines. And, although it was my first time there, the staff made me feel very welcome and cozy. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Vienna.
