"Wake up to Santiago's Best Brunch at Melba Expat Dell Taylor (from New Zealand ) left accounting for the restaurant business over a decade ago in Santiago when the concept of brunch did not yet exist. Café Melba was born and quickly became the place to get real french toast with real maple syrup, pancakes, eggs benedict and frothy cappuccinos. Absolutely delicious, fairly priced and great atmosphere. I ordered the Shakshuka para compartir and it was massive!! Very delicious and it came with 2 coffees!! I had a cafe americano and my sister had a free tea with the meal! Very reasonable, everything was like $17000 to give a ballpark price for brunch.

I really wanted this to be a 5-star rating, but the quality of the food was just average. I like everything else about it, pleasant atmosphere, good location, good service, reasonable prices, beautiful looking dishes, well organized menu...but just average taste. I ordered the first thing on the breakfast menu, which the waiter recommended. It was very filling but not that tasty. Perhaps the waffles, French toast or eggs Benedict would have been a better choice as the sausage and bacon were the disappointing parts. With lots of other good options close by, I would be hard pressed to go back.

It's my favorite coffee house in El Golf district. Nice atmosphere, EXCELLENT coffee, great pastry and sandwiches... I've never been to Melba for lunch because I'm never around at lunchtime, but I'm sure their lunch options are great. Highly recommended.

This place was a real gem while still owned by its original Kiwi proprietor. Since then it has struggled a bit but lately returned to decent form. Its menu offers dishes oriented to north American tastes but avoids the standard chain restaurant fare. Good brunch selection on the weekend. Nice patio on Don Carlos, a quiet street. Closed in the evening. Update - still decent. Staff are super efficient and very kind. Service is quick. Large portions. Great location.
