I was definitely expecting a great breakfast based on their reviews, but I left disappointed. The Croissant French Toast was a huge disappointment, it was extremely flat and flavor without syrup was decent at best. The included fruit cup looked great, but the pineapple was basically the core it was so hard. The only plus for this place was the two egg omelette off the kids menu, which my son really enjoyed. Service was decent and staff were friendly. Overall if you’re looking for coffee give them a chance but pass on the food.

Google
So this place was a home run. I don’t know about everything else, but for omelettes this place is a home run We arrived around 8:30 AM on a hot summer morning, to which we were promptly seated. Service was excellent, and the plus to the omelettes, the eggs used are Vital Farms. These are some of the best eggs you can buy for not only quality, but also taste really great. If you’re looking for a made your way omelettes place, then this is for you.

Google
Food was OK. The menu was very misleading. The vegan options were basically a plate full of rice and beans with everything else that is not Vegan removed from it even though it said it had cheese and other ingredients that could be vegan if they had vegan imitation cheese and so on. When we brought that piece of information to the waitress attention, she just said OK. Some of the food was good like the vegan chickpea pancake. The waffle, grilled cheese was so plain and unflavored. And the turkey sandwich had massive chunks of turkey that were not very pleasant to eat.

Google
Bright, welcoming café with a creative brunch menu that satisfies vegetarians, vegans and classic breakfast lovers alike. The self-serve coffee is a bonus, and the vibe is lively and fun. I have the make your own omelet and it was good. Pricing leans upscale for a brunch spot, but the fresh ingredients and imaginative dishes make it worth a visit

Google
Great breakfast spot downtown Indy! Had the avocado toast with an egg, the seasonal pumpkin bread, and a hot matcha. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
A rare unicorn. In my experience, it seems like breakfast spots either have good food or good coffee, but seldom both. Cafe Patachou has amazing food and coffee. I had an omelet and my wife had a cuban bowl. Both were wonderful. Make sure you get some cinnamon toast to go. You won't regret it!

Mike K.

Google
Overall: delicious food, original dishes Quality: my food was fresh and hot Atmosphere: great casual vibe, self-serve coffee Suggested improvements: 1) I ordered the croissant French toast and, while it was flavorful, the portion size for $16 is quite small… 1 square piece of French toast. It should be two pieces. 2) bathroom hygiene; add paper towels to enable customers to both dry hands and open doors safely.

Google
Delicious and fulfilling breakfast. If it were near the hotel where I stayed, I probably would have eaten there every day. The food was exceptional. We ordered egg whites, smoked salmon, and fruits. I love that they add Arugula as part of the dish. Everything was fresh. Service was great.

Yelp
Had visited Cafe Patachou for lunch on our trip to Indiana. We ordered a soup and salad combination and a cuban breakfast. I had picked the chopped Cobb for the combo. The salad topped with blue cheese was super fresh and I really loved the dish. The mazzo ball soup was warm and delicious. We paired the meal with lavender lemonade which was refreshing. Our server was super friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the outdoor seating arrangement. Overall a very good experience.

Yelp
The Vegan Crepe (which is actually a savory chickpea-based crepe, not a sweet one) was fantastic! The crepe itself was tender and flavorful--definitely not your average boring vegan egg substitute. It was stuffed with tasty ingredients like black beans, vegan cheese, arugula, and avocado. The jalapeño pesto and salsa served alongside it added a great, fresh kick without being overly spicy. It was filling, wholesome, and felt like a truly thoughtful dish, not just an afterthought. The service was prompt and friendly, and the location across from the State Capitol is very convenient. If you're looking for a delicious and healthy place start to your day in Indy, this is a great spot.

Yelp
We were in town for a weekend getaway and some friends recommended we try Cafe Patachou for breakfast. I'm not sure how crowded the place usually is, but we happened to go when the marathon was taking place and the restaurant was packed. But getting in line to snag a table was a very easy experience and before too long we were seated. The food and coffee were both quite good. The service was attentive and speedy. I got the Double Major omelette, my wife got the avocado toast, and we shared a slice of pumpkin bread. Overall, nothing overly fancy -- just a good, reliable breakfast experience that hit the spot.

Yelp
Cafe Patachou, what has happened to you? An extremely disappointing experience where we had to leave without ever receiving our food, or even being able to order. Our group of six planned to eat breakfast here before a Colts game. The hostess told us 20-25 minute wait, which we had expected, and why we had arrived early. Nearly an hour later the hostess called us and prepared to seat us. As she started to head toward the table she saw a group of 9 were being seated at our table with another table being pushed in to accommodate. The hostess instructed us to wait while she found out what had happened to our table. She came back to report to us that the manager had brought in a group of 9 and just seated them at our table. She was very apologetic and offered to seat us outside, which we agreed. However, we sat outside for 15 minutes and no one came to take our order. It was like once we were seated at an outdoor table they totally forgot about us. While we were sitting there we saw other groups being called in when tables became available, but no server ever approached us. After waiting 15 minutes we decided that we couldn't wait any longer, so one member of our group went in to tell the hostess that we would have to leave. This would be a one star review except that the hostess was so apologetic and was truly sorry that the manager had seated another group at our table. And she was unaware that no one had come outside to take our order once we were seated outside. Very disappointed with this experience.

Yelp
Always amazing. Every time I'm in town I stop in. Come for the omelette stay for the all-you-can-drink coffee!
google avatar

Yelp
I haven't been to this location in a really long time. Service was very friendly and prompt. We were waiting for the rest our party to arrive and as soon as we were ready, we were seated very quickly. I ordered the California Dreamer and added mushrooms and the cinnamon sourdough- it was delicious but there was way too much arugula on the plate. I also ordered a side of chicken sausage and it was just ok. I also ordered the brown sugar cinnamon latte and that was really good! Overall experience was as very good!

Yelp
My mom had a taste of the waffle grilled cheese & tomato/artichoke bisque over the weekend and couldn't stop talking about it! I had an appointment next-door today, and was excited to give it a try! I walked in the door at 2:55 not realizing that they close at 3 PM. I received a friendly greeting and was seated so I could order lunch. After ordering, I connected to the Wi-Fi and realized that they closed at 3 PM. I felt so terrible, I would never decide to visit a restaurant five minutes before closing, but I was so impressed by the hospitality that outshined my ignorance. The food was hot and fresh and the service was very friendly. I very much appreciated the hospitality and the food was phenomenal! I will definitely be back, next time when I have more leisure time to sit and relax and enjoy more menu options.
google avatar

Yelp
Really great breakfast spot. Has a good selection of different breakfast foods and drinks. It's a great upscale atmosphere mixed with a relaxed feel. I ordered the broken yolk sandwich with the pork sausage patties. The sausage was very flavorful and didn't have much of the hard gristle sausage can have. I then substituted the arugula with fruit which was a good choice. I also enjoyed the tea. My friend got the flavored special coffee and he loved it. It was French vanilla on this day.

Yelp
To close our amazing concert weekend trip to Indy, we wanted to end on a high note. Every search for brunch around downtown began with Cafe Patachou, so we took a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the restaurant. As expected, there was a long line of people waiting for a table. Luckily, they have free coffee that's available. The regular roast was gone, so I opted for Banana Nut. Holy cow! It was incredible. It made the 20 minute wait for a table fly by. My wife and I are bar people, so we were happy to be seated in stools by the kitchen window. I ordered the Cinnamon Bomb Donut and a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte, which was a nice pairing. The donut was so so good...and gluten free! So my wife got to enjoy a few bite, which was great for me because I could save room for brunch. I was hungry. I ordered the Cuban Breakfast and added chorizo. I barely got a picture of it because once I cracked the egg, it was gone within 5 minutes. Every bite was excellent. The yolk mixed with sour cream, pesto, and avocado was delightful. I was very happy with my choice. My wife also enjoyed her omelette, bacon (which was thick), and the mimosa to wash it all down. Once we sat down, service moved pretty quick. Our bartender was very busy, but always checked in every 7-8 minutes. It was a very good experience. We even left with banana nut coffee beans so we can enjoy the coffee in Louisville. We enjoyed our time at Cafe Patachou, and recommend checking it out. Don't let the line intimidate you because it is so worth the wait!

Yelp
Excellent café with a fantastic variety of options for both breakfast and lunch. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the ingredients feel high-quality. The atmosphere is bright and lively, which is perfect for a casual brunch or quick meal downtown. Staff are friendly, service is quick, and the overall vibe makes you want to linger a little longer. Speaking of which, this place sure gets BUSY, especially on weekdays! Do take that into consideration if you wish to eat in here. Whether you're in the mood for classic breakfast fare or something lighter for lunch, Café Patachou absolutely delivers. One of my favorite Indy spots!
google avatar

Denise H.

Yelp
This brunch spot has great upbeat energy! Staff are helpful, prompt and professional. Good choices for gluten free or organic focused. Two great locations downtown and 51st and Penn
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
We ate here before the Lions vs Colts game and are so glad we made the trip. It is the perfect location and atmosphere for a nice breakfast before tailgating. The food, the staff and the location made for a perfect start to our day. We had waffle grill cheese, an omlette and some gluten free toast and Bacon. All of it was amazing. I definitely recommend coming here if you are visiting downtown and looking for a high quality meal in a fun place.

Yelp
Stopped by Café Patachou for a quick lunch and it hit the spot! I had the Hippie with a Benz and it was absolutely delicious. The outdoor seating was lovely, the vibe was relaxed, and the service was quick. Great value for the quality--will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Good takeout place for lunch while I was at a work conference at the convention center. Got the public greens power bowl with avocado. A little on the oily side but otherwise a filling "healthy" lunch. Takeout was pretty quick, ready in 10 minutes. There is a large seating area too that filled quickly.
google avatar

Kendal S.

Yelp
My favorite breakfast in Indianapolis. I love a good omelette and their OMELETTE YOU CAN'T REFUSE Is perfect. Bacon, white cheddar, sour cream, and potatoes. It's one of those omelets that fills you up but you don't fill terrible after it at all. It came with a nice light salad that was the perfect pairing. Plus I chose cinnamon toast as my bread of choice and that was spectacular. If It's a causal breakfast, one with a significant other or a business brunch, this place is perfect
google avatar

Betsy L.

Yelp
Here's all you need to know about how good Cafe Patachou is: we're in Indianapolis for four days, and I'm already pitching that we go back here for all our remaining breakfasts. I got the Ricotta Scrambled Eggs, which are probably the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. The eggs are supremely fluffy, and come sprinkled with red pepper, chives, and Parmesan cheese. It's finished with calabrian chili oil, giving the whole dish a warm spice that balances the rich eggs and cheese. I would 100% order this again! I was also quite impressed by the speed with which the servers moved folks through, without ever making us feel rushed while we were eating. They're clearly adept at dealing with a breakfast rush!
google avatar

Amy F.

Yelp
Excellent service! Both the greeter and the server that took care of us love their job - the food they serve and the restaurant in general. Very allergy aware, which we always appreciate because we have a 7 year old with a nut allergy. I had the ricotta pesto toast and it was so good! The micro greens were super fresh, the egg was perfectly cooked over easy, the sourdough toast was fresh and tasty. I also loved that it was just one piece. High ceilings and well spaced tables make this a very comfortable place.
google avatar

Dustin C.

Yelp
Delicious! Great menu, full of unique options. Opted for two scrambled eggs, side of bacon and small order of yogurt/berries/granola. All tasted delicious, perfect portion size too! We also got the Cuban breakfast, which is kinda like a chipotle bowl. It was missing the spinach-jalapeño pesto, which would have been nice. We also got the cinnamon toast, which was to die for! Talk about thick sliced toast sprinkled with cinnamon sugar-- delicious!!! Finally, service was attentive and responsive. Outside of finding parking, great experience.

Yelp
First things first, the food was excellent! There were 5 of us, 2 kids and even the kids said their food was really good. Definitely worth coming again! Lots of spaced out seating, well lit and quiet. Cute place very welcoming. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Introduced us to the history of the restaurant. He said it was as his best job ever, clearly enjoys working here! I had the Cuban breakfast and every bite was delicious!
google avatar

Michelle V.

Yelp
Came right before noon before the lunch rush on a Friday. It was my second time here; I got a chorizo bowl last time which was delicious. Got a power greens bowl this time with smoked salmon, matzo ball soup, and coffee. Service was friendly and quick. The shop is bustling and there's a lot of healthy options. My cup of matzo ball soup was heartwarming. Glad I could come by on a Friday! The ball was soft and not chunky like other ones I've had; tasted standard. The power greens bowl looked small but kept me satisfactorily full throughout the next couple of hours. Lots of good flavor and textures in there. The coffee is self-serve and you can take it to go. I like the variety of milk options. There was a third drink besides regular coffee and decaf, but I wasn't sure if it was a tea or a third coffee option. With tax and tip for my items, it came out to be $36. Pretty pricey for Indianapolis in my opinion. Although definitely a reliable spot for a meal while hanging near the convention center!

Chelsea P.

Yelp
Needed a GF food option while staying in Indianapolis for a show. Cafe Patachou was perfect! The decor inside is super cute. Offers indoor and outdoor dining. They have a self serve coffee station. Our server was really attentive and answered our questions about the menu. We got the cinnamon GF toast, bacon, breakfast potatoes, gf avocado toast and the GF waffles. Everything was yummy. And if I'm in the area again I will definitely return for more.
google avatar

Nick K.

Yelp
They describe themselves as a student union for grownups. Well, I'm not sure about that, but $5 coffees that you have to serve yourself? And I wanted something lighter so ordered the salmon toast. For $17, you get one slice of toast and two tiny pieces of salmon. So, with tip, $30. What a ripoff.
google avatar

Shayla W.

Yelp
I love the cinnamon toast. I would Go back just to have that. The food is clean but not boring.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
When visiting Indianapolis with family, we popped into Cafe Patachou for breakfast. We all loved our meal, had great service, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The serve yourself coffee bar was a nice touch! Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
Wowza! VEGAN crepe is out of control tasty just right. From the shrooms, onion and spice. Not sweet a chickpea dense but fluffy patty or pancake to describe (see pic). Not sure fluffy and dense go together!! Hard to explain. Sat at bar and all food looked great and plated nicely. Workers back and front all flow perfectly. Sophie waited on me and recommended the vegan crepe. Service was perfect with a smile. Thanks.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
The food and service continue to impress. This has become one of my staples growing up in Indy. I can always count on the perfect ambience for brunch - whether it's breakfast or lunch or a combo. I had a half chicken salad sandwich with their amazing tomato soup. That soup is mouthwatering. With these tiny croutons and cheese on top, it's the perfect combination and could totally be eaten by itself. Why do that though when the bread and sandwiches are so good. Pair em
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
I love this place! I travel for work and I come here every single time I'm in Indy. The service is fast and friendly. They have the most delicious "vegan crepe" entree. It's a savory chickpea crepe with avocado, onion, and mushrooms spiced to perfection. The self serve coffee bar is so cute and convenient. They have non dairy milks. The atmosphere is so nice and calm and cozy. Coming in here just makes me happy. Hope they're in business forever!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
What a find downtown Indianapolis. This felt like a student union experience with great food and good coffee. Food came out so fast and my omelette was exactly what I wanted. Well worth the visit and even parking was easy
google avatar

Chatarra J.

Yelp
The location is very convenient if you're downtown for business or conference. The dining room is very clean and there is outdoor dining available but it's pretty loud. The food was good. I had an omelet, which was tasty, with greens and jam. I would recommend to a friend.
google avatar

Tiffany J.

Yelp
This is a really nice brunch/lunch spot. It is spacious, the service was great and the food was fresh. I see why it was super crowded with locals when we went. We were seated pretty quickly. Once seated, they brought water to the table and took our drink order. Our server was really awesome from start to finish. He checked on us frequently, gave food/drink recommendations, etc. I ordered the tomato artichoke soup served with parmesan croutons and the house roasted turkey club. It's served with of course roasted turkey, herbed cream cheese, avocado, bacon, tomato, lettuce, mayo. I also had a bowl of fresh fruit (pineapple, blueberries, and strawberries). My entire meal was fresh and delicious. Oh and I also want to add that I did taste the smash burger and fries...delicious! When/if i go back, I am definitely going to try that out!

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Food - service- ambiance - on point! It was a great weekend vibe. It's a wonderful place for family or dates.
google avatar

Dinese M.

Yelp
This place doesn't take reservations so I stopped in for a mid morning Sunday brunch and there was a 20 minute wait. It was a beautiful day so we sat outdoors. Our server was really great and the food was delicious. I had to try the cinnamon toast due to all the hype and I was not disappointed. Overall great dining experience.
google avatar

Albert K.

Yelp
Tried French toast today. Was excellent and not too sugary. I prefer the spicy scrambled egg toast though.

Cassie F.

Yelp
The Green Goddess Salad (the old recipe) was my favorite, I'm disappointed in the new menu and hope they'll bring back the old recipe!
google avatar

Terry C.

Yelp
This place was noteworthy for a few things. It's crowds (it was BUSY) but also the food. The food was beyond good. I just had a sandwich, but it was properly portioned and delicious. I would definitely come back when I get to Indy

Crystal K.

Yelp
Delicious food that is outside the normal eggs and bacon. Bright, clean restaurant. Quick, friendly service.
google avatar

Ryan P.

Yelp
Food was really good, endless coffee, which tasted great, and wonderful service! Prices aren't too off the charts for being downtown either! Great place for breakfast.

Angelique H.

Yelp
Cafe Patachou always has excellent service and delightful food! We had the Granola Breakfast and the Make it yourself omelette. Both items were incredible in different ways. The omelette was absolutely delicious. Remember the cinnamon toast your mama made for you as a kid? You can get it here! The fresh fruit with the granola breakfast was first class. Our waiter recommended a Latte and it hit the spot. We've been coming here for 10 years and it never disappoints.
google avatar

Slava C.

Yelp
Walking this beautiful Indy downtown on September 1, decided to drop by at Patachou and yes, it was a right choice. Jeoff offered a great customer experience by recommending delicious food and light, California brewed drinks. Pleasant, chilled inside atmosphere and outside patio with the view at Indiana Statehouse welcomes you. Furthermore, the ordered burger was well done and batteries were a bit on the driver side. Guess what, Jeoff offered to have it redone the right way and it turned out to be right on the spot. Way to go! Pleasant, joyful, and welcoming. See you next time.

Yelp
Yummy breakfast:-) I had the Ricotta Toast with over-easy eggs. I could taste the freshness of the ingredients used:-) If you're hungry, this toast will NOT fill you up, but it was delightful. The quality of the bottomless drip coffee is better than expected. Good service. Will certainly stop by when my travels bring me back to Indy.
google avatar

Leah J.

Yelp
All I can say is wow! Lol... We came here the day after Christmas and wanted a good, warm, breakfast and Café pad you hit the spot literally! Lol when we walked in, the service was phenomenal we were able to sit down immediately!I really like the environment at this location... It's a little more cozier and not as busy. We were able to sit by a window and was served immediately. Colton was our server and he was good! I ordered the turkey chili, 10 out of 10 highly recommended! And also the Cuban breakfast
google avatar

Albert C.

Yelp
A nice cafe with pretty decent staff. But it's highly overpriced for little food. I got the Cuban breakfast and it was a small plate for $14. Came out to over $18 after tax and tip. Definitely not worth that amount. The flavor was good but it's probably just squirts of pesto and sour cream from a bottle. Not sure what to expect since I guess it's in a touristy area and my Uber driver even recommended it. I think food in Indianapolis is just expensive and not super great either. Id rather door dash some food next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, great healthy food options, vegan & gluten free options that are actually good.
google avatar

Honey B.

Yelp
THIS IS THE BEST FOOD IVE EVER HAD NO EXAGGERATING. i'm from california and this is the first time ive eaten food here and now i want to move here just for this place
google avatar

Barbara W.

Yelp
I was very excited to eat here as the menu looked simple and straight forward. The restaurant was super busy but I was seated quickly and the server greeted me straight away. However, he was kind of rude and didn't really address me or look me in the eye. I brushed it off and thought it was because it was about and he was just trying to get everybody what they needed. However, when he went to take the table next to me order he was all jokey and warm. So I didn't really appreciate the service and the table next to me actually ended up paying for my food. The food itself was ok. I had the phat rabbit sandwich which was kind of bland (mind you it was vegan, but vegan food is not an excuse for it to be bland) and I also had the artichoke tomato soup which was delicious. Overall, I wouldn't come back here.
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Cafe Patachou. I was in town for my sorority's convention and this little gem was in walking distance from the hotel and convention center. The restaurant was very clean and the service staff was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the "build your own omelette " with chorizo, mushrooms, and spinach. It was delicious! The coffee was brewed fresh and was delicious! Overall 10 out of 10!
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
This please was adorable. Walking distance from our hotel downtown. No wait but packed. And the food was amazing! I had the half BLT with fresh mozzarella and a cup Of the most amazing tomatoe/artichoke soup. It was the best!! This place felt like a student Union for adults. I can't wait to come back and try breakfast! It was a little loud, so not the best place for work... but I'll be back for sure!
google avatar

Holly F.

Yelp
Stayed at the Westin next door, so it was an easy decision to visit Cafe Patachou the next rainy morning. Service was excellent and the breakfast was amazing. The best part though- that banana nut coffee!! Wish I would have started off with it rather than having it as my second cup. Took an extra cup to go...
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
My mother and I ate here twice in a row during a recent trip to Indy. Solid food, great coffee, and a cool atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this spot.
