Café Marguerite

We stopped for a short stroll and coffee in the town and came across this lovely café on the main street. The service was really pleasant, the latte (pumpkin spice) was excellent—they make the blend here. We also tried some pastries that were delicious; everything feels homemade, full of love and thought.

Cute place with the best croissants this side of the Atlantic. The breakfast sandwich was worth driving hours to have on its own (though we came for the nearby skiing). Coffee and tea selections were phenomenal, and they even had some craft brews for sale. And what a treat to find pastel de nata too! This place is special — I would come every day if we lived in the area. So if you are passing through, be sure to stop. Highly recommended for breakfast.

Loved this cute coffee shop we found during our road trip. I was not expecting gluten free options but was pleasantly surprised. I had their brunch burger on gluten free bread and it was delicious along with the fries. Service was great and the bathroom was very clean.

10.20.24 my 1st time here and what a great local gem. The chocolate croissant was warm, flaky, perfection. The Americano was hot and delicious. Overall, this place has a great vibe and is a must stop of you're in the area.

We stopped here for breakfast during our weekend in the Catskills and I’m so glad we did. I’ve tried a lot of lattes from different places and the lattes from Cafe Marguerite has to be one of the best I’ve ever had. I tried the vanilla and hazelnut latte and both were delicious. They were so smooth and perfectly sweet. We also got a breakfast sandwich and the smoked salmon sandwich and they were great. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and we had a great experience here!

Cafe Marguerite is absolutely wonderful. The coffee is fantastic, iced or hot. Every time I’ve had something to eat there it has been wonderful as well. The food is fresh and freshly prepared. I love the quiche they make, and I’ve had several of the specialty quiches they have made as well. They also have a very good BLT on a pretzel roll that I get often. Every time I am there, I and my meal with an order of baklava. It’s all delicious!

We were here twice during the July 4th weekend, so understandably, the place was extremely busy and crowded. The first time we visited was for lunch. We waited for 25 minutes for our food, while orders were completed for many who arrived after us. When we inquired about our order (three sandwiches, two iced teas), it seemed they had forgotten about us. Our second visit was for breakfast, and the wait for two sandwiches and a pastry was a little shorter - but they forgot to put the pastry in the bag and we had to go back for it. The woman who took our order both times was extremely rude. She was impatient and unfriendly, and clearly just with us. Very off-putting. On the bright side, the weather was beautiful and it was pleasant to sit outside on their patio. We were surrounded by nice potted flowers, and there was French music playing. OUR FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING, and the indigo iced tea was unique and delicious. We highly recommend their ham and cheese croissants and breakfast sandwiches. The croissants are reminiscent of our time in Paris. Hoping to sample more of the menu next time we’re in town.

Dina is an incredible chef and made the best wedding cake we have ever tasted! She follows through and advises on the best flavors, icing and how to serve the cake to guests. She is meticulous about her craft so the cake presents beautifully and serves well. Our guests raved that it was the best wedding cake they’ve ever had -- moist and flavorful, with not-too-sweet icing! We recommend Dina and her husband’s cafe; we love getting coffee and pastries there when we are in town. We’re so glad we could incorporate their work into our special day.

A lovely little cafe with a wonderful staff and the perfect menu. We stopped two days in a row during our weekend in the Catskills. It seems like you could get almost everything you need right here. They offered sweet morning pastries, there was a selection of cakes and desserts to bring back to our accommodations for later, and they offered a cooked breakfast and lunch (and brunch!) menu. The coffee was great, and we took some beans home. If you live locally, I read that they also offer free used coffee grinds to take home to your garden. My favorite part of the cafe, is that the donut flavors rotate, making things very interesting. I absolutely loved my little lemon poppyseed donut, but when the warm cinnamon sugar ones came right out of the oven, they absolutely stole the show. The burger for lunch was delightful, and the quiche was quite lovely as well. Highly recommend stopping in, no matter the occasion you will leave feeling refreshed with a wonderful bite to eat.

We are so lucky to have an authentic French cafe in Margaretville! The soups are delicious as is the quiche. I highly recommended the croissants--including the chocolate. The coffee is good as well with a nice variety. This place is a gem and also has a welcoming feel.

A charming space on Main St in Margaretville. My littles and I enjoyed some delicious treats and drinks at the outdoor table. Service was fast, and everyone working there and eating there was lovely!

Such a great find in a small town!! My mom and I love checking out different areas and browsing shops on cute main streets (especially antiques). We both got breakfast sandwiches, which were delicious! The herb Mayo was a great little flavor note that made this sandwich stand out a bit. The egg was a touch runny, just perfect! I got hot tea and mom got hot apple cider. I liked that the drinks and food were prepared to order and both staff members were friendly and working hard and efficiently. We tried a berry financier, which was tasty and buttery. Not sure why we didn't splurge and get a donut but now we have a reason to go back!! Definitely recommend visiting this area and stopping in for breakfast or a pastry and coffee/tea!!

Basically a lovely yummy breakfast and lunch café, but on occasion, these two extraordinary cooks do dinners that are superlative!. Last Saturday, we absolutely loved a wonderful eight course French dinner. Jean François and Dina are extraordinarily talented and love to please. If you get the chance to have dinner at cafe marguerite, don't pass it up. It is easily the best restaurant within 50 miles of Delaware County NY

Stopped here for a late breakfast and were impressed with the food. Fresh tasty menu items. They have breakfast sandwiches but don't serve them after 11, we missed that opportunity but there were still some good options. The bakery items were excellent and the hot drinks were above average. My wife had a chai latte not pictured that was spicy and tasty. The guys serving food and cooking were kind and there were lots of locals, the vibe of the place was cool. Wish the service was little more welcoming. It was totally worth the stop. Cute little downtown with some fun shops too

As a chocolate cookie "source" ...I pride myself on uncovering the freshest, tastiet, most decadent chocolate cookies around... Cafe Marguerite has just that cookie....now, this cookie doesn't come easy.... it won't be on display with the incredible almond croissants, mouth watering jelly donuts, perfectly baked scones... it is hidden and you will have to ask for it..... so, if you are shy .. you will miss out... on the best "biscuit au chocolate"

I was in the mood for a pastry on a recent drive through the Catskills so I stopped at this cafe. They had a lot of nice looking options but the chocolate almond croissant called to me. Honestly, it was one of the best pastries I've ever had anywhere. The filling was great and the croissant itself blew me away. The edges were perfectly crispy and flakey, and the inside was nice and soft. It was pretty too! I wish I took a picture but I'll just have to do that next time I go there. It seemed like it would be a wonderful place to have a cup of coffee and some sweets with a friend.

I have come to this cafe a few times now and every time I go I am blown away by the fresh, delicious, great selection of food. From bakery goods, breakfast and lunch, you will not be disappointed. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I can't wait till the warmer months arrive to eat out in the patio. Even during the winter months you can still find room inside the cozy cafe to sit and eat in this little picturesque town.

We went to this place for pastries on recommendation from our server at the Bennekill Tavern the night before, and she was spot on! I ate my pain au chocolat too quickly to grab a picture - that's how delicious it was. The danish, almond croissant, and blueberry scone were apparently excellent (also devoured before I could snap a photo.) This is a must-visit for anyone coming to this area of the Catskills.

We didn't know what to bring to our friends' brunch, but we saw some reviews of Cafe Marguerite and decided to give it a whirl. It didn't disappoint. Our choices were excellent. When we find ourselves in the area again, we'll be heading back!

Excellent lattes and fresh baked goods. I heard some other breakfast items being ordered but my full attention was on the plum financiers and Madeline's. Each buttery bite better than the next. Interior is best suited for a couple wishing to dine at window counter seating as space is smallish. However there is space for dining outside on a nice day. Prices are fair for quality of food and drinks. Glad this store is here!!!

Visited Cafe Marguerite while visiting the Catskills over the weekend. Very nice donuts with jam and pleasant outdoor sitting.

Amazing discovery in the middle of this little city. French delicious bake goods Like you find them in a boulangerie pâtisserie in France. We tried à madeleine, à financier, à pain au chocolat and a croissant. Everything was good, our favorite was the pain au chocolat. The chef is French! Only regret, they were closed on Tuesday! Don't hesitate to go!

This cute little cafe has amazing food and great service. We tried the everything croissant sandwich, banger sausage with pretzel roll and a cream filled donut - all were so delicious! They also sell local food condiments and chocolates and had an extensive coffee/drink list. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for breakfast or lunch or an edible gift to bring back to friends and family. As a local I'm happy to have another good restaurant nearby!!! Cafe Marguerite, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. 1. Pretzel croissants. Two words I'd never seen together but which are forever imbedded in my heart. And stomach. 2. Chocolate EVERYTHING. Cupcakes, cake, bars. 3. Hot coffee drinks. Not just good for Margaretville. They'd be good for NYC! 4. Cold coffee and tea drinks. See above! 5. Everything else I haven't mentioned. Donuts, quiche, cookies. 6. Warm and friendly service. I'm getting fat.

Relatively new, very cute and great coffee. The dirt chai was amazing. Chocolate croissant fresh out of the oven was delicious. This place is a gem, so lucky to have it so close! Highly reccomended

I've never been disappointed in anything I've gotten from Café Marguerite. Their almond croissants are a go-to for a decedent treat. I often bring goodies from CM as hostess gifts. They mix up their menu while keeping the fan favorites on hand which is great so there's always something new to try. Service is always friendly although I wish there was a faster setup to get in and out if you just need a few croissants. I seem to always end up behind someone in line who has a complicated order or a million questions. Or maybe I should just be more patient:)

Easter weekend, had the pleasure to visit an immaculate and quaint cafe. In the heart of Margaretville NY. This place is owned by a husband and wife team. The pastries, cakes, quiches, and even salad was to die for. Which were all housemade.This was my go to place during my stay. Planning to go back every few months. When next your in town this has to be your number one spot to visit.

Tried their croissants this morning and they were delicious. Our daughter really enjoyed the butter croissant and she's a tough critic. Looking forward to visiting again and trying the coffee and other baked goods.

My husband and I stopped for a bite to eat at Cafe Marguerite. We were elated to find a cafe selling specialty coffees had opened up in a Margaretville. We each ordered the pannini sandwich, which was beyond delicious. The owners were super friendly. We will definitely make a point of stopping here every time we return to Margaretville. We highly recommend this cafe.

Exceptional croissants! And coffee that even the most picky connoisseur will love. Absolutely love this place, and the owners are super nice as well.

I got the everything croissant with salmon and cream cheese & arugula- it is AMAZING!!!! I am addicted!!! Everything they make is incredible & they are lovely people. We hare SO LUCKY to have them right in our little town

We stopped by this teeny tiny gem today while out and about. Their Lattes are delish and the pastries are delish! I had a ding dong and was in heaven! The owners are so friendly and warm. This little treasure is in a cute little town with other interesting businesses. I especially love that Cafe Marguerite is next door to my favorite fabric store called Bloom. Every time I'm at my upstate home, Ill make a little trip to Cafe Marguerite for some yummy goodies!

Finally real coffee! And the best baked goods by people who know what they are doing. I can't praise this place enough, the lunch is also great.

I did not expect to find Croissants from France in this little town. They are excellent. Do not miss this place if you are in the area.

The cafe was so cute and we ate a little of everything. Had delicious pumpkin latte, Dirty Chai and a cold brew along with soup, panini (mozzarella squash pesto) and a ham and cheese croissant! We got lucky and beat the line and everyone was saying "so worth the wait!" And it was! Thank you Dina and Jean Francois and family for making the best coffee and sandwiches we ever ate. Going back soon

Desperate for enough coffee to feed 50 people at a picnic brunch in a park, we called around in vain until we found Cafe Marguerite. They were wonderful! Their menu looked so enticing on line that we added scones and madeleines to our order--so much more interesting than the bagels we'd brought from Costco! Two big cambros of good strong coffee and four boxes of pastries were ready for us when we arrived, and our guests devoured them all. This is a LOVELY bakery!

If I could give this cafe 6 STARS I would! The pastries are exceptional and the doughnuts put a smile on my face every time. Top it off with a double espresso. Perfection.

Delicious food, great coffee, super friendly. The pastry situation is dangerous, I dreamt about donuts last night as a result.
