With a party of three, we decided to reserve a table at Dauphine. I learned this was a car dealership, which is why it got the name of the Renault Dauphine. High ceilings, a large hall without separation. You have to wait to be seated. The service was amazing, friendly and super attentive! Leaving no wish or question unanswered. The food was good, but for the price left space for improvement. I had the Bouillabaisse, missing its freshness and character. The Caesar salad was ok. Still, our overall experience was great - thanks for having us

Amazing ambience and service. The quality of the food was good but the flavours didn't blow me away. I ordered the ribeye and spent half my time trying to chew it even though it was supposed to be medium rare. I didn't end up finishing it. The leg of lamb for 2 was a much better option.

The best restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful. I came back to the restaurant twice in a row in two days and special thanks to Kick who made the experience more beautiful every time.

As from the start very, very, very kind people!! Nice food and a wonderful atmosphere. I can't count the times anymore I was here! Many more to come. PS Also Club Dauphine is amazing!! Go there!

Good location close to Amstel station. Food is good but bit overpriced. Interior is spacious, gives a bit the feeling of an American dinner.

Perfect restaurant - accessible with public transport (Amstel Station 4 minute walk). We had 2x group dinners in 1 week. They have a nice (limited for larger groups) menu but plenty choice. Food was delicious, service friendly and professional. We will be back!

The place has a lot of tables inside but you don’t get the feeling that is crowded. The food was good. They also have a place in the back where they have live music, you definitely need to book upfront both of them.

I leave a review for Club Dauphine in the back of the restaurant. First of all I am a fan and have gone many many times. What is becoming borderline unbearable are the price increases in the span of one year. Last night, table of 4, we spent 120 euro per person (!). Excluding drinks after dinner. That used to be some 105 per person previous years. Which was high but worth it given the entertainment. We drunk 8 glasses of wine and 2 glasses of beer. Not too crazy for 4 persons, and similar as other years. Actually went back to my bill today and noted as an example 15 euro for the bread. I would think that should all be in the dinner Dauphine. But in any case 15 euro for 4 minuscule pieces of bread with way too little butter (always a struggle to divide over 4 people) starts feeling bad. You start hitting the “this is annoying” level. Makes me want to say I don’t want the bread. Wanted to leave that with you as constructive criticism. I have noted we started going less because of the price, which is considered too high by many of our friends. Now, you don’t seem to suffer yet as the place was packed last night. And it was a good evening , started not so thrilling in the two first sets of music but the last set Rocked! But as any marketeer will tell you , there is a price point where people turn away. And it’ll be hard to come back from that. In my perspective you are slightly above that point. We’ll see how it goes from here , I sure wish you success because I LOVE the concept of the club.

Yelp
Don't go there if you don't like European style slow and I can't be bothered attitude waitstaff. The hip decor and live music venue should have tipped me off to a night of indifference.

Yelp
We stopped in here for our first full meal in the city because it was within walking distance of our hotel. Not knowing what we should get our waitress was great with helping us figure out the menu as well as recommendations for other places during our visit. I landed on the ciabatta with grilled veggies, Parma ham, mozzarella and pesto and we shared a plate of bitterballen at the table. I think this was the moment I fell in love with bitterballen lol. They are basically battered veal balls and they are delicious! My sandwich was also really tasty and satisfying. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal and this was pretty much the start of our wonderful food journey through Amsterdam. I don't think there was a single place where I didn't love the food.

Yelp
Conveniently located across the street from Amstel station on the way to Casa 400 Hotel, Dauphine Cafe has a big dining area and outside patio. You will see an antique car in the front so you can't miss it. We came for dinner and were impressed by the nice contemporary decor and high ceiling. The service was good, and the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. Here's what I recommend: -Caesar Salad with poached egg -Soft Shell Crab with seaweed salad and yuzu mayo: love this one! One of the popular selections here. The three pieces of crabs are not battered (or just very slightly) and fried to a perfect golden hue then served on top of the citrus seaweed salad. -Spaghetti with squid (calamari) and gambas (shrimps): also really enjoyed this dish. We loved it so much we ordered a second one since we ordered a small the first round. Go for the large portion! Overall, with the above dishes, I felt it was the best meal I've had during my week-long visit to Amsterdam. The venue is also good for business meetings and convenient from Amstel station.

Yelp
Dauphine is a great spot for a business lunch, or drinks after work. Guests are mostly business men and women. It can get a bit noisy during lunch and dinner time. In the back, there are rooms that can be rented for business presentations and drinks. The reasons why it is popular: - next to Amstel station, so good access with public transport - free parking - meals are ok, plenty of choices Tip: - reserve in time. It may get busy during lunch and dinner time. - Riva is run by the same owners, and has as bonus a nice view from the terrace over the amstelriver

Yelp
This is your spot to see and be seen among some of the most powerful personalities in Amsterdam owing to the Dutch media outlets that share the same building. In the evenings, you can see a lot of very well dressed people enjoying a few after-work drinks with colleagues and friends. All this makes Dauphine a fairly crowded spot at almost all times of the day. I had a vegetarian burger here for lunch this time, and the wait time was excruciatingly painful. The burger itself wasn't that bad, but then I don't particularly fancy blue cheese a lot. Otherwise, it was quite decent, albeit expensive and a very long lunch. The venue is HUGE, what with a club inside as well. The tables are neatly laid out, but close together. The best part - drinks are not as expensive as their food!

Yelp
Had a business lunch with several co-workers. People ordered hamburgers (beef and lentil) and all of seemed to enjoy the food. I liked my lentil burger with a salsa/catsup and mayo. Would give a 3.5 stars. I'd go back for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Dauphine Cafe is not the typical restaurant to stumble across if you are a tourist but if you are one of the locals in the community, then it's a great spot to stop through for a drink. I would consider the food average but not something that leaves a lasting impression on you. As far as customer service, I noticed an intense focus on table service, which is a plus in my book. "High quality" customers service is the key to a successful business, even if the food is not superb. I had a meeting here for lunch, so it works for me. I notice it was a large crowd of suites and briefcases. I got the impression that it was a popular place Monday through Friday for the 9-5 crowd. A trendy bar/restaurant for the adult bunch to enjoy Happy- Hour. It also appears to be a great place to meet up with friends but only if your lucky to be seated on the terrace during the summer.

Yelp
I thought this restaurant was nice, but I think for the price it's not remarkable. My salad was pretty flavorful and I liked the food concepts, but I think they could have been better executed. For example, the pita on the salad could have been a nice touch, but it was stale. The plum tart also was presented very nicely, but I think it lacked in flavor. Still, the interior was very unique and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I had a nice experience, but not my favorite place.

Yelp
nice food, good atmosphere, full house but the service took too much time. So would like to recommend it but you need to be prepared to wait for your food.

Yelp
Really large cafe / restaurant. Food is good. Cappuccinos are good. Great for business meetings. Free and fast wifi. A bit more upscale. Busy but never a wait. I use this spot for meetings and have never had a disappointment.

Yelp
Good food, good wine, good service and a great location. It's spacious and it fits lots of people so be prepared for a noisy, busy night! This might be a turnoff for some of you... I like the noisy atmosphere for the reason that no one actually overhears the conversations on your table! Been here several times and will definitely come back when in Amsterdam.

Yelp
Great nice lofty place. It was an old Renault garage. The bar is superb. Great for hanging out with a big bouncy of friends. Food is not superb but good. Not too pricey if you do not indulge too much with wine. Not really central. Noisy as it is really a big place. When I was there I remember too many kids.

Yelp
Food was good, the fish was very yummy and the vegetables were good as well. However the wait staff seemed distracted and didn't really Check in on us too often. The wait was long as well

Yelp
Well, I wanted to like this place, but I just can't. Slow service. Food was OK not great. We were told that there was live jazz during dinner which sounded great. Instead the jazz is at Club Dauphine at the back and all we got is let over vibrations. Not horrible, but not what we expected.

Kim V.

Yelp
I really expected more of this restaurant. I heard a lot of great things about it but I was not impressed at all. I had dinner here. The food was okay, nothing special. The service was fine and the interior was beautifull. Thats it. Maybe I should come back for lunch or drinks sometime.

Yelp
The server was very friendly but the chicken wasn't properly cooked. Overall the meal was mediocre and it made airplane food seem like the best of Jean Georges.

Noortje D.

Yelp
Always good service, good food and good location. Been here more than 50 times and did not have one bad experience. Perfect for business meetings as well.

Yelp
The starter was good and I like the decor. However, I've waited so long for my food I almost missed my flight, and that's with coming to Dauphine at 2:30 and flying out from Schiphol at 6:00p. Eventually I asked for a box to take the food with me but it took them another 15 minutes to get it. I only got a few bites before I had to dispose of it at the airport.

Yelp
I dined at Cafe Dauphine on a busy Monday evening. The server was attentive and efficient, however, the overall customer service experience here was horrendous. I ordered the lobster bisque to start. When it arrived, it looked like brown rain puddle water. I had a taste, and it was more of a salty broth soup than anything. A bisque, by definition, is a creamy French soup. There was also ONE tiny piece of lobster in it. I brought this to the attention of my server, and ordered the pumpkin soup, the Alaskan King crab legs, and the soft shell crab. When I finished my meal, much to my surprise, the saltwater broth soup remained on my check. They comped my soda in lieu of removing the "bisque", which left me having to pay the difference. I explained to the server that I didn't eat the soup, I ordered another soup and would gladly pay for my soda, but the soup WAS NOT a bisque, and I should not have to pay for it. I had one spoonful of it! He said he'd speak to the chef, and when he returned, he told me "that's the way we serve it." I was flabbergasted. They would do nothing more. I explained to him that it is unfortunate to force a guest to pay for an item that was immediately sent back, and again reiterated it was NOT A BISQUE. I told him I live in the neighborhood, so he can tell the chef that they lost a customer, as I would not return again. On my way out I decided to speak with a manager/supervisor to give them one last chance to make things right. I was met again with "that's how we do bisque here" and "we gave you your soda as a courtesy". I went right back to the script and told the manager that it is ludicrous to serve a broth soup, call it a bisque, refuse to comp it when it was uneaten, and then behave as though they are doing me a favor by giving me soda. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Yelp
This was, without reservation, one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The staff was thoroughly inattentive, the food took ages to emerge from the kitchen, and what did emerge was widely disappointing. The pumpkin soup was good, but my deer steak was thoroughly under seasoned and the ribeye my girlfriend ordered was barely fit for service to dogs. If the staff had showed any interest in our experience we would have said something about the food, but it was preferable to leave swiftly, never to return.
