Cafe Münsterhof

We had a wonderful birthday celebration. The venison goulash was outstanding, nice beers and wines. The staff was very attentive. Kaia, our waitress, was delightful and helped us with the menu. We were a trilingual table and she took our order without any issues. We enjoyed the typical dishes and will be back.

Despite being a lunchtime and not having reserved a table, a lovely waitress found us a table for 2. Staff were very attentive and pleasant despite it being busy. Food was lovely and the portion size of the cake was definitely up my street 😋 Great experience. Loved it.

The food was very tasty and the place is super nice ! But I would have been perfect if the waiter wasn’t switching every time in english even though I tried to speak only in German. However, expect from this I absolutely recommend it!

Excellent food! I had the goulash and it was superb, with a lot of attention to details. It came with red cabbage, chestnuts and cranberries sauce, all excellent. You can also sit outside in front of the church, so beautiful. Highly recommended

The lunch menu is not the same as the menu stated outside. The menu outside only available starting 2pm onwards. The blueberry cake is very good but was a bit disappointed. Felt a bit cheated 😂 since I was expecting the menu outside during lunch as well but unfortunately not.

Food was good. Staff was awesome. Location was nice, but tables were a bit too narrow foe my taste.

Very tasty schweinschnitzel and flamkuchen. Restaurant located in front of cathedra. I already eate there couple of times. Once, I was in rush for a train and they agreed to prepare my meal faster 🙂

Perfect meals (heavy, starchy and salty) after a 3-day cycling trip: hausgemachten Spätzle, frische Pfifferlinge in Rahm auf Bandnudeln, and Flammkuchen with Pfifferlinge (see photo). With tables in front of the Münster, the location is unbeatable. Try their delicious Weisser Burgunder wine with the Spätzle. A good combination.

There are so many things to say about this establishment. First, its hours ensure that a tourist (ugh, I know) can dine in the afternoon after walking around the cathedral and main square. Next, the decor is pleasant and welcoming. Third, the service - outstanding! Fourth, and the best - the food!!!!!!!! Delicious and authentic German that satisfies the appetite and warms the soul. If you have an opportunity to dine here, please do -- it is simply a marvelous experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed Munsterhof! The service was awesome as well as the food! I could not ask for a better way to spend my time in Constance!

Excellent service. Pork loin was perfect and beer was excellent. Very friendly to an American tourist lack German speaking skills!!

We kind of loved this place. The stars are reflective of the price, value and location.. As well as the food. Our main dishes were 12-13 Euro's and the soup; 7 Sitting in Munsterplatz on a fine summer evening we enjoyed our table under the yellow umbrella. It's the perfect spot, scenic and well shaded from the glare of the evening sun. We ordered standard German fare and enjoyed above average versions of everything. I started with the Goulash soup which was terrific, thick with meat and vegetables, a touch of spice and full of flavor. The Goulash main dish was wonderful, tender meat served in a dark sauce with napkin dumplings. A very good portion at a reasonable price. I ordered the Schnitzel with Spaetzle. This was delicious, the Schnitzel was crispy on the outside, tender and served with a light gravy. Yum! The Spaetzle was light and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was friendly with a big easy going smile.

Excellent food and excellent local dark beer! The outdoor tables were constantly filled with people, so we ate inside. Great home cooking!
