I visited Cafe Pushkin in Moscow for lunch.
This restaurant was recommended by a staff member at Karlson, and it’s a well-known place where you can enjoy Russian cuisine.
Both the exterior and interior have a very elegant and prestigious atmosphere, almost like being inside an aristocratic mansion.
Upon entering, there is a cloakroom in the basement where you leave your coat, which adds to the sense of luxury.
We ordered several dishes, and the pirozhki (one with mushrooms and one stuffed with meat) as well as the beef stroganoff were especially delicious.
They had the rich flavors typical of Russian cuisine and were very satisfying.
On the other hand, a dumpling-like dish had a strong lamb flavor, which might be a bit too distinctive for some people depending on their taste.
Overall, both the food and the atmosphere are of a high standard, and I think it’s a restaurant worth visiting at least once when traveling to Moscow.
It’s a great place when you want to enjoy a meal in a slightly special setting.
