What a bee-utiful little cafe. Came here for a breakfast and the vibes are immaculate. Do note that it is an Austrian tradition to spend a long time enjoying coffee/food while having long conversations. The service staff are helpful and hilarious, tho not all speak English (there is an English menu). The food also was so very lovely, and I enjoyed sitting outside while sipping my coffee. Will be back soon!

You’ll get One of the best local food which is too tasty. Got recommended by the hostel I was staying and it dint disappoint. The service was great, amazing people, they actually tried to help me figure out the best food (as I don’t eat beef) Highly recommended

Very delicious Austrian food ! I ordered the Schnitzel chicken ( = fried chicken) and it was extremely tasty! The rice also is cooked well(even in Asian’ eye!) The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing and free newspaper available!

Great place to have your first original Vienn schnitzel, for the fare price! A complimented with a great variety of wine , you’ll have a great dinner! Recommend to visit! Staff is amazing, very grateful that they were helpful with suggestions! Totally will come back when I visit the city! PS: the schnitzel was very delicious , this is why the plate in the pic is empty!

Absolutely love this place. First time we came here we had coffee & cake at 10am. Delicious cake, classic setty, lots of local regulars and charming waiters. Second time, night cap at 10.30pm on a Sunday, fantastic neighborhood bar serving spritz late. Great atmosphere.

Hands down, the best Melange in town. This place is one of the best REAL coffee houses in Vienna, The breakfast menu is just amazing. I adore this place and the location of it. The cute silent streets of Vienna with lots of details...don't miss if you're in Wien💫

I had always had a hard time distinguishing Austrian food from German food. This place changed that! If you are traveling around Vienna, make sure you stop by this fantastic place. This restaurants offers authentic Austrian dishes in a delightful manner. The staff is friendly and professional, and I was delighted that they explained me the differentiation between Austrian and German cuisine. It is a place I would undoubtedly recommend!

Got this place recommended by a local. I'm a vegetarian and fortunately discovered they also have some vegetarian options. Place looks like and feels like a traditional viennese coffee house. Even though the waiters are chicly dressed, there is a casual atmosphere and the waiters are super kind and welcoming. Food also not too expensive for viennese standards and tastes good. It was served extremely fast, within 5 mins (cafe was not full but pleasantly busy). Would recommend!

Yelp
This little place was lovely. We ate here on a Sunday night during the Advent season. The food was excellent (veal schnitzel and pork cordon bleu for the win) and the service was phenomenal. We clearly did not speak German but tried our best. We were rewarded with grace and patience. The cappuccino was excellent as well. Huge portions.

Yelp
It's fine. We went in for breakfast, and the servers were polite but a little uptight. I know the Viennese aren't known for expressing their feelings, but in our experience that's a bad rap - they're just as open and nice as anyone if you are friendly. But here, it felt like I was at my Austrian auntie's house and I was about to get in trouble for putting my fork down too hard. It was a weekday morning and not very busy, but the service was still a bit slow. The food was competent, but nothing special. I thought the prices were just a bit high for the quality and quantity. The location is great, right in Josefstadt. But we found other breakfast places nearby that we liked better.

Yelp
Good selection of food choices. They have English menus. Open on Sundays. The waitresses are super friendly. Lots of seats. Can't really say much about the food since this was the first Viennese restaurant we ate at once we got here. Overall, food was pretty solid, coffee was very good The goulash soup was super salty. The schnitzel was good. Their Viennese coffee was very good, it was a lot smoother and less acidic than American coffee in my opinion. They also had a variety of breakfast options which was solid.

Yelp
Delicious dishes, u can find all the special austrian dishes. We choose the mushrooms frites, with goat cheese salad, papaya, tomato. it is really delicious. We took these 2 dishes for 2 persons and we got full.

Yelp
The service - extremely slow, but I think the regulars are so great that they don't need the extra tourist. The food - good / very good! The coffee - great! The setting - normal for Wien Local hot spot - Yes! Transportation - located right outside U-Bahn and streetcar Surrounding area - Great / Josefstädterstrasse is a happening and healthy street to shop at. It's perfect for a coffee, breakfast and lunch break. The crowd is mixed and at the same time average. The wait time is long so be ready spend an extra 5 - 10 minutes on ordering and paying.

Yelp
Café Hummel is one on Vienna's most successful neighborhood cafés. It is easy to see why. This is a large café which winds around the building....and of course in warm weather a large Schanigarten also awaits. There is always some place to sit. The food is certainly good and they always have a few specials. The service is usually efficient and actually bordering on friendly. You will see many regulars reading the newspapers or playing a card or board game together. Other people pop in for a quick coffee or meal. Whatever .... it works. This is def a café I can recommend to visitors in Vienna.

Yelp
A nice place for breakfast if you're around. The setting is a typical older Austrian place which I like being a tourist. The food is good and waiters are friendly enough. It's funny that most places have different areas for smoking & non-smoking and the non-smokers are always located at the back.. A lot of locals in this place as well which is a good sign.

Yelp
The coffee is okay, but as a non-smoker I felt treated like a second class customer. The smoking section is in the back, as an after thought. Then, what looks like the owner, keeps proping the door open from the smoking section, so that there's plenty of smoke to creep in and settle into the non-smoking section. The waiters are not particularly friendly, either. In Vienna, I can easily find better coffee served by nicer people in a more pleasant surrounding....

Yelp
I have been here only for their coffee and breakfast and am thoroughly pleased with that. Their lunches look great though and I may have to go back again:) Breakfast is served til 2pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, but normally til 11am on weekdays. I took advantage of a holiday and had a late breakfast meetup and enjoyed an oversized omelette and coffee. My friend had the oriental breakfast, and I have to say I have seen better versions of this breakfast elsewhere. We made a reservation and had no problem getting seated and service was generally nice. You just have to ask for everything here. They won't come check up on you if that is what you are expecting.

Yelp
Good location, but slow, indifferent service. On more than once visit the coffee was actually weak (in a city known for strong, highly flavorful coffee!). But I've never been here for breakfast, and from what I have heard that is the best time to visit this place.
