Arie Keppler, the café’s namesake, would approve. This isn’t a generic hipster coffee house, but a place that feels like an old village pub.
They roast their own coffee—and they do it very well. My favourite is the filter/batch brew: so clean, full of all kinds of fruit notes, yet still just a really good cup of coffee.
I have their soup for lunch almost every week. Nearly always different. Nearly always vegan. Always a big, warm hug.
Try the omelette. A proper French one, served on their own crispy bread with tangy mayonnaise, as mayo should be. Simple, but not basic.
I love reading the newspaper here. Secretly listening to the conversation at the next table. Or just tuning into their carefully curated music.
