"A Locals-Only Cafe in Zurich West Strictly locals convene at this shoebox-sized café with herringbone floors, a vintage sofa, and seven tiny tables steps from Josefstrasse’s funky boutiques. Coffee geeks will feel right at home—beans are roasted just two doors down, there’s a Dalla Corte espresso machine in the corner, and all sorts of intriguing paraphernalia are for sale (think Japanese siphons and mills). Still, the quirky non-caffeinated beverage selection shouldn’t be missed; there are Traktor smoothies, Thomas Henry sodas and mini bottles of Prosecco."

Was a nice place to spend a relaxing weekend morning. The coffee tasted great and service was fast.

A hip café serving good quality coffees. The staff are friendly and helpful. Really love its cozy atmosphere and interesting interior but I always end up staying outside since inside is quite snug.

The coffee is good, but why are there no croissants during the whole morning? Also for a coffee place you expect more than just to eat cake. The staff seems uninteressted to serve you, kinda Zurich vibes.

Google
Really cool place in an area that's not very busy. They have good breakfast options and good coffee options. The barista was very nice and spoke English, which like the flag here is a big plus. They have require 15cf minimum to use a card but that's not very hard to do in Switzerland.

The atmosphere is great in this little charming café. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The coffee is however, sour and not well made. The service is also rather slow even when there are barely any customers. Great to come to read a book and chill with a tea but I would stay away from their coffee.

Yelp
Very good coffee including soy cappuccino (unfortunately not an easy find in Switzerland), probably one of the best in Zurich, as so many point out. 5 stars also for the design - minimalist and understated hipsterish. One of my favorite areas in Zurich, varied and authentic. The only downside of Cafe Noir is that the staff are not the most welcoming towards non-regulars. It's happened to me more than once that I was waiting at the bar to order when regulars came in, coffees were made and chats were had while I was just being ignored. It's great that this is a true neighborhood joint but they could do with a bit more friendliness towards the ordinary customer.

Yelp
Great Locals Coffee Shop! Nice selection of pastries and lovely staff. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. I really enjoyed Noir - if you're anywhere close by when you're visiting Zurich, Kielce this place out.

Yelp
The coffee is delicious, their own roastery is just a few minutes down the road and the beans are on sale in the café. I definitely recommend you give those a try. The café itself is also very cute and cosy. I used to be a regular for many years, and get my post-lunch espresso here once or twice a week. Unfortunately, ever since a visit with two friends, I really don't feel like going back. Two of us ordered coffee, and we went to our table while the third person wanted to give it a minute to think about what to order. Right as our coffees arrived we were told that it's their policy that every guest has to order something. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand that proprietors don't want their space taken up by lounging non-customers. But this was not that. If we had overstayed our welcome, perfectly fine. But we had just arrived, and barely had time to order. If the place was packed, I'd also get it. But we were almost the only customers at the time, the café was practically empty. We were made to feel very unwelcome, downed our coffees and went looking for another place. I'm not saying that this alone makes me not want to give them another chance. But there are so many other cute, small, independent cafés in town, which make me feel like they actually appreciate having me as a customer, that I'd really rather go to one of those. Born and raised in Switzerland, it bugs me whenever I notice first-hand where our reputation for poor hospitality comes from. Still, go there to grab a pack of beans.

Yelp
If you were to open a café this is the type of café you would probably want to open. It feels almost like a living room - small and cozy. The staff of friendly, the food freshly made and the coffee is their own roast. The coffee menu is simple with a focus on the classic Italian variations and most importantly on the beans and roast. Forget pumpkin spice and toffee caramel latte - go for a simple espresso and taste good coffee again. If you're around Kreis 5, this is a café you will want to check out.

Yelp
Dropped by this little quaint coffee shop in Zuirch, Switzerland on my trip out here for work. I really like this place ... the smell of their coffee beans and the sound of the jazz music really sets the mood for a relaxing atmosphere. I absolutely love their coffee drinks - I will really miss this place when I go back to the U.S. .. wish they had a place like this when I go back in California. - I would come here every single day!

Yelp
One of the few places in Zürich that takes pride in its decaf. Picked up some beans, and the work quite well --- nice robust roast, not bitter, and doesn't taste like chemicals like some low-end decaf. We didn't manage to sample the same beans while we were there, however --- the decaf grinder wasn't working, and the staff wasn't ready to move the decaf hopper to another grinder. Oh well, guess we'll need hot chocolate instead... The tiny bathroom is papered in vintage newspapers. Definitely worth a peek after a few cups. This place feels like someone's house --- some with a fondness for small tables and freshly ground coffee.

Yelp
Cool that they roast their own beans and take pride in good old-fashioned java. A very small eclectic cafe specializing in a good pour with a couple of snacks and desserts and also selling high-quality espresso and coffee brewing equipment. There are only a couple of tables and it' very quiet. Perfect to read the newspaper, but not a place for loud conversations or business meetings. I could see it being cooler in summer when you could sit outside on the front porch. My kaffee creme was good.

Yelp
The most highly reviewed cafe in Zurich. Since no one would contest that this is the best coffee in the city is there a point to write another review? They can also do iced coffee, it still comes in a paper cup and is delicious. The small biscotti that comes free with the coffee is worth a pass in my opinion but all their other baked goods are great. I like the brötli filled with chocolate covered raisins and the walnut bread.

Yelp
All the kit available to buy so you would expect a certain quality to be a given but not the case unfortunately. Very poor effort at a flat white and very little food options.

Yelp
One of the best coffee spots in Zurich. Good music and a nice atmosphere. Not quite as scene-y as some other cafés in kreis 5. They also have a good selection of beans and other accessories that helped me to avoid Globus' exorbitant prices for good beans. Get the chestnut/chocolate chip cake if it's fresh.

Yelp
Zurich has some amazing coffee spots, and I was so lucky to be able to find some of the best this past weekend. I think my favourite though was Cafe Noir. I loved everything about this place. This is a tiny spot, and definitely on a Saturday morning I had to wait for a seat. The staff are incredibly friendly and you truly feel like you are enjoying a cup of coffee at your friend's house. This place I hear actually was once the owners flat which they converted into a coffee spot. If you are getting an espresso, there are several different coffee blends that you can choose from. They don't only have the house roast. I thought that was very cool. I had a cappuccino with the house roast and some of their Bircher Müsli. They asked if I would like a few slices of bread with my Musli, for no extra cost. I also took one of their special espresso dark chocolates. The Bircher Musli was amazing. It is one of the best Musli's I have tasted in Switzerland. The coffee was not only beautiful to look at, it was VERY good. The chocolate was also amazing. I asked for a caffeine kick to get me started, and I definitely walked out of their with a fully charged battery. This place also has seemed to have some great local brews and sodas in their menu. They definitely had a strong focus on local products. I wish I could have taken this place home with me. Fantastic place!

Yelp
One of my favorite cafes in Zurich. Its small, but a super nice place to hang out. I like their organic coffee beans better than most anything else available in the city.

Yelp
Cute, quiet, amazing coffee! Love the seating area outside (although the sun never shines on it whenever I'm there...does it ever?)

Yelp
Extremely small cafe that makes great coffee because they roast their own beans... but. my croissant was at least a day old :( wahhhh Will be back to give it another try or perhaps just stick to coffee when it comes to this place.

Yelp
I've been going here for years, both for a cup of coffee or to buy beans. I'm especially happy that they started serving cortados (1:1 espresso and warm milk), and they even have a decent decaf! But they've renovated, and I don't like the new decor as much as the old. They seem to be trying to look modern or something - they've got too many mirrors that make me want to hide somehow. The old "cast-off furniture from your Grandma's living room" look was better for relaxing!
