Would definitely recommend this place. Got the chilaquiles and they did not disappoint. Definitely had a Mexican flare that is hard to find in Puerto Viejo. My wife got the special: Elvis Breakfast Sandwich - banana pb bacon French toast sandwich. She loved it. We also really enjoyed the smoothie and cappuccino. Overall, very good price for what you get and it felt very homey! Would highly recommend. We would go again but they are closed the next two days.

Very laid back, hidden gem in Puerto Viejo. This outdoor cafe was charming with delicious food options. Had come here a decade ago and had banana bread French Toast, was extremely pleased to try this again a decade later and have a delicious meal.

I went in the AM for breakfast after hearing rumors that “Cinnamon Dave”was making his famous cinnamon buns. I started off with a very nice fresh hot roasted cappuccino, that was completely amazing! I had the special which included Daves cinnamon roll, fresh eggs and fresh hand cut fruit, everything was amazing. After talking to the owner and the Cook, I decided that I needed to come back in the evening and try the five cheese pizza. Again, it was amazing! With the cracked pepper and the olive oil to dip the crust in, the perfect mix of cheese, the cool setting, some Wi-Fi to do a little bit of work and a nice book. Cafe Rico is definitely a place to visit if you’re in Puerto Viejo.

They really do have the BEST espresso drinks in PV. I've tried several other local shops and nothing compares to this spot. Owner Lena is super friendly, along with staff. Their iced espresso lattes even have espresso ice cubes in them. So yummy with de Leche coco. Breakfast is fresh & delicious, Ive gotten multiple dishes here now, and they are always so good. I enjoy their weekly specials which are posted on their IG. The vibe is casual & and peaceful, and you may get to see some local wildlife even! They also have laundry services while you eat, work or just chill to read a book.

It's a jungle under a roof. Had the avocado toast. The roasted garlic was a plus. Avocados were perfect, as was the bread. Warning: The cafe grande is muy grande made with on-site roasted Costa Rican coffee beans. Foliage makes it tough to see the entrance, so follow the map app. Rubber duck not included.

Delicious food, coffee, and great staff. Enjoy the peaceful garden setting in the middle of Puerto Viejo. Food made with lots of love. Also, a great place to get a used book. My favorite menu items are the omelette, Ana Rosa, and the French toast. Ask about their weekly special.
