Where to Drink + Dance in Stockholm, Sweden

Nice place to have a drink, but i don’t know if it worth the hype. Maybe it’s just basically not for me go clubbing or something, but it was a bit sad being there, so just finished my drink, spent there less than 30min. Can’t say nothing bad just maybe a bit pricy, too much men i thought. Glad that i was there with my girlfriend hehe 🤣

Genuinely, I have not had a worse night in Sweden. I am a student here in Stockholm and have gone to nearly every nightclub here. The bouncers are extremely race-oriented and often tend to simply kick people out due to their ethnicity. My asian friend got kicked out on a separate night, and unfortunately tonight it was me (I had a total of 2 drinks). I have never been felt more humiliated by an establishment than I have tonight. I hated it. I truly hope they learn some manners and improve their behaviour towards their guests.

Google
Awful experience. Stockholm is great besides this place, who will just kick guys out for no reason. I was traveling with friends when I got kicked out for “being too drunk” when I only had one drink. Bouncers wont talk too you once you’re off the property and it makes it pretty embarassing because everyone thinks you’ve done something to get kicked out when that is far from accurate. Horrible service

Google
The worst place in Sweden. The bouncers are highly racist and often tend to kick out POCs. My friend got kicked out on a separate night, I myself got kicked out tonight (after only having a total of 2 drinks). Honestly not worth any of the hype. Genuinely the worst experience I have had in not only Sweden but my whole life.

NEVER ENTER THIS CLUB!!!!! My friend and I got removed for no reason whatsoever tonight, we have had a total of 2 drinks. They are heavily racist against POCs and honestly Sweden is the last place you would expect this. I honestly hope this entire club gets shut down simply because of the way they treat their customers.

This place is an absolute scam!!! The bouncer came to me and said i am to drunk. I had 0 drinks. But he (david) had to get somebody to leave the place. This is a crazy scam. Insane. The video is showing another guy that did not do anything but the bouncers used force against him.

Beautiful building and good music, but not the best crowd. The business doesn't seem to look after safety, women in particular. Too many weird ppl offering drinks, especially from tables. If you want to visit this place, go as groups & look after your friends.

The bouncer kicked us out for no reason, told us we were to drunk but we werent. We were not allowed to grab our jacket and had to stand in the cold night and wait 10 minutes to get them back.

Yelp
This place is very popping and plays awesome eclectic mix of hip-hop, house, and other various catchy mainstream dance music at night. It's relatively easy to get in but even girls have to pay the steep cover charge of 220 SEK ($33)!! Buuuuuuuu!!! Minus 1 star!! What makes this place unique is the beautiful opulent decor. Housed in magnificent historical interior spaces in the Opera House, dancing under the gorgeous chandeliers was priceless! It's a one of a kind place so I suggest to splurge it and dance away the night!!

Yelp
It's a really big club with an nice outdoor lounge were you can dance, mingle and drink! The they have three dancefloors which makes this to a pretty big club, although they don't always have all of them open! The music is good and club is aimed to a older clientele then I'am but I usually enjoy it here!

Yelp
We decided to go to Café Opera as it is one of the few venues in Stockholm open past 1am on a weekday. The building itself is magnificent and the bar/dance floor had a truly classic opulent style with majestic crystal chandeliers, however unfortunately the architecture was where the enjoyment ended. We were made to queue for a long time, then paid an exceptional fee to skip the queue to find the venue was less than half full. Other than the ridiculous charade of paying top dollar (or kronor) to gain entrance, they also have a mandatory fee for hanging your jacket in the wardrobe and the bar prices were amongst the highest I have ever experienced. The half-filled venue pumped out torturous decibels of noise making it all but impossible to communicate with anyone and my ears are still ringing. Adding insult to an evening that might have been salvageable from the thousands of kronor of over-priced beverages we purchased, one of the security staff insulted and assaulted one of our group proclaiming that in his opinion he had enough to drink and then decided to violently eject him from the premises without cause. In my opinion a polite and correct response would be to ask if he was alright, offer a glass of water and possibly a suggestion not to not drink any more rather than treating a paying customer like a common criminal. It was past two in the evening and to be honest I think we were the last paying guests so I am assuming the staff wanted to go home. This put an end to an otherwise dreadful evening. In my opinion, this venue seemed to be pitched towards the young and affluent clubbing crowd. If you are over 25 or your daddy is not rich I would recommend to completely avoid this place - Stockholm has some much better to offer.

Yelp
My favourite nightclub venue in Stockholm. Great music and fun crowd. Wanna have a good night out in Stockholm? Then i recommend a visit. Altough the guards can be kind of harsh, café opera is a nightclub to be reckond with. I guarantee a night of fun. This legendary nightclub has been out and about for such a long time that My parents actually met there 30 years ago. On fridays they also serve a trip down memory lane for those who visited in their earlier days- something called soul train. Recommended days: wednesdays, fridays, saturdays and some sundays, check their website out for guestlist!

Yelp
One of the most classic venues in Stockholm offering a nightclub in a historical atmosphere. You will most probably not have a bad night here, but of course the crowd can vary depending on day and occasion. Lately they have implied a stricter face control in door trying to snap it up. Also inside they offer a more Vegas like atmosphere with dancers and light shows when bottles are ordered to tables. I guess its a good effort but i dont know if i swallow the whole thing so far. Pricing is steepish/normal by Stockholms measures and will not do further damage than you allow it to. Coat check can be a bummer with a crazy line during winter, so be smart or bring patience. Its a great place overall, but time will tell how it all ends and i hope they dont get high on horses.

Yelp
I have been traveling and parting worldwide and this is the first place that did not seem to be warm to foreigners. I was told it was a private party but then I talked to some of the girls coming in and out and they said it was open to the public. I encourage any American to find some locals or just do not go.

Yelp
Worse service ever! Imagine paying $365 and being kicked out! That happened to me. I wanted bottle service to celebrate a video shoot wrap and goodbye party. So let's order a bottle of Belvedere with Red Bull's only to get a tray with 12 glasses filled a substance. They never showed us the damn bottle. Where's the prestige in that? Then they kick me out for putting my foot on the table? Rude bouncers. Disgusting attitude of "hey you think you're better than us?" I'm a paying customer you idiot. The manager was even more obnoxious and incompetent. NEVER AGAIN AND WILL DISPUTE THE CHARGE. They want money but absolutely don't want to give service. God bless America where customer is still king.

Yelp
In our journey to Stockholm, we went twice to Cafe Opera and I guess the final rate would be 3.5 but I guess I am a nice guy so take your 4 stars; let me explain. To start with, several of my friends back home kind of build very high expectations about this place as far as being the best club in the city, best music, and hottest crowd; so you can imagine that I wanted to love that place. Sat: Arrived around 1130/midnight, the place wasn't too crowed yet which was nice to enjoy the decor (beautiful big room with french chandelier, etc...). However we couldn't buy a bottle because we didn't have a table or they didn't want to let us drink it at the bar!!!!! First time in my life, a nightlife establishment refuses my $$$. Anyway, few grey goose red bull down the road, the place (which is only one main room, a covered patio and a small vip room) was crowed. Indeed it was maybe the most beautiful crowd ever. It feels like every man and women were coming out of a victoria secret or calvin klein fashion show. Music was also good. However I felt it was lacking some major ambiance and energy. I guess the main room is shaped weirdly which doesn't allow a lot of dancing space. The tables are set and organized almost like at a restaurants which makes it almost hard for those people to dance. Plus, saying that Sweden is expensive is a true statement but Cafe Opera will top those prices a bit just to be sure you remember that lol Not sure if it was this night only, but we also felt there were a lot of big groups together, which as tourists, make it harder to break the ice or meet the locals. SO i guess was a bit of love/hate for me at first. Sun: Since nothing was really popping on this night in Stockholm, we decided to head back on Sundays around 11. Place was dead and the main floor closed. However the free entrance that night helped us to at least to have a drink in the patio. In 1hr or so, it went from dead to pretty crowed with the same attractive crowd and 90% of locals only. DJ's that night was a lady and was awesome music!!!!! I guess this was the place to be on a Sunday night in the city! Long story short, if you have one night in Stockholm, this may not be the best place to go however if you have at least 2 nights, I would at least go check it out. If you like it then you will stay and enjoy the nigh; else be prepared to bounce if you don't feel the ambiance like us on the first night. This is coming from a fairly expert person of the night so don't get me wrong, this is a very very solid club option.

Yelp
Hmm. Often mentioned as one of Stockholm's poshest nightclubs, with the most beautiful, well dressed people, its reputation stands before it. But I wouldn't call anything about it posh except the prices. It certainly doesn't qualify under classy either unless you like overcrowded rooms with the floors littered with who knows what sticking to your shoes, constant streams of people pushing past you to go "somewhere else", or DJs remixing the bejeezus out of 7 songs at once/automatic fire-extinguishers going off at 100db. The " bar" area is for all purposes a tent, with a VIP section for those that rule the tent bars of the world (we spotted a Dr. Dre and Pitbull look-a-like, but they must have blown their cash on new "aviators" because the limousines at the end of the night weren't letting them in), and while the dance floor may have beautiful hanging Chandelier's it still somehow felt like a dirty basement to me. This place actually reminds me more of Lady Patricia than a Stureplan nightclub. OK but I give it a decent rating because of these things, not in spite of them. This place is a shit show. All kinds of people are in here. Sure lots of beautiful ones but no different than any other Stureplan club and it seemed to me, worse dressed (and why would you go all out to be in a sea of people), so remove the whole posh label from your mind and just think overpriced. Then dance in the sea with your friends or try and make new ones if your vocal chords hold out from screaming in each others ear all night. That old adage, "if you're more intelligent than you are pretty, don't hangout in clubs" will be in full effect here. In case you haven't gotten it yet, this place isn't for showing off your maturity or your age really. But any age will work if you just want to throw around oodles of money and be showered by fireworks when you order bottle service. Strongly trending towards 2 stars because of the ridiculous prices but should be a 3 star night at least. That being said, I'll go elsewhere next weekend and have zero interest in returning!

Yelp
Nice place during the weekends nights if you get there earlier but not worth paying the entrance fee after 1 because it get so crowded and the crowd is very young.

Yelp
Down the drain, but that's probably because I'm too old and have too many memories of the "old" Cafe Opera....., well shit happens!
