What an unassuming spot in Coogee! We walked in as a group for brunch and loved the experience. The service was nice, the setting was chill and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend for those who are looking for a good, quieter spot in Coogee.

Cafe Rafaele is a quaint little cafe with great coffee and bistro style french food. I would recommend the Fish du Jour, super tender poached salmon topped with a zingy and fresh cucumber, fennel, rocket salad. It’s a bit more on the pricey side, but well worth it as the quality of food shows for it. Definitely would recommend and would come back to try their croque monsieur and steak frites.

Have often been here for brunch and the food is always fantastic, my favourite is the mushrooms on schiacciatta with the amazing porcini mayo/sauce. We tried dinner for the first time and had the delicious steak frites, the miso butter is a wonderful addition, highly recommend! Update July 2025: We've just been back for the $50 3 course set menu, with our newborn baby. The waitress was lovely and we felt so comfortable, no one got annoyed when our bub made a bit of noise. The kitchen staff were very accommodating and we think it's great deal for $50 (raddicchio, blue cheese and pear salad, steak frites and crepes Suzette) Lovely place, nice atmosphere on a cold winter's night and friendly staff.

What an absolute gem at Coogee beach. French inspired and absolutely delicious. Great coffee and the food has a care and authenticity to it, which is very tough to find. Here's a tip, try the lemon and sugar crepes.. Excellent staff and can't wait to come back!

Just a gorgeous little cafe, bathed in sunshine with an authentic French influence. The food is just delicious and made with love, with attention to detail, beyond pleasing as I am fuss pot. Fabulous dinner and lunch specials too, they are also licensed. Service is super friendly and inspiring to come back... I would highly recommend this local spot. 5 Stars. xx

Lovely low-key brunch for my Dad’s birthday. The food (and coffee) tastes even better than it looks! Perfect local cafe vibe.

I really wanted to like Cafe Rafaele. It's in a great location and other reviews were good. Unfortunately, after waiting for over 20 minutes for someone to take my food order, I decided to pay for my orange juice (small glass, mostly ice, $9) and leave. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. I'm guessing that with only one lovely, but completely overwhelmed waitress having to take orders, deliver the food from the kitchen, clean tables, and take payment too, delays like this are inevitable. I'm disappointed I didn't get to taste the food. Maybe I'll be back and bring my own snacks while I wait.
