It has that classic European café charm that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment, something that’s easy to appreciate in Montréal. Overall, I’d highly recommend Café Olimpico to anyone looking for quality coffee, good food, and a genuine local experience. It’s absolutely worth the visit, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the city.

Lovely baristas and family feel. Shows live sports and the coffee is great too, really nice. A few tables to choose from so when it’s busy there isn’t room to sit. Also had a pistachio doughnut and amaretto biscuit which was yummy! Would recommend a visit for a local feel & great Italian coffee, good atmosphere!

Café Olimpico is widely recommended as one of Montreal’s classic Italian coffee spots, and we stopped by this Vieux-Montréal location for a short coffee break earlier in the spring. It absolutely lived up to its reputation. I loved the vibe and ambience of the café—lively yet relaxed, with the Italian café energy that makes you want to linger a little longer.We had Macchiato and Cortado, they were very good. And the tiramisu was delicious, rich without being overly heavy. The cafe is quite small tho, with limited seating, and it connected to a clothing shop and to a hotel, the lineup was huge but moving fast. Moments like this really remind you that Quebec is a hidden gem for coffee lovers, with so many great cafés worth discovering. ☕️🇮🇹

My friend and I visited this place three times during a recent trip to Montreal, so it’s safe to say we were obsessed. We could not get enough of their caffe crema. Also enjoyed their remix and hot chocolate. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfectly cozy.

This little coffee shop means business . It is not by accident there is a line over the weekends . Get here early . Croissants are delicious . Pistachio filled is melt in your mouth good . Cookies offered include some Gluten free amaretto cookies which I picked up four for after dinner snacks and they are fantastic . It’s great to see coffee shops adding GF items . Coffee both days I went here was extra good . Cappuccino and Americano are well prepared . A gem in old town

Olimpico Café has become a regular stop for us every time we visit Montreal — and for good reason. The interior decor perfectly matches the charm and character of Old Montreal, creating a warm and stylish atmosphere that invites you to linger. There’s usually a long line, which speaks to the café’s popularity, but it moves quickly thanks to the staff, who are both friendly and impressively efficient. The service is consistently smooth, and the coffee is worth the wait — rich, bold, and expertly made. We’ve been back a few times and always enjoy our visit. It’s a nice spot to grab a coffee and soak in a bit of the Old Montreal vibe. If you have a chance, make sure to grab one of the open window seats in the summer to soak in the atmosphere!

A cozy café in the heart of Old Montreal with great music and a wonderful atmosphere. I love coming here for the hot chocolate and the amaretti cookies, which are always fresh and delicious. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and makes you feel right at home. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a sweet treat. Highly recommended.

Fantastic! It's hard to find a cup of coffee that blows you away like this. Milk is steamed to perfection, perfectly silky. The espresso is potent and smooth, combining perfectly with milk to make a delicious, almost chocolatey treat. I also tried their baked goods, which were not too sweet. Everything is priced very reasonably for the quality. This place is a real coffee shop. I don't think you need to bother with any other coffee places around! Service was absolutely no frills.

I followed the TikTok hype and decided to check it out while visiting Montreal. Im so happy I fell for the hype! It was snowing all morning and we powered through and made it. It's located near the old port so it's a very good location. It's not that big so seating is limited. We had the latte and the taste wasnt bad, but not what I was expecting. I wish I would have looked at the menu beforehand because I saw customers with some delicious looking coffee. We also tried the mortadella sandwich and omg this was so good. The pistachio cream in between the mortadella was simply delicious. The staff were friendly and the cafe shop was easy to find. A must try in Montreal. I would definitely come back if I visit again!

There is something special about getting a delicious coffee while on vacation, and Cafe Olimpico was a great spot to fuel a Saturday adventure in Montreal. This cafe has a couple of locations, and this one is in the old Montreal area. We popped in and I opted for a cappuccino. Because one must always be fueled by caffeine and carbs, we also got a savory and sweet treat to share. I ordered a cornetti - I had never tried this before, but it looked like a croissant so I of course was intrigued. Before writing this review I found out that a cornetti is the italian version of a croissant, and differs from it's french counterpart because it is sweeter and the dough is a bit different. I love French Croissants, and I now love Italian ones too - it was great. The one we got was stuffed with Nutella, so a perfect sweet bite to go with the coffee. We also ordered a mortadella sandwich. This was served on focaccia with ricotta, a pistachio cream, a it of honey and ricotta. Wow. Every time I eat mortadella I think to myself, I should eat more mortadella, and this time was no different. You can see why Cafe Olimpico is a popular cafe, the coffee is good and the treats are delightful. There was a long line but that is expected on a chilly weekend morning, and it moved quickly.

Great coffee! Nice location! The cafe freddo here is very smooth and bitter sweet. It's the perfect size for sipping if you just want a little bit to taste test. The sweets here, however, are not that good. The tiramisu is way too sweet.

I was shocked how hard it was to find a coffee shop other than Dunkin open at 6am. Thankfully I came across this place that I had walked by the night prior. Short line, single person staffing shop, but he was on it. Clearly this was a place where locals come as he had orders being made as he saw people coming up and was talking to a few of them. Very friendly and very efficient. A couple good pastry options. My espresso came out pretty quick and was perfect. Temperature wasn't blistering hot, it was smooth, and just perfect to start my day. If you are an early riser, or just like coffee I would definitely check this place out.

This place is VERY popular and for a reason. Good coffee and very nice service. We came on a Saturday afternoon (5pm) and it was PACKED! We were a group of 10 people so sitting was challenging but we figured it out between 2 tables. It's loud here so keep that in mind and it's not really a "chill" kinda vibe it's more like to go and really walk around but it was fine

The perfect coffee shop and pastry experience! I had the cafe latte hot which was simplistic but smooth, creamy, and perfect amount of coffee flavor. I also had the affogato which I would not skip out on - i had it with the pistachio ice cream and it was such a delicious treat but you could also get it with vanilla or chocolate. Service was fast despite the busy long line and very friendly in assisting with orders. The ambiance is modern casual with a sporty Olympic theme, very limited seating, would recommend grabbing and go!

The cheeky boys behind the counter made my morning! Ricky especially! So cute and sweet. I got a mocha and man was it good. The small intimate cafe was nice and made it easy to talk to everyone. I am only in town for a few days and I will def be coming back!!

When I first walked in there was a line to order but it moved very fast. At coffee shops I usually get a vanilla latte with almond milk, so when the worker informed me that they only carry regular milk and oat milk, no flavors, and no syrups, I wasn't quite sure what to order. The only option left (per my preferences) was an oat milk latte so that's what I ordered. However, I'm SO glad that I was basically forced to choose this, because I think it was the best latte I've ever had in my life. I was so tempted to go back for a second cup and looking back now, I wish I had!! The flavor of the coffee itself was unlike any other coffee I've tried and the drink - while simple - was delicious. 10/10

I would give the coffee a 4.5 if I could. I would definitely recommend getting the remix if you like your coffee in the sweeter and creamier side. The inside is really cute and it's like an old coffee shop vibe. The people were also really nice and were happy to help with anything I asked.

Cute little cafe place. Great place to have a little date or even do some work. For anyone coming here, I would highly recommend their Tiramisu. It's a great late night dessert

Quick service and good hot drinks, but too crowded to get a seat when we visited at 4pm. Plan to get order and eat outside. Portion size is disappointing for the price. Would rather pay more for larger size, but not available.

This cute cozy café is located in the heart of old port and is a perfect spot to grab desserts/small sandwiches to go or sit down and enjoy your coffee, dessert or breakfast sandwich. They open at 6am, so perfectly suitable for early birds. The staff are very nice and friendly; they made special cold drinks for us and recommended best options to eat. We tried their Tiramisu, Nutella-Cookie and Pistachio Bombolini. My favorite was Nutella-Cookie; I will always come back to try more.

Located next to Hotel William Gray, this quaint coffee shop has a cozy, romantic ambiance. The opened windows to the cobblestone streets invites you in to enjoy the moment. However, the cappuccino was on the small size and unfortunately they did not have a toaster to warm up the chocolate croissant.

The BEST place to get coffee in Montreal!! We stumbled across this place on our last day here and I wish I had discovered it earlier to go more often! Don't be intimated by the line. It moves quickly. When I got in line, it was backed up into the clothing store and I waited about 10 minutes. We got the cortado, cafe latte, the cafe crema, and 2 tiramisus to go. Everything was so freaking good! I demolished that cafe crema, it was so addicting. The coffees were made so well. Strong coffee flavor but well balanced with the milk. The tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had. It was fantastic. I also got some whole coffee beans to take home. They smell so good. I can't wait to take it home to try them!!! Don't be intimated by the line and try them!

If we didn't stop a local to find this place, we would have missed this absolute diamond in the rough! I know traveling adds that certain charm, but this was magical beyond words. Seated in the oldest part of Montreal, this building carry so much history. It's absolutely charming! What makes it even better is the absolutely positively hands-down best coffee! The service is wonderful, but you do have to wait a little because everything is handcrafted and freshly brewed, and art fully made. You can even bring home some coffee for your coffee machine, Nespresso machine or K cup machine... Which I highly recommend !

Super small and quaint cafe with a lot of personality. From the cobblestone walls to the brown and green interior. There are endless of pastry, drinks, and gelato options. I do wish the drinks were bigger sizes. What we ordered: - Frodo: The best of both worlds. - Caffe latte: Super strong. - Tiramisu: So so good. Would recommend - Canoli: Very good but small. Note: There will be a line but you'll receive your drinks fast.

We loved this little coffee and dessert shop. The coffee tastes amazing and the affogato I got was icing on the cake. I really appreciated the way the servers behind the counter treated us as if they knew us for years and gave us the best service. They were personable, attentive, quick, seemed to enjoy their work, and made the experience that much better. The tiramisu was delicious but I really did enjoy my affogato with pistachio gelato and an empty shell cannoli on top. I could've spent the whole day here. It's cozy and the coffee really does have a well rounded full bodied flavor. Love, love, love.

We came to this spot for the affogato and really loved it. It's Nutella, vanilla, or pistachio ice cream, served with an espresso poured over, and a piece of cannoli cookie on top. While in line the cannoli also caught our eye and I can't recommend it enough. It's creamy and delicious and small enough to be the perfect little bite. I loved it so much I went back in line to get another

Café Olympico in Vieux-Montréal has some of the best coffee! I got a double espresso. Skipped the pastries because, you know, diet life. Perfect for grabbing a coffee and strolling the old town. Highly recommend!

Cute ambience. Great friendly quick service. Tiramisu is one of the best we have had and in fact our son wanted it again the next night.

Not that they need my 5 stars but the staff and service at the Old Montreal location is just the best. Quick, professional and accommodating to requests. The frozen Crema is like crack in the best possible way. Simply the best espresso on the planet.

Next to the Hotel William Gray -you can find this very small Italian coffee shop with extremely nice barista and workers. The cafe drinks are made fresh to order and can be highly customized. The pastries were well presented -we got the lemon loaf and Bomboloni and then a ham sandwich. The lemon loaf was okay and comparable to Starbucks lemon loaf. The Bomboloni was filled with pistachio and was tasty. The ham sandwich was on a light crusty focaccia brew with a mustard pistachio spread --delicious. We would have given it 5 stars except that the lines are so long --like really long -that's you can't really sit in the cafe and enjoy the wonderful food experience. Great place still to go!

Cafe Olympico was one of the best cafes I have ever been to. The service was phenomenal and the coffee could not have been better. The mocha was perfectly balanced with bitter coffee and rich chocolate without being sweet. The egg sandwich was served cold which I thought would be odd, but it was delicious! The cafe was adorable with plenty of seating.

Yummy espresso and pastries!!! Service was great. Only downside was limited seating. That said, we went back multiple times for espresso!

I stopped by here on my way to Place Jacques-Cartier. I ordered cappuccino, bomboloni and heavenly biscotti. I personally liked their sweets better.

One of the best coffee shops I've ever been to! We were recommended to check out Cafe Olimpico and we were so glad we did. Very small shop (probably max 10 seats), with not much room to line up in either. Very succinct menu with such friendly baristas who are happy to answer any questions and provide and suggestions. The cannolis were freshly piped right in front of us and the other baked goods and sandwiches were all delicious. We are so glad we stopped by!!

Eh, it was okay. Italian style coffee and pastries. No drip/filter coffee, only americanos. The cafe glacé & latte glacé were literal baby sized. I had to stop at another coffee shop 10 minutes later (shout out to Paquebot!).

I like that the ice was crushed instead of cubed in the freddo, it was almost like a slushy but in the best way possible. I've only had a freddo with honey to sweeten, which they didn't have, but the natural sweetness from the milk was delicious. I can't remember which non-dairy milk they offer, but I opted for non-dairy milk. The Crema Caffe was amazing, it was smooth and very flavourful!! It is a great mid-day treat and pick-me-up at the same time! The line is generally pretty long, the wait was ~15mns. The space is connected to a small shop and hotel, there's space to sit and relax in the hotel portion. And to mention, there are public bathrooms for use too!

This cute spot we got to check out when my friend and I visited Montreal. The gentleman at the front taking the orders was super nice and helping. He recommended the sandwiches to try and gave me a cute postcard souvenir along with a cookie with my order. Food was really good, along with the coffee. I heard there is going to be pop up in Toronto, and I can't wait to check this place again! Enjoyed my time there. Just know there isn't much seating available and is a small cafe, can be possible you may not find a seat right away.

Highly recommended! I came across this place close to Hotel William Gray, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! We ended up coming here a few times during our trip. This location is in Old Montreal, and I love how they have long opening hours (6 am to midnight). The cafe gets a lot of tourists, so English is pretty common when ordering. It's a small place with limited seating, so most orders are to go. The cappuccino was one of the best I ever had and highly recommend their baked pastries as well! The Nutella cannoli is so fresh. Glad this wasn't just a tourist trap and I can see why they're so popular. Amazing goods and service!

All we got here was the affogato, but it was incredible. Both the espresso and gelato were phenomenal. I'm sure all their beverages are excellent, just a little pricey.

A friend suggested stopping by for a really exceptional latte. Great tip! This hidden gem wasn't easy to find, but really worth the effort. The warm cozy vibe was so inviting. No wonder it's such a popular spot! Next time, we'll need to come hungry. There were some really tempting treats available, too. Too bad we'd just eaten a huge meal!

The go to café in Montréal. I myself am not a coffee drinker. Although I love the flavor, it has always been something I stayed away from, but the smell even walking by was so inviting I decided on my own macchiato. One of the best coffees I have ever, hands down. Let's just say it was so good that we hit every other location in Montréal in our journey to explore. You won't be disappointed!

This coffee shop was so lovely and beautifully decorated with bougainvillea flowers draped on the outside wall. Service was quick and the cafe latte I ordered tasted so good! It was one of the best lattes I have had! I do wish they had some tables to sit at outside.

Literally the best tiramisu I've ever had in my life - it's worth the hype! Really small and cute place.

I wondered if the line would be worth the wait at this cute cafe in Old Montreal, and I'm incredibly glad I waited it out. At 10:30 on a Saturday morning, the line was about ten people deep. I was surprised at how quickly it moved (quicker than at a Starbucks, imo). The staff was serving quickly and it took only about ten minutes for me to reach the front of the line. The team working was incredibly friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs. It was great service! I ordered a vanilla affogato and cannoli. The affogato is made with gelato imported from Italy, and it complimented the espresso perfectly. The cannoli was also good, but the affogato stole the show. One of the staff members was kind enough to "reserve" a spot for me by serving my food at the table as I was paying. The cafe is small with only seven tables to eat, but people did not seem to be lingering, so the tables opened up quickly. The one caveat to the quality of the experience (and the only reason I deducted a star) is the size of the restaurant. My table was right beside the line of patrons and they were turning to watch a TV on the wall. It was an uncomfortable proximity to me and my food. All I could imagine was their breathing on my food. I know the restaurant can't do much about this, but it did weigh on an otherwise perfect experience.

I am not religious, but if there is a heaven, there will be cafes and bakeries galore on every street to sit, converse, read, people watch... all the great things in life. And perhaps, on one of these streets, there would be a Cafe Olimpico. Foremost, when a small cafe imports cakes from abroad, you know they are serious. And my goodness gracious, the almond cake and tiramisu, both imported from Italy, are divine intervention itself. The lattes and coffees are also exceptional, and this is coming from someone who often feels that coffee is overrated. I also loved the indoor seating options, which, though limited, offered a relaxing setting inclusive of window views of a quaint alley (particularly atmospheric on rainy and/or snowy days). I always claim that you know a place is truly good when you want to come back the next day, and at Cafe Olimpico, I did just that, and if I lived in Montreal, would come again and again.

9.2/10 There's no better start than a cup of Cappuccino and croissant in the morning. A business of five generations of coffee blend from Columbia. They don't heat up their croissants.
