We ordered takeout, including figs and mascarpone ($14) and truffle mushroom toast($16). For these prices, the portions and ingredients were extremely minimal - literally just a couple of components in each dish, which feels completely unjustified.
The place was almost empty (only one table occupied) and there were two staff members working, yet we still had to wait at least 15 minutes for a simple takeout order.
What was more concerning was the lack of attention to basic food-handling standards. Seeing a kitchen staff member without gloves, wearing an earbud, and without any hair covering didn’t inspire much confidence.
As for the food itself, it was extremely basic - you name it. The “truffle mushroom toast” was nothing more than slightly burnt bread soaked in oil with some mushrooms therein. And some slice of cheddar with scattered pieces of jalapeño I guess. That’s it. No balance, no flavor, no effort.
Overall, extremely overpriced, poorly executed, and very disappointing.
