Delicious prime rib! I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach so I tried to devour as much as I could. I think the mashed potatoes made it a little heavy but the flavor was top notch!! Came in around 7:30 and was greeted by such lovely folks! Had the Maui Wowie cocktail and our waiter Alex was 10/10! Heads up the restaurant is upstairs but the signage was great and we didn’t have trouble finding it

The food was delicious, especially the baked onion soup. The special opakapaka with mashed potatoes topped with two shrimp was also well prepared and much enjoyed. We appreciate the ample parking and how well the restaurant accommodated our party of 12. We had considered another popular restaurant because they had tomahawks but are glad for the local flavors available at the Cafe O’Lei Kihei. Very noisy inside the restaurant but generally able to carry on a conversation.

We dined here late on a Tuesday. We made reservations but wasn't super necessary. I had the flatbread mushroom pizza and the onion soup. It was really really good. The mushroom pizza was like steakhouse mushrooms on it which made it delightful with a good unique flavor. The onion soup was done well and quite good. As far as the prime rib. We are from Nebraska. We know steak. It's hard to get good steak on an island for all sorts of reasons but the prime rib here was really really good. The mashed potatoes and grilled tomato were great touches. For dessert my wife had the coffee creme brulee which she said was great and I had the fried banana cheesecake which was a delightful twist on cheesecake. Every cheesecake should be fried banana. Service was pretty good, excellent food suggestions, but staff was pretty busy as others have said. Still good service just dealing with a lot of tables.

Great food, and good atmosphere. Flatbread Pizza had insanely good crust. Sadly staffing is an issue everywhere and these guys could use double the staff that was there. Not the employees fault or the restaurants fault. Please be kind to your servers and bartenders. Please tip 20-22% minimum. It makes me so sad to see people tip absolutely nothing. If you have enough money to vacation on Maui, you have enough to tip.

We used to love this restaurant and came here every time we are on the island. However, tonight was super disappointing. We ordered the lettuce wrap, we were shocked to see how the plate was presented. I mean, as a chef in a restaurant and you think it’s ok to place lettuce like that to serve, then it’s totally not ok at all. The lettuce is rotten, and doesn’t look like it was well washed. We also ordered the macadamia nut crushed mahi mahi. It came out with panko and may be a few little pieces of nut. And there was barely any sauce on the plate, so we asked for some extra otherwise no taste to the fish. Our waiter came back to us said the chef answer was we had to pay extra for the sauce. He apologized that he agreed with us that there was not enough sauce, and chef’s response wasn’t reasonable but nothing he can do. Oh well, when we first started coming here, there was proper napkins, warm bread with butter after seated, and complimentary salad comes with entree. Now, prices are double without any of that. We won’t come back again for sure.

Just go! We were looking for a place without reservations and thanks to Google found Cafe O’Lei Kihei. The prime rib was amazing and the French onion soup was amazing. My wife had the shrimp linguini and said it was delicious too!

We had the eggplant napoleon and the fish special for the day which was a seared snapper with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies and a special pumpkin and fruit sauce. I do recommend this special as the sauce paired very well with the fish and veggies. Great restaurant for a date in Kihei

This place is busy! Our table service felt rushed. The lady who took our orders did not have the patience to hear us out completely before walking away. And our coke refill never returned. The highly recommended blackened mahi mahi fish has a tough texture, tastes like overcooked chicken breast. The sauce lacked Flavor too. The macadamia pork tasted very nice, excerpt that one of the three pork pieces was tough to cut and swallow. On the other hand, the mud pie was nice to eat. The service and quality of the dishes could use improvement.
