Great food in a nice atmosphere. Really the best mango 🥭 smoothie I have ever had...no ice...just rich creamy and smooth and full of flavor. Staff is helpful and friendly. Chicken salad sandwich and hot chicken sandwich were both excellent. Sides were fresh and great...fruit or veggie.

During our first-time visit and breakfast today at Cafe Mark, there was a consistent line of at least ten people, it never stopped. That was very telling and this restaurant's vibe and food quality absolutely deserve the attention. It's nice to see an establishment doing so much steady business. For $50, we had two make-your-own omelets with toast (one cheese only and one with bacon, ham, feta, green peppers, onions and mushrooms), one side of potatoes, one hot coffee, one iced Chai of Sauron (amazing name AND taste!), blueberry muffin, and to go we grabbed a blueberry lemon pastry, and one massive cinnamon roll and another equally massive peanut butter cinnamon roll. A ton of food for a reasonable price. The omelets were not huge and only came with one slice of bread cut in half, which should really be two slices of bread. The eggs were great though. Potatoes were cooked well and paired nicely with the eggs. The nice young lady who brought the breakfast thought to bring ketchup with the potatoes, which was a good idea. The coffee drinks were very good and the pastries were out of this world. The restaurant itself has a very comfortable old world vibe, with tall ceilings and a second floor to dine in. It's fairly low fuss and simple, but the menu has a lot to offer for many diets. I can't really comment on the staff since interactions were limited. Thank you Cafe Mark for a tasty breakfast!

Google
The go-to spot for coffee & breakfast when in Cumberland. It's a really beautiful place inside and out, in a perfect location right in the heart of downtown. I was really impressed by the wide variety of teas available. The breakfast sandwiches were really good. This is the one spot we consistently visit everytime we're in Cumberland. Plenty of seating, inside and out.

Google
Happened upon this adorable cafe on the way back from a trip. Super awesome experience, food was delicious, good size portions and their snickerdoodle coffee was bomb ☺️ The quaint atmosphere on the one way street really makes it. Very dog friendly outside, several people had their dogs with them, wish I had my girl with us to enjoy, next time.

Google
Stopped here for a quick breakfast. On the outside looks like a small coffee shop but on the inside it’s huge! They have a whole dining area hidden in the back. (Maybe not hidden but definitely not noticeable) the staff were friendly and we got our drinks/food fast. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our bagel sandwiches. She got the lox on a jalapeño bagel and I had a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. Both super tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Google
The coffee flights are always fun and unique. My daughter loves coming here for lunch. Great food and pastries that are always moist and tasty. Everyone seems so polite and helpful, the atmosphere is like stepping into an entirely different place from the downtown area.

Always Be Adventuring

Google
This is our go-to spot for breakfast and coffee in Cumberland. They really have created something amazingly special here in Downtown. The location is perfectly centered in town, and the atmosphere and vibes inside are great. The building is absolutely beautiful inside with plenty of seating either in the new area on the first floor, or in the secluded upstairs away from the hustle and bustle. The staff are always amazing and friendly-especially Grace and Suzanna-they know me by name. If you're a coffee lover, they have coffee flights with multiple flavors of different varieties based on a different theme each week. Their food is equally as amazing. Always has amazing breakfast, and occasionally we will come for lunch and we highly recommend the chicken quesadilla for lunchtime. All their baked goods are handmade in-house-they are sweet and delicious. The only downside is this place is very popular and there is always a line-but that's part of the experience. In Japan they told me lines are good things, because it means there is something there to look forward to that makes something worth the wait.

Google
Visited Cafe Mark after our bike ride on the Allegheny Rail Trail. We both had sandwiches. The Mediterranean Wrap was tasty, fresh, and portion size good. The Cuban was same. Our sandwiches came with a side. We both had the very fresh and tasty mixed grilled veggies. Appreciate the opportunity to have a healthy alternative to french fries and chips.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, healthy options and nice staff. Very homey place. Upstairs and downstairs seating.

Yelp
The cafe was very busy, but they got my order out pretty quick. The service was attentive and fast. I ordered: The mozzarella tomato pita sandwich - the portions were a good size but how much you're paying for I would prefer something more filling. Tomato bisque - soup was good but it was cold when I got it. Lucky latte - the latte was on the sweeter side I would give it a try if wanted to go somewhere to study.

Yelp
Very efficient and delicious cafe lunch. We had the Reuben, house salad, and two kid pancake meals. The staff allowed our kids to get blueberry pancakes and that made their day. The cappuccino was lovely, and we enjoyed a round of Uno upstairs.

Yelp
A couple of days ago, I was lucky to have an excuse to be in Cumberland for a few hours (work meeting). On the recommendation of a local, I stopped by Cafe Mark for a coffee before I took a walk down Baltimore Street. My coffee (a cappuccino) was good, and the service was great. The interior is charming and larger than a lot of coffee shops I visit nowadays. With its location (just at the corner of Mechanic Street and Baltimore Street), I can definitely see why this spot is popular - with locals and with tourists. Just a good spot for a coffee if you're in the Cumberland Historic City Center!

Yelp
The coffee here is amazing! We had solid breakfast here also but the coffee was the best part. I will Recommend and gladly return. The staff was hardworking and friendly, they had a line out the door and were crushing it!

Kristi C.

Yelp
Service, food, especially deserts and coffee exceptionally good!! I would recommend Mark's 100%!

Yelp
First of all is more like a cafetière. You walk in there's no one yo help you, you have to ask other patrons, they guide you to go around the other side then you get in a line order the food they give a number you go back n sit and a guy will bring your food. The scrambled egg were the ugliest ever, my wife sent it back, he came back with eggs just as ugly, brown eggs ugh!!!. The best thing was the home fry. Coffee very strong. Will never go there again!

Yelp
I don't believe I took pics but trust me when I said 10/10. We walked in, a big group of us and they were not phased one bit. they took our order one by one, everything came out 100% correct and delicious. the vibe was great! We enjoyed ourselves very much. We traveled from deep creek and made a pit stop there on the way back to Baltimore. We had fun and did I say the food was amazing! very yummy.

Yelp
What a friendly and cool vibe. We found this cafe to be relaxing and the food was great. The powder room was hilarious. Our food came quickly. There should be more bike parking outside once the city finishes construction on the road. I loved this place so much that I bought a tee shirt to take with me.

Yelp
Cafe Mark is a happening place. Great vibe. They have a nice selection of food and coffees. We miss Mark but the current owners have kept the place just as special.

Yelp
The good: Food. Good: The new space. Good: serviceable internet. The bad: They make their lovely space nearly unusable with too loud music. (doesn't need to be silent, just quiet enough so that I'm not talking over it). Bad: coffee -- not good. Basecamp is right here. Local businesses should support each other. Bad: Disposable coffee cups even when eating in. Bad: understaffed. They limit hours of their workers to avoid paying benefits and it shows. "People don't want to work", my ass.

Yelp
Service: as a visitor, I felt discriminated. If you are not white, think twice coming to this place. It was 2:30 before closing, the two ladies at the front saw me coming and didn't even bother to ask what I was there for. They saw me and ignored me. Other white people were there, and assisted them .

Yelp
I took a weekend trip to Cumberland with my boyfriend and we hit up this cafe twice because of how good their breakfast options were. I really enjoyed their scramble bowl and seasonal drinks (specifically the chai apple cider). Service is a bit slow to be honest. I feel they need more people on the line to cook. It took almost 30 minutes for our order to come out. However our waitresses during both experiences have always been very attentive. It's definitely a cozy place to relax, hang out or just enjoy quality time with people.

Yelp
Outstanding. Food is well-made with good ingredients. Staff is friendly and vibe is hip.

Yelp
We were on the road when we came across Cafe Mark. What a happy discovery. I had the daily special-a turkey sandwich with havarti cheese, greens, and a peach compote on white bread. This sandwich was exceptional. The flavors were distinct and complementary. This is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The grilled vegetables on the side were equally good.

John K.

Yelp
Useless. They have no idea how to run a coffee shop. Four staff moving in inefficient, unhurried slow motion and the longest, slowest queue I've ever seen. We walked out after half an hour. We won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Whenever I'm in town, I always visit Cafe Mark for my breakfast. Been here 5 times now & it's always been a good visit. Food: French toast breakfast is really good Service: Service is always great. Everyone that works there is always nice and friendly. Atmosphere: Cute coffee shop inside Parking: Parking has been an issue lately with the street construction so I normally walk there or park in the back. Pricing: Reasonable price $

Yelp
Amazing food, delicious drinks, and incredible staff! In a short 24 hour stay, we went for A lunch and then breakfast the next day. For a family of three, each entree was AMAZING. Not a single complaint in food. Plenty of space, even during the lunch rush and there are board games upstairs to keep the kids entertained. The specialty drinks were half the fun. We tried their coffee Grinch flights, both in hot and cold. Such a cool experience. Would 1000% recommend this cafe to anyone stopping through or staying in Cumberland!

Yelp
Great food! I especially love the looseleaf teas for sale. I purchased coconut cream tea and chai. The staff are pretty friendly. It was especially busy and there was a long line to order, but that is to be expected during the weekend. The atmosphere was ok and seating was available for us upon walking in.
google avatar

Yelp
I just had the most delicious, dirtiest, sauciest quesadilla that man could make. If I had to choose life or death over that quesadilla best believe I'd drown in that creamy, dirty quesadilla. although my guac was forgotten I forgive you guys. i wish there was 6 stars. I shall return for another one.

Yelp
Great little cafe with a great atmosphere. We got off the train to start a three-day bike trip back up to Pittsburgh and we stopped here for breakfast. Hot drinks were delicious and the food was great. A large bathroom make it easy to change into our ridding gear. Would go back again!

Yelp
Great food and coffee! Obviously a local favorite as it was quite busy. Excellent service.

Yelp
this place is such a hit. all their latte options are so cool and unique and there's endless combination options. i could not resist in getting 2 lattes. the ladies working were very nice and fun and service was fairly decent. the place itself is cool and rustic and the perfect vibe. my friend and I did not get to try the food, but it all looked amazing as well.

Yelp
This was an uneven experience at a place with plenty of potential. I tried the coffee and a breakfast sandwich, both of which were fine. The location is outstanding in the heart of downtown. I loved the setup and decor. The staff seemed friendly. Coffee was fine (I'm not snobby about it so I can't really describe it beyond that). I turned around from the counter to dress it up with cream and sugar, but they only had cheap takeout single-serve creamers in a big steel bowl that looked like a kitchen tool (not even decorative). I had to peel them open and pour them in one at a time. The activity clashed with the rest of the experience. I think they could improve their flow at the counter. It seemed slower than necessary, and the line frequently flowed back to the door.

Yelp
Haven't been to Cafe Mark in a while Stopped in today to check out their expanded location. Decided on a breakfast burrito. They made something simple into a delicious breakfast. Location, food and service were all great. A tiny bit pricey but worth every penny. P.S Miss my friend Mark Rose.

Yelp
We had an order of over $100. We waited for an hour and received half of our order. It's now an hour and a half later and we complained for Did a second time. They gave us a $25 gift certificate and promised to bring the last two items in to go boxes. This is not a way to run a business.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and great prices! The food is great. Coffee is good. People are friendly. And the cooks are the best and most detailed! Check them out as they prepare your food!

Yelp
First impressions say a lot. The vibe of this cafe is reminiscent of a bohemian coffee shop. Everything we ate was delicious--salads, pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches---and the drinks were superb (GREAT coffee, boba tea, and smoothies). 100% recommend, especially for families.

Yelp
What a lovely cafe in a beautiful historic town. It has two levels and the upstairs is very cozy with big country dining tables and sofas. The main level has a long counter where you put your order in after picking from the menu of breakfast and lunch items. They have muffins and a variety of flavored coffees. Definitely a must if you are in or near Cumberland in WV.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
This place is so cute, and the coffee is strong and good! I had a latte and sampled my husband's iced americano. I got there in the early afternoon so it wasn't pastry time but it looked like they had muffins and bagels. COVID things: staff all wore masks, and the patrons I encountered while I was there kept a safe social distance. The tables I saw seemed to be up so think inside dining/hanging out isn't kosher, which suited me just fine. The pedestrian street nearby was the perfect place to people watch.

Yelp
Bottom Line: Cute cafe serving coffee, tea, breakfast and lunch. We visited on a dreary rainy Saturday to pick up sandwiches for our ride on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. We called our order in about 25 minutes in advance. Downtown Cumberland seemed busy that day, it was raining and we didn't know where to park so that was no fun. Since it was Saturday and we were going to be quick we ultimately parked in a business' private lot - not ideal. Once inside Cafe Mark it was super cozy but we still had to wait in line about 10+ minutes to pay for our order which was two sandwiches with chips. After we left we realized that we didn't get our chips. I guess we were supposed to grab them off the rack but we didn't know that and it was communicated to us. Darn, I was really craving chips on that rainy Saturday but I didn't *need* them. Anyway, our sandwiches were good. My husband had the Turkey Tornado with turkey, swiss, avocado, lettuce, tomato and aioli. I had the Turkey Club with turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and oregano mayo. The sauces really make the sandwiches and I am so glad we took our own lunch on the train ride so we didn't have to scramble for a lunch option in Frostburg. Several of our fellow passengers were eyeing up our gourmet sandwiches asking where we got them. The employees were super friendly and the menu overall was very appealing. All of the customers seemed very content. Next time I'd be happy to try the Ham, Brie and Fig sandwich or the Breakfast Reuben. And next time I'll be smarter about parking and the chips!

Yelp
Very cute café. Great to visit on my lunch break. The service was very quick even during the lunch rush. Definitely a place I recommend.

Yelp
I cannot recommend Cafe Mark enough. Every single time we go the staff is welcoming, atmosphere is calming, and everything I've ordered is perfect. This morning my toddler accidentally kicked my drink out of my hand. Staff immediately got on it. One started mopping, one started wiping the table, and one made me a whole new drink free of charge. Usually when children do that kind of thing, people roll their eyes and move along. They went above and beyond.

Yelp
Jodi, Thank you very much for the speedy delivery of the gift certificate. The card arrived yesterday. Knowing how highly the recipients enjoy your restaurant, they will be thrilled with the gift. Gayle

Yelp
What a lovely spot to grab soup and a Sammy. They have many hand made teas for you to choose from. The Reubens are to die for! Also fresh veggies for one of the choices of sides. Sit outside if you can for a view of the church on the hill. The staff are very sweet. Ps don't miss the desserts...yum

Yelp
Love this adorable and cozy spot! Pro's -Makes me feel like I am home! So cozy! Definitely seeing myself reading a book or working on my laptop here. -Order at the front and they bring the food right out to you! -Very friendly service! It was our first time but the staff there made us feel like regulars. -Great, strong coffee! -Food was omg.. to die for. Food did take a while to make but it's worth the wait! They make everything from scratch and to perfection! I ordered a breakfast sandwich. That bread.. omg.. Toasted with the right amount of crisp and butter. It really made my sandwich that much more enjoyable. -Plenty of street parking in downtown Cumberland. -Comfy couch and seats for a more relaxed sitting. They have board games and books to keep you occupied. I really don't have anything negative to say about Cafe Mark. I can't wait to come back and wish this place was closer to me!

Yelp
Such a cute little spot to pop in for a bite and a coffee. We all enjoyed our food and our caffeine. Grateful to top off lunch with an ice cream for my little guy too. Will absolutely purposely stop here again in our travels. We got here about an hour before closing and felt no sense of urgency. Everyone seemed to run through the finish line.

Yelp
My new favorite breakfast spot in Cumberland! Cafe Mark is an absolute staple on the downtown Cumberland mall. With an impressively extensive menu, everything is made to order fresh--you can actually see the chefs cooking while you wait for your coffee! From handcrafted coffees (with extensive flavors like Snickers, S'mores, etc.) and several tea options, to sweet and savory breakfast options, and even ice cream--you can absolutely find something for everyone here. The coffee was delicious and breakfast was too! This place is very popular so expect about a 10-20 minute wait at the very least--there will be a line! Perfect for slow weekend mornings when you're not in a rush. Afterward, you can check out several local shops on the mall, or head to the canal path for biking or walking!

Yelp
A wonderful breakfast. Only disappointment was the limited Sunday menu, so I had to change my order on the fly. Sat upstairs to people watch and it was clear to see why a limited menu worked well. Ordering was quick and simple. Ordered tea and took my table number upstairs to wait. Food took longer than I imagined, but worth the wait. My omelette was cooked perfectly and the veggies in my omelette were perfect, not soggy. The marble rye was flavorful, toasted great. I loved watching my tea being made. It's not a bag, but tea from a canister, filled in the spot, and dispensed into my cup. No Lipton tea here! The line was never shorter than the door and outdoor seating also available. Prefect for this Fall Weather

Yelp
Called in a breakfast order to go, and picked it up right on time when they said it would be ready. The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the food was delicious perfectly prepared. This is our new favorite place in Cumberland.

Yelp
Nice little Cafe in cumberland. The wait time is not long. The cafe respects covid-19 rules and is clean. We had the blueberry pancake which is massive and a blueberry bagel with cream cheese( I ate half of the bagel and was full). My chai with oat milk was delicious, hubby had a flat white. Everything was good, thank you Mark Cafe.

Eric G.

Yelp
Fantastic little place. Good coffee and outstanding breakfast sandwiches. Biscuits and gravy was fantastic.

Yelp
Food is good but it's overpriced. Pretty crowded area and parking is difficult. Service is good
google avatar

Courtney E.

Yelp
Since they've done a lot of renovating, the place looks great and they've significantly changed the menu. Luckily, they have loose teas now and a couple French toast options. Today I ordered the strawberry banana stuffed French toast and it was so tasty. Cream cheese in the middle, banana and strawberries covered it, and tasty cream on the top. I think I ate it in 4 minutes. I know they're working out the kinks with all the new changes. They misplaced my order ticket, which delayed the French toast from coming out, but they refunded some cash- pretty big of them.

Yelp
Very cute spot! Honey Pecan pancakes were delicious and they had a great selection of teas. Friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
The staff is always efficient and friendly. They usually have a nice lunch special and always have fresh muffins. My recommendation, eat upstairs, it's a little noisy downstairs.

Yelp
Cute cafe! Exceptional breakfast. Husband said his sausage was so tasty. I had egg white sandwich and it was very good. Great local cafe!
