It is my first time to visit Vienna. I recommend to all this cafe is worth to go if you like Mozart. The cafe menu mainly provide coffee ,tea, cakes ,dessert, dishes for us. The bill is reasonable and the decoration of the cafe is very grand. Remember to take more photo to keep memories. The dining area is not only inside but also outside. The venue is convenient to go and many historical aand arts building around here. One of 5 stars hotel is besides here. Happy cafe.

Food is good. Vienniese soup pot is a must try. So many great desserts to try. Staff is friendly & you can be seated inside or outside. Reservation recommend, it's located across from the Albertina museum & in a high traffic area.

A great café experience in Vienna—we really liked it. The service was kind, and although we had to wait a short while to be seated, the food came quickly. I enjoyed the truffle cake and the coffee; the Mozart cake was also very good. Both desserts were pleasantly light, which was a nice surprise. The best part is definitely the atmosphere inside. Recommended!"

Google
This felt like a classic Viennese café experience. Although not dedicated gluten free, as you would expect, there was a range of gluten free cake available and all allergens were clearly labelled. The Mozart hot chocolate was delicious. Although it is very popular and was busy, the service was attentive and quick. We enjoyed our visit.

I had the Mozart torte it was amazing! It was the perfect way to end our visit to Vienna. My daughter had the strawberry cardinal which was also good.

BODENLOSE FRECHHEIT! Wenn du aus Wien bist solltest du nicht mal mit Bezahlung hier essen oder dein hart erarbeitetes Geld ausgeben. Growing up in Vienna this has been a favorite of mine & my father’s. We used to come at least once a week. Today we decided to come eat lunch here. & it was a very different experience & quality than I am used to here. The prices are outrageous sure but I understand it’s in a touristy area & tourists are used to overpay. Me too & I still always tipped with pleasure because the staff is kind & the food is/used to be amazing. You want quality food for a decent price or have a luxury lunch or dinner but with dishes you will remember from your trip? Go here: PLACHUTTA, TIROLERHOF, Meissl & Schaden, CAFÉ PRÜCKEL, even Cafe Landtmann (which is also owned by the same family as Cafe Mozart), everything else but this in the first district! Please if you really want to eat here just go for coffee & cake not actual food! We ordered 1 salad with add on Shrimp, 1 iced coffee (w ice cream), 1 mineral (bottled) still water & 1 bottle of TAB WATER for the table. The salad was 10 leaves of lettuce with a couple croutons for 17.50€. The shrimps you guys oh my god, 2 jumbo shrimp that were grilled in their shell so I had to peel it myself lol. 9€?! 9euro for 2 shrimp! I told him you can get the check for us but deduct the shrimp please. So he said yes. I tipped them & I got my bill. Looking at the bill as stated on the picture they charged me 3.50€ for TAP water you guys. Is this normal I don’t understand. Water in Vienna is free!!! We have excellent tap water & they already overcharge on everything else, it is not necessary to charge customers for something that is not even bottled mineral water! Very unkind in my opinion, if the quality is right & it is overpriced I am okay with tipping a good amount but not to pay for something that is completely free in Vienna.

If you want to try some original Viennese cakes I suggest you go here. The cakes are delicious. We sat outside because the weather was nice, but inside is very pretty, too.

Classic Viennese coffee house/Konditorei. Friendly staff and prompt service. Loved the Landtmann cake and good coffee. Reasonable prices for the location.

Yelp
Vienna's Cafe Mozart boasts an ornate interior and a delightful ambiance. It is exceptionally busy on New Year's Eve, however the waitstaff remained attentive. Mozart's Landtmann's Heiße Schokolade is on par with Vienna's finest cacao, albeit at a steeper price point. Thicker consistency without an overbearing sweetness. I enjoyed the tangy flavors in the seasonal Himbeer-Vanilleschüsserl. The fresh raspberries and rose-pink cream toppings were particularly appealing, however the tart's crust was unexpected dry and brittle. The Trüffeltorte was an unexpected disappointment. Despite an impressive presentation, the cake sponge was dry and stiff. Worse, the torte filling was underwhelming, and falled to convey a chocolatey experience. Overall, Mozart's ambiance and exceptional hot chocolate compensated for the lackluster truffle torte. I am interested in returning to sample their rendition of the famous Sacher Torte. I would recommend visiting this cafe at least once.

Yelp
We had our first meal in Vienna at the Mozart Cafe. It was one of a few places that had quick a long line, so our thinking it was decent enough to warrant many people wanting to dine here. Personally, I've never heard of this place. The only claim to fame is that it is one of the establishments in the Sacher Hotel. We perhaps waited 20 to 30 minutes. We were seated at a booth at the window. We had a nice view of the Albertina across the street. I started off with a traditional Viennese soup consisting of beef consume, noodles and a large bread dumpling. For my entree, I had the veal loaf and mashed potatoes. The soup was amazing and I could have eaten another bowl. The veal was tasty but the brown gravy was overly salty. My spouse got the Viennese fried fish. I was thinking the fish would be breaded and fried like Schnitzel. However it is beer batter fried! I would stay away from that if you're looking for traditional Viennese cuisine. To end the meal, we shared the kaiserschmarrn. It was good but for what it was--the ones you get at the Christmas markets seem more interesting. Next time!!

Yelp
These eggs though! WOW! I have never tasted anything so fresh and delicious. Amazing. Service good. Outdoor dining ambiance very relaxing.

Yelp
Beautiful cafe inside. Yummy sweet treats & I had a delicious pumpkin soup. Service was good. A bit pricey.
google avatar

Roger M.

Yelp
It is a major tourist destination. I don't think I saw a single local in it. But, it serves delicious cakes and coffee with service in Vienna style. They even have gluten free, but it wasn't so good.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved everything at this place, the food, the ambiance, what I didn't like was being asked for a tip, when did Europe get so gauche? I'm not even American, go get tips from those people.
google avatar

Tyler D.

Yelp
I'll first start off with the food. I ordered the steaksandwich which was more of an open faced deconstructed sandwich. It was decent. The steak wasn't glorious but wasn't horrendous. The atmosphere of this place was amazing. It's kind of a tourist trap as the prices were very expensive. I chatted with the waiter in German and he was very polite. In summary. Great spot. Pretty overpriced. The waiters will ask for a tip.

Yelp
This was a fun place to visit on our recent trip to Vienna. I believe it to be a bit touristy and you could find more "local spots" but the location and the ambiance is truly amazing. The hot chocolate and crepes we got was great and the service was pretty good considering how busy it was.
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
We stopped here for an afternoon cafe break, as it had the shortest line of the few cafes in the area. Line moved quickly and orders deliver quickly as well. Drinks and food are ok but the request to add tip ah the end of the meal was a downer. What sounded like locals at the table next to us were not asked the question - don't try to rip off foreigners!
google avatar

Yelp
This was one of the RUDEST places I have ever been to in my life. I was standing right in front of the "please wait to be seated" signed waiting for someone to help me for over 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged me, despite multiple workers walking past me a dozen times. The last straw was when one of the workers talked to a German speaking lady that came in five minutes after me. I don't recommend this place at all - everyone working there seemed incredibly rude and hates tourists.

Yelp
We stopped in here during our day trip to Vienna to grab a coffee and apple strudel. We felt like we couldn't leave Vienna without trying apple strudel. I will definitely say this place has become an Instagram place. Everyone around us was posing for photos and taking photos of their food. We were able to sit down right away which was nice. We both ordered a coffee as well. I will say overall, our food and drinks were like the best thing ever but they were solid. This is a great place to say you went. It is also located close to all the main attractions. We didn't get food other than the strudel but their food looked pretty good. Also a note of cultural differences for Americans visiting: 1. is when you are done, you need to ask for the check. 2. check what tipping norms are, I think we were told traditional tipping is around 10% 3. when you finish your water, you need to ask for more water, they do not have someone you walks around filling waters. Overall, I recommend for anyone visiting to check this place out if you want to be able to say you went. I am sure you can get better coffee and strudel elsewhere but this is such a well-known place we felt like we couldn't miss it.

Yelp
The service was instant and considering we came Saturday lunch !!!!!! We had two beers, Caesar salad and the apple strudel. The strudel was exceptional and the salad was well... a Caesar salad ! The waiter was prompt and friendly! Great place to stop. The couple with us had goulash and said it was excellent.

Yelp
We stopped in for a late breakfast on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area. The service was friendly and attentive. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the Viennese breakfast and it was delicious. The coffee americano was tasty as well.
google avatar

Yelp
It was ok. We went after seeing Cinderella opera at the Vienna opera house, a 3 minute walk. It was 10:45 pm and fairly empty Ordered the Apple strudel with vanilla cream. It was good. And the chocolate layer cake which was just ok

Yelp
What a special environment. One gets a sense that this is a local spot and very classy without too much prevention. They offer gluten free options but few are both gluten and dairy free. I ordered bacon and eggs and it came out beautiful! The bacon is thin like prosciutto and they make the eggs Sunny side up. I ordered a black coffee, which was interpreted as espresso, which was a great surprise because that's actually what I wanted! The espresso is delicious and they provide hot water if you want more of an americano (I didn't). Definitely worth stopping in!

Yelp
I am an Asian who visited alone. When I called the waiter (a white-haired man with glasses and an old man), he pretended not to see me and did not come right away. He went to other customers first. When I asked if I could pay in cash, he did not answer properly and only said louder the amount I had to pay. I wanted to leave Vienna with good memories, but I feel bad because of that waiter.

Yelp
This place was so nice that we ended up here twice. Besides the fact that it's been named in a movie or 2 and has had famous creatives frequent it, it also has great food and excellent service. At first, we just stopped for drinks. We had different spritzes on offer. They were both delicious. We then returned for lunch and had the white asparagus soup. It was divine! Would have loved to try more of their seasonal asparagus dishes but it was our last day there. Highly recommend if you're on the area.

Yelp
Fantastic place in Salzburg. We were treated extremely well with the food, beverages and service. Great location on the river.

Yelp
Food was great, a group of us dined there twice in Aug.2023. Wiener schnitzel was excellent, so were the veal medallions (actually meat balls, but very tasty) . On another occasion bit tired of Wiener schnitzel and wanting a lighter meal, I had an excellent Caesar salad with salmon. Others I'm my party had it with giant shrimp. We tried the apple strudel (The real thing!!! not the puff pastry americanized version) the Mozart torte, hazelnut torte, choc torte, the cake portion could have been a bit more moist, but those thin crisp dark chocolate coating & ganache fillings were so very good. The waiter came with a hand held card reader giving each of us our own bill, real nice when dining with a group of people .Weather was beautiful, we set outside. Googling the place later, I'm sorry we didn't explore the beautiful inside.

Yelp
When we couldn't get in at out first try at Sacher we settled for this place right around the corner. It was empty so that should have been a sign. The 'Sacher' torte was very dry. I just didn't eat it and stuck with the cappuccino. The waiter was very gratuitous and quick with the service, I was just unhappy with the torte. The had lots of different pastries to choose from. I would pass on the Sacher torte.
google avatar

Allen T.

Yelp
Location is smack dab in the middle of Vienna. While the location is good, the sachertorte and the coffee that I got with it were mid. Honestly, wait in line for the real deal at Sacher hotel around the corner. There are 3 shops in the hotel that sell the "original" Sachertorte.
google avatar

Helena J.

Yelp
I gave them a four because the server could've been a bit more attentive and it seems we chose the section that had dogs! I've been tempted to go back however I wanted to try other restaurants but this had to have been the most amazing tomato soup I've ever had. The lemonade had a different taste, but we drink it.

Margaret W.

Yelp
The food was fine but not amazing. The cake was good, and they had a gluten free option. Great location & good staff.
google avatar

Yelp
I hate giving such bad review but Cafe Mozart had such terrible service. It not only takes so long to get a table, the food comes out painfully slow. I think we waited about 45 minutes on food and another 30 minutes just to get refill on waters. What makes it worse is that they charge for tap water...2.5 euros to be exact for a small glass jar of water and anther 2.5 euros for refills. Food was ok. We had cheeseburger and Caesar salad. It was as expected but for the service or the lack of, not worth it at all. We initially wanted dessert and coffee after our meal, but changed our minds quickly when we realized how bad the service was. It would've taken another hour for it I am sure.
google avatar

Olivia L.

Yelp
Food was overpriced and not just mediocre, but honestly kind of bad. I got this egg dumpling dish, which charged an extra 3 euros for truffle oil. It was basically scrambled eggs with egg dumplings (just eggs mixed with flour by the taste of it). Normally I don't waste food and try to finish everything, but this was just so bad that I could not finish it. The texture was just so strange, and the truffle oil did not make things better. There was a nice view from the restaurant, but that was about it (and frankly, you could get the exact same view just standing on the street next to the restaurant).
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
Sachertarte is pretty and looks good, but don't let it fool you. It's dry, tasted hard as cardboard and pretty flavorless. Would not recommend, doesn't taste like the typically chocolate cake you'd get in the US, or other parts of the world.

Erin B.

Yelp
It was absolutely phenomenal service and food!! We had Herr Hasan as our waiter and he was so very sweet and asked my group about what we were doing in Europe as we are here on vacation. Would definitely recommend the fruity cheesecake and coffee hot chocolate!
google avatar

Zack G.

Yelp
Is it touristy? Sure. Is it cheap? Nah. But the coffee and desserts were delicious and the architecture was beautiful. I would recommend at least stopping by for a melange and compare it with other coffee shops in the area (like Cafe Central). If you are visiting Vienna, Cafe Mozart is a cool place to relax and restore some energy. As famed Austrian scholar Charles P. Thompson would say, "try to realize it's all within yourself, no one else can make you change".
google avatar

S N.

Yelp
We kind of stumbled onto Cafe Mozart after a morning walk on our first day in Vienna. There were six of us. Everything we had was top drawer and the experience from beginning to end was flawless and very comfortable. A great place.
google avatar

Shirin P.

Yelp
Another touristy restaurant in Vienna where they serve mediocre food and get away with it. We sat outside and they have heat lamps which is nice but the food and deserts were not that great.
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
My friend and I were tired walking around Vienna and found this very welcoming place to just sit down and relax with some coffee and pastries. We did notice it was a bit higher prices than the other cafes but after a long day walking it really didn't matter, and you could have fun people watching as well from the seats. The food here was alright for a main course, and the desserts didn't feel extraordinary but they were fine. The coffee was great, and service was alright... otherwise it definitely felt like a tourist trap cafe.

Carlie P.

Yelp
Super relaxed atmosphere. The staff was so very nice. This was probably the best breakfast I had in Vienna. I can't recommend this place enough
google avatar

Mannie D.

Yelp
We were walking around trying to figure out what to eat and saw Cafe Mozart and decided to get a table. We were seated almost immediately although most of the outdoor tables were full. They checked out vaccination cards even though we were eating outside, which was great as the tables were very close to each other. We tried the schnitzel and Viennese fried chicken. Lots of food and generous portions. We also tried the coffee crème cake and the strawberry waffle cone. Even had a cold hazelnut coffee. Everything was good, especially the desserts. Great place to grab dessert or coffee. Service is great, location is right in the heart of the city. No one rushes you to leave. Eat and drink at your leisure. If you're in the area, I would recommend to give it a try.
google avatar

Nancy L.

Yelp
Went to quite a few cafes in Vienna including the famous Cafe central, but, cafe Mozart my favorite. Food, ambience, location, all great. Price is also reasonable for the quality and experience, and did I mention location. Yes you may have to wave at the waiter to get service but that's just anywhere in Vienna and the waiters are fine.
google avatar

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Excellent staff, service and food. The chocolate banana pastry was incredible!!! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jaclyn M.

Yelp
My family and I were looking for a quick bite to eat before our bus picked us up for our group tour. Our tour guide recommended this place, specifically for their cakes, so we had to try it out! My mom ordered a chicken Cesar salad, brother ordered the sausage platter, while my other brother and I ordered dessert. Service was okay, the menus had an English side on the back. I can't say anything about the sausage platter, but my family enjoyed it. The Cesar salad was tasty and had big slices of chicken in it. My brother's dessert was interesting..it was pieces of bread with sides of raspberry and pear jam. It was a little on the dry side. I had a cute chocolate cake that was super moist and the chocolate sauce helped out my brother's dessert! Overall, this place is probably best just for fancy pastries and desserts. It's a little on the pricey side so I wouldn't recommend getting actual meals. It is really cute inside and out so take pictures :)

Yelp
Good cafe located near central Vienna. Since this place is located near a lot of tourist destinations, it's understandable that it can be perceived as a touristy cafe but I did see a lot of locals dine here as well. The ambiance here was lovely and the restaurant was well-appointed. The menu is fairly substantial thought I decided to go with the safe play and try some Viennese dumpling soup and the weiner schnitzel. Both were very tasty and well made. While the schnitzel wasn't the best I had during my trip, it was still pretty well cooked and flavorful. The local potato salad and small side of jam were perfect accompaniments to a fine meal. All in all this was a very good experience thanks to all of the above along with their friendly (and surprisingly brisk) service. I'd say this isn't something you go out of you way to visit if you're in town, but if you are nearby and want something decent to eat in a pleasant place, you can't go wrong with Cafe Mozart.
google avatar

Linnea H.

Yelp
Come here instead of the Sacher Hotel around the corner. Trust me, the sacher torte is just the same and the service at Mozart is much better. The line is slightly shorter than Sacher, but you should aim to get there before 11 to avoid long waits. Although you probably came for the delicious pastries and Viennese coffee, they do also feature some savory bites. Yes, its touristy, but it's good and a memorable experience if you want to get a taste of european coffee culture.
google avatar

Holly P.

Yelp
Everything here was pretty good, my drink which is their new drink for summer was delicious and refreshing and for my main entree I had schnitzel which I forgot to take a picture of was delicious, the potatoes did taste a little mushy but overall it was tasty. We did wait quite a long time for a our food, so if you are looking for a quick bite to eat, this is not the place for you. For desert I ordered the bananenschnitte which was also delicious. My friend ordered a coffee, a pink drink, and a ham and cheese toast and our totally came out to over €80, which in my opinion was extremely overpriced for what we got. Service was pretty good for the most part, at some pints are server seems annoyed becasue we were ordering to slow, but there was also a language barrier so I will give him that, but he ended up being very kind. Overall everything. was great except for the price, maybe next time, just go for a coffee and share a pastry, there are plenty of other lore affordable food places nearby, but definitely worth it for the Viennese coffee house vibe!

Yelp
In Vienna for the holidays!! Decided after a busy morning at the Hapsburg Palace to try to find something to eat here since so many places during the Christmas stretch are closed. First off this place is hard to get a spot in. Generally has a line waiting outside. We waited 30 min. During the winter make sure u have a jacket on with the cold wind outside. Also be prepared to start sweating also as the entrance which they make you wait in has a small area with the most powerful heater that'll give you a good sweat before your meal. After getting in... The service is acceptable especially for Vienna standards. Came and took our order after 10 min and our meal was out in around 30 min. Decided to get a cheeseburger which was was very good. Also ordered a hot chocolate which was good, however the hot chocolate wasn't very "hot". Parents went with the fish and chips and lamb entree. These entrees aren't for sharing as one entree is really meant for one person. Honestly I've had some bad experiences with restaurants. This was probably the best experience setting the bar very low. But really it's a nice place to have a meal in if you are willing to wait.

Yelp
Fortunately our tour bus dropped us off at the Vienna State Opera House on our 2nd Day in Vienna. After looking around for a place to eat we landed upon Cafe Mozart. There was a line outside, but the menu looked great so we waited. What a great decision! The service and the food could not have been better. On our initial visit we met Robert who took great care of us. We are not a easy group as my daughter has type 1 Diabetes, so finding her food is always a challenge and Robert did not flinch in taking care of us. Of our 14 Days in Vienna we dined at Cafe Mozart 6 Times with our group that varied from 4 to 8 depending on the day. They did not miss a beat. In fact we decided to spend New Years Eve at Cafe Mozart and Robert along with the entire staff could not have been nicer. Robert and team made our stay in Vienna even more enjoyable as we felt we had a home away from Home at Cafe Mozart. When in Vienna, you have to go to Cafe Mozart and not just for deserts ( which are insane). We made a new friend who made us feel special. Don't miss out in this special place!!!!
google avatar

Richa T.

Yelp
We stopped by here for dessert after roaming around all over Vienna for a full day site seeing. We ordered the Strawberry Mousse Cone and an apple strudel to share. Both were incredible, although I was a little partial to the Strawberry Mousse. The apple strudel was like a hot apple pie that tasted incredible. The crust was a flaky and buttery heaven. It doesn't look incredibly large, but it is definitely big enough to share. It's quite a dense, little, delicious pastry. The other thing we ordered was one of the strawberry mousse. The dish was served in a large chocolate dipped waffle cone with fresh strawberries, almonds, and pieces of cake mixed into the cone. Absolutely incredible! It's refreshing enough to where a single person could definitely eat the whole thing. However, it was definitely much more fun to share.

Yelp
Classic Austrian breakfast, pastries, and coffee. Stopped by for a quick breakfast before some sightseeing in Vienna. It's a classic cafe in the city that all tourists stop in. But it's totally worth the time and money to stop at this iconic cafe of Vienna. It's great!
google avatar

Stephen H.

Yelp
Listen, it's a place called Cafe Mozart in the Albertinaplatz. If you can't smell tourist trap you can't be helped! :-) But in all seriousness, if you're okay with paying for overpriced cake and coffee in a cake and coffee town, come here. Otherwise there are at least a dozen better options, 4 or 5 of which are within a 5 minute walk.
google avatar

Igor G.

Yelp
Overpriced tourist trap. Dry Sacher cake, impossible to swallow without any kind of drink, I couldn't even finish it. Coffee is mediocre and cold. Serving was good and fast though.
google avatar

Aditi M.

Yelp
I visited Cafe Mozart as it was close to the hotel we were staying at. After going there we realized it was more of a tourist trap. The apple strudel was average (crust was not as crispy as it should have been) and the chocolate drink was also ok. The vanilla ice cream tasted good. Prices were higher than most places in the area and they charge separately even for tap water. In the end the server specifically asked us to 'add tip as it was not included' which doesn't really happen in other restaurants in the area. Overall, wasn't a fan and won't be going back.
google avatar

Clara Y.

Yelp
This place is great for tourists. I'm giving it 5 stars solely from the perspective of a visiting American. The dessert selection here is absolutely lovely. The restaurant is stunning and the decor adds a dreamy feel to it. There wasn't a wait when we went which pleased me! I'd love to open a cafe like this in California.
google avatar

Angel S.

Yelp
Mozart's presence is definitely celebrated in Vienna, from concerts, museums, and statues dedicated to the famed composer. You'll even see Mozart chocolates in almost every corner. Cafe Mozart is a decent place for tourists. It's not great food, but it's decent enough to enjoy an outdoor meal while watching other tourists stroll by. Order the goulash and sausage platter here. I'd also recommend their hot chocolate.

Deborah M.

Yelp
The staff was friendly. The menu was substantial, covering a large variety of options. The food was very good. The location made it an easy choice.
