Came here for my anniversary celebration on a weekend night around 8:15pm to find that they are closing by 9pm… 😭 needless to say the only options was take away but the manager gave us special exception to dine in on takeouts - up till 9pm. When we brought up that it was actually our anniversary they offered a complimentary piece of take on the house and that for me was such a beautiful touch. We hurriedly finish our meal and made a move before they closed and were super grateful for their service. Really appreciate the kindness, and will definitely be back again next time. Thank you! ☺️

Came for lunch on a Saturday. The indoor space was closed for a private event, which was a real bummer because we did not see any notification posted on their IG or FB page prior. Food was OK, but not wow. We had the Beef Me Up burger, and fish and chips. The burger was good; patty was juicy. The fish, however, was a major let down - looking at how pale it was could tell you that it might be a tad undercooked. I’m no chef, but I think leaving it in the fryer for just a minute longer could have made it that much more palatable. Needless to say, it was bland. Coffee was OK, but the matcha latte was another sore point. It was equally pale and tasted more like milk than matcha. We should have checked a review that was posted just 3 weeks prior and taken the advice. It’s not a bad place, but unless you drive or have spare cash, I don’t think it’s worth a visit. At least not this branch.

Had a negative experience dining here. 1. Indoors was closed for a private event and we were given a table outdoors, fine. However, once the event ended and the tables indoors were empty, we weren’t given a choice to move inside. 2. Being given a table outdoors, the service was negligible. There wasn’t a single staff paying attention to the tables outdoors and we couldn’t even get their attention. The only time they came outdoors was to serve us our food and asked us for payment. 3. Regarding the payment, the staff came to ask us to pay RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of our meal. Reason? “We are going for our break so we need to settle the bill first”. Huh? Having worked in the FnB industry before, I believe what FnB establishments usually do is to let their staff go on staggered break times, unless they specifically mention that they close at certain timings for their break, which Cafe Melba made no mention of, neither was it indicated anywhere. 4. Food was subpar. Fish and chips tasted bland, and when I say fish and chips, it really was the fish and the chips. Both were a pale yellow without any significant taste to them. Fish was 60% batter, 40% meat (depicted in the photo) - $23 before GST & Service Charge. 5. Matcha latte - a picture speaks a thousand words. Looking at the colour, you’d know it’s an instant flop. All I tasted was diluted milk with just a subtle hint of matcha, and they shamelessly included it in the menu and named it ‘Matcha Latte’. A glimpse at a recent review tells us the same story about their matcha latte, and you’d think they’d made some improvements. Spoiler alert: they didn’t. $8 before GST & Service Charge for this absurdity. 6. The only saving grace was the ‘Beef Me Up’ burger, which tasted good. If I’m being objective, the beef patty was not overdone and still retained its juiciness. Thus, an extra star for an otherwise 1-star review.

Great spot for families. Tons of open space, super kid-friendly, and even has a bouncy castle. There’s both indoor and alfresco seating, a good range of food, and plenty of room for kids to run around (bring a ball or scooter!). Food was tasty, and the staff were prompt in service. All in, a lovely weekend hangout.

Kitchen was quite slow and doesn't seem to be able to handle large volume of orders. I had the pork loin from their lunch set and the gelato. Pork was a tad tough but well-flavoured. Portions were also unequal and unfortunately I received the smallest one amongst my peers. The gelato honestly looks more like just a scoop of vanilla ice cream from an ice cream tub and was a disappointment as well. Yet it took more than 10 min and several reminders to the staff before this was served inelegantly in a coffee cup.

Cafe Melba @ mediapolis is another excellent outlet that is perfect for families with young kids over weekends. The cafe frequently hosts a variety of kids events. Located next to mediapolis park, the outdoor space provides a great setting for activities like tug-of-war and other group games. There are also hourly indoor activities held under the shaded entrance, including face painting and crafts. The cafe is spacious and tastefully decorated. Although some areas, like the bouncing castle, had suffered from wear and tear. Be prepared for crowds during weekends when events are held. Service standard can be affected during these events. That said, the food and fun more than makes up for it. Food portions are generous for the price. The pizzas are consistently excellent, though the lattes are fairly average. Kids event package usually includes a cupcake, pasta and milkshake, a great deal. Cafe Melba remains one of the best spots for families to have a weekend full of fun.

We often visit Cafe Melba Mediapolis, and their service is consistently excellent. AND we just had an amazing Sunday, this time celebrating our daughter's birthday at Cafe Melba Mediapolis! Sheikh and his staff were exceptionally accommodating for a large group party and went above and beyond to provide a wonderful experience for everyone! Thank you, Team! I highly recommend this place for its excellent food, friendly staff + service, sheltered bouncy castle, and both indoor and outdoor spaces for kids to run around.
