Restaurant Café Feynsinn

Café Feynsinn offers a charming slow food experience in the heart of the city. Their seasonal asparagus dishes are a highlight fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. A great spot for anyone who values quality ingredients and a relaxed atmosphere.

It was one of the worst restaurant experiences I ever had. I chose a dish called "shakshuka", which is to roasted eggs with vegetables in a pan. The taste wasn't great, but okay. I ate a bit then I turned my eggs back and I saw under the roasted eggs were all greyish green spots that I thought could be the effect of oxidized metal from the pan. I asked the waitress, she said these are normal, it's from the pan, so I said that the oxidized metal could be poisonous, first she said the pan is steel and is not poisonous, so I told her the pan seems rusty, since steel shouldn't rust, then she got very defensive and said that she thinks it is not from the metal! So i said what is it then? Mold? Burned eggs? Whatever it is I don't want to eat that. Her behavior was very rude and unfriendly, defensive, and refusing to help us out. She even made a sarcastic comment to our friend who was not involved in the discussion, very unprofessional. So I asked for the manager, who came and in a rather rude way talked to my husband, turning his back to me! I assume either because I don't speak German so well or because I am a woman, I don't know, but it felt very ignorant. He said we don't take money from you for this order but you made a drama out of nothing! I will share pictures of the dishes, for next customers to see what is drama and what is a fact! This Café is located in front of Rathenauplatz, and offers snacks, meals, cake and different types of drinks hot and cold, and alcoholic to non alcoholic. They have Chai Latte, and other types of coffee, and a beautiful terrace, with a view to the cozy street. The ambience is a bit poshy, the price range is not in the lower spectrum, but the vibe is nice, and looks like a perfect place to have a Spritz or a Gin Tonic on a springtime afternoon. I don't match so much the audience, but the times is asked for drinks, sometimes to go, the service was friendly and easy going. May be i give it a try again, to be able to further feed this review.

A great spot for breakfast! We were on a business trip for a few days in Cologne and found this place on Google. They have a great breakfast menu, including several vegan options. I went for the vegan scrambled tofu roll. Service was quick, the coffee was lovely and my breakfast was delicious! I definitely recommend this place for a good start to the day 😊

Super nice place to take a break! Good caffe. Great cakes and amazing brunch! In front of the park you can enjoy a Saturday morning in the tables outside or inside with an amazing stylish decoration. Great place in Köln.

I went here for brunch on a busy holiday day in the city. I fancied something from the breakfast menú and decided to go for the mushroom omelette, which came with some toasted baguette, a garlic dip (if I remember correctly), and a small salad for garnish. It wasn't a bad meal. The egg was well done, which I was expecting anyways, but it was a bit dry. I think that for €11.90 the omelette could have been a bit bigger, and it could have done with something like a rosti on the side also in my opinion, so it wasn't great value for money. The cappuccino was alright. Friendly staff and a relaxed environment. It's worth a visit if you're stuck with where to go in the area. 3 stars is a fair review.

Everything was absolutely amazing. The food tastes great, service is good and we had a cozy atmosphere. Try the hummus.

I love this cafe. The atmosphere is great inside or out. The food and wine are always great. I love that they change up their menu with lots of different specials. The servers are very friendly too!

Service can be iffy, but food is always awesome. Great interior, free wifi.

I was here on Sunday afternoon at 2pm. The website and sign on the door says breakfast served until 4pm, but the server said they stop serving breakfast at 1pm. Next, it took over 10 minutes to get a lunch menu, and the service was very slow and flippant. Our server spent plenty of time looking in the mirror, however. The couple seated next to us got up and left. We stayed because we didn't have time to find somewhere else. After eating we asked for the check, and it never came. I finally had to pay at the bar. The food was good, but the service was awful.

Went here late at night on a Friday and it was very busy! Gorgeous interior, very cosy. I tried the Apricot streusel and it was ok- would have been nice if it was heated or offered with cream. I'll be coming back to try some other stuff though, service was great :)
