Cafe Rose Red

Managed to get an early table on a Saturday evening. Lovely atmosphere, staff were very welcoming even though they were busy. Service was quick but we didn't feel rushed. Food (carpaccio, potatoes and prawn croquettes) was lovely. We found that 3 plates between us was plenty but we don't have huge appetites. Well worth a visit - it was even recommended by our tour guide later on - but think you'll probably have to book in advance later in the season.

Me and my husband went to the highest rated restaurants during our stay in Brugge but this restaurant gave us the best overall experience. The ambiance is great, the service is professional and the food is amazing. The beers are well presented by kind and experienced waiters and the flavours of each dish was so well balanced they blew our mind. We are considering going back again. ☺️

We found out about this place on a tour. We decided to go after which was late in the evening and the place was heaving. They have a few spaces at the bar where you can drink and eat, the staff were brilliant on giving advice on their selection of beers and we ordered 3 different snack dishes which were delicious!! We then came back late afternoon before the crowd s started arriving again the staff were very attentive helping me choose a wine again we chose 3 different snack dishes which did not disappoint!!the food is delicious and we also thought good value for everything they provide. I will be recommending it to any of my friend heading to Brugge in the future.

This is the best tapas bar in Bruges. There is not a bad thing on the menu (and we tried most of them!) Service is excellent - speedy, friendly, and very accommodating. Whether you’re stopping for a quick drink or dinner, I would highly recommend Cafe Rose Red!

Buzzing bar in the heart of Bruges. We hadn't booked a table so sat at the bar, where the barman gave us food and drink recommendations which were great. Great selection of beers and plenty on tap. Tapas-style dishes that were so delicious we wish we could have eaten more!

We went to the bar for drinks and dinner. Amazing place. Really great food with a fantastic menu full of great choices for almost every taste. Everything we tried was delicious and we'll prepared. They also had an interesting selection of beers with lots to choose and again something for everyone and every taste. On top of this all, the staff were fun, polite, efficient and very welcoming. A truly all-round great experience. I wish we had visited it more than once. Lots still on the menu that we wanted to order.

Ohmygoood! Yes! No second thoughts! Unbelievable food! Every bite makes you question how it can taste so good! You’ll be gagged and wowed. Hands down to their kitchen and staff. Everything you order arrives fast. You’ll probably be full at the end. Everything was only 1h 30min for us. Thank you so much! Keep doing what you’re doing! ✨❤️

This was a great little place for tapas and beer. We received a recommendation from our local tour guide earlier in the day who said that this place caters to locals and tourist alike. Taking his recommendation turned out to be a great idea. We tried three different tapas and three different beers and I was more impressed after each item came out. Great food, great beer, great atmosphere, great service. I’ll be back.

Wow, this place was really great--great beer list (Wine and cocktails offered as well), delicious and interesting tapa style dishes, and great service. We wouldn't have stumbled upon this place, and when looking for it, we didn't even see it when we looked down the quiet street (the patio is in the back so you don't see tables on the street). We three beers: Tsjeeses Reserva Bourbon (my favorite beer ever), and two things from the Musketeers brewery including the one pictured and the Troubadour. For food we had the crispy ayam, pan con sobrasada, and hola tacos vegetarian. All were really interesting and delicious. The crispy crystal bread was incredibly light. Would definitely come back! We came away satisfied and full for surprisingly little money.

The bartender, Koen, is awesome. We arrived, sat at the bar, and chatted with him about what we like to drink, and he made recommendations. After telling him we are here on a 'beercation' he went through our itinerary and gave us some additional insight. While sitting at the bar, really great to chat with him and learn more about the area, and some of his favorite beers. Loved the space - roses hanging from the ceiling, red walls, some bar seating and plenty of tables and seating.

Perfection. Hidden side street, peaceful and laid back ambiance, wonderful servers, a variety of delicious tapas, and an expansive drink list. It was our first stop and I'm not sure how this can be topped! There is really not much more I can say except I hope you make this your next stop.

This spot is beautiful. We dined in for dinner and service started off slow but overall we had a good experience. I started off with a glass of wine then my husband and I split the gyoza, potatoes and beef tataki. The drinks and food were all good, I highly recommend the gyoza. Cafe Rose Red is worth checking out if you are in Bruges. A reservation is also recommended.

We came in here to have drinks and they seated us right away despite there being a few large parties. Our waiter recommended some drinks to us. The menu had many options for beer and wine. I enjoyed my blonde ale and my friends enjoyed rose and a fruit beer. The inside was cozy and simply decorated, pub vibes.

Awesome selection of beer! All I did was drink here so I can't comment on the food. Had one of the best stouts I've ever had. The bartender told me it's not on the menu and I should try it. It did not disappoint! He was a very cool guy. Wish I remembered his name. Definitely stop in for a drink if you're in the area.

Get off the square and hit the side street to discover Cafe Rose Red, named after the book by Stephen King. Charming and delicous.

I really loved this cafe. I went here both days that I was in Brugge. The atmosphere is really laid back and relaxed. I was traveling alone and didn't feel awkward being a single female there. The beer list is really incredible and affordable. I made my way through most of the lambics and guezes that I would never be able to find in America. The service is super friendly and are great at making recommendations. I also tried a salami plate which was huge and served with a bunch of bread. If I lived in Brugge I would make this my daily bar.

Beautiful bar with delicious snacks and a great little patio where you can just kick back and relax. The beer selection is enormous, but the staff is friendly and helpful. Just talk to them about what you like, and they'll help you. Husband and I enjoyed charcuterie and Westmalle while listening to the church bells of Bruges. This was recommended to us by a friend who had lived in Bruges awhile ago. Glad it's still around. Great place to chill out.

This is my first stop when I blow through Bruges. There are other great beer bars, but this one starts you off right. They have a constantly rotating selection of great draft beers, and also a SMALL selection of great draft beers, and the ambiance is quiet - - almost beer reverential, but not that serious. Once you've savored one or two stellar brews here, you settle into the frame of mind, that both warms you to the wonderfulness that Belgian beer can be, and settles you calmly in your frame to go confront the virtual Disneyland that is the rest of Bruges.

In Bruges, do not miss this unique bar. There are a number of incredible beers available (honestly pages and pages). The cheese plate has a great variety of flavors and the staff is welcoming and friendly. There's a cozy spot in the corner to read or to chill out and just people watch.

How could you go wrong w/ over 15 verities of Cantillon? Serious beer nerds can really geek out at this place.

Cafe Rose Red was recommended to me by a few fellow beer nerds I ran into in Brussels at Cantillon, which in itself is about as good of a recommendation as you can get. With a great location in downtown Bruges, and a great draft and bottle list from the likes of Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen it is really worth a visit! I was even able to drink a bottle of 2014 Kriek from 3 Fonteinen that they hadn't had left at the brewery the week before! Cozy pub great for conversation, and great beer, but probably not dinner with only tapas and bar snacks on the menu. Cheers!

Overwhelming selection, knowledgeable, friendly staff and an overall great ambiance. We visited several times and had fun discovering new and sometimes more exclusive beers.

Amazing! Large selection of beer (around 190, mostly local) and friendly waiters. But this is not only a good beer bar in Bruges: contrary to other bars, more traditional, this one is quite romantic, perfect for a couple's night. Less pub crawl, more quality time. Careful though: the fruitbeer selection is more limited than in other bars.

What a wonderful place to spend some time sampling and sipping from the extensive selection of belgian beers here in this relaxed environment where the service is good and the beer flowing. You can even buy the beer sampler consisting of four beers for 10 euro. The cafe has a very warm look as the lighting and ambiance is warm and cozy. You can also order a plate or two of finger food to snack on while you try the belgian beer. Treat yourself to a visit to Cafe Rose Red if you're ever in Brugges, Belgium.

I love this cafe. Obviously from the namesake and pictures, you can see that one of it's attractions are the hundreds of roses hanging from the ceiling. More importantly though, this is a place with an amazing curated beer list. It's not as huge as somewhere like Cambrinus, but if you're a lambic fan, you'll want to come here. Me and the lady split a bottle of Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze Vintage 2008 for 35 Euro which was a reasonable price. I believe this is also where Cantillon Zwanze day is being held tomorrow (9/19). I highly recommend this place! We did not order food here. The food menu looked a little sparse, but people don't generally come here for a meal. On a weekday afternoon, it was also nearly empty :)

Great selection of beers. Brugge was awesome! We had a small cheese, olive and sausage plate.

Really nice spot. Cosy, friendly and of course great selection of beers like all Belgium bars. Its a small bit out of the way but just has a really nice atmosphere. The staff are very nice and helpful if you want advise on what beers to have.

A wonderful small beer bar just off the beaten path in Bruges. I really love this place, they usually keep a good range of about 6 wonderful Belgian beers on tap but actually have over 180 different offerings in bottles including Lambics, Wild Ales, Abbey Ales and much more at all different price points. As others have mentioned its a quiet place with no TV's or blaring music. The staff is small but excellent, each of them know the selection well and can easily make recommendations. Red Rose is just about as good as it gets if you're a Belgian beer fan, I can't recommend it enough :-)

My husband and I keep coming back to this place again and again and again. This place is warm, cozy and romantic and the garden is lovely when weather permits. It's the perfect place to relax with a good Trappist beer and a plate of excellent tapas, they go really great with the beer. Next to that the staff & owner are always very friendly and most of all, they are all knowing about the beer they serve. Whenever we have friends or family over, we bring them to Rose Red. Everyone agree it's a wonderful and charming place.

This place has a wonderful selection of beers. My husband and I tried a variety and enjoyed them all. For food they have a few small snacks, but no dinner and their beer is on the higher side of the ABV level, so be cautious (but not too careful, it is a vacation after all!). It's a bit off the beaten track so the prices are great but it lacks a busy atmosphere. Comer here if you are looking for a tasty, calm and affordable evening.

AMAZING experience; one of the highlights of our trip through Belgium. My wife and I went for unique beers before and after dinner, on our one night in Bruges. We tried really interesting beers--most of which we can't get at home--at the recommendation of the bartender and our server. We ended the night with a 750 of the most well-balanced barrel-aged beer I've ever tried, a Belgian porter aged in Islay whisky casks. A real treat. Great selection, really delightful service, and comfortable, purposeful ambience. We'll be sending anyone here who goes thru Bruges!

Went here for drinks on our last night in Bruges. We had Belgian beer and wine. The ambience was excellent, with the whole cafe decorated with roses, hence the name. We were the only customers who came in with a kid.

Fantastic beer cafe! Nice atmosphere. Good service. Chimay Blue on tap(first time I've seen it on tap and it was delicious)! As well as St. Bernardus 12. Most unique perhaps was the cellar aged Orval. 6 months served at cellar temp seemed to be the perfect spot for my tastes!

We were in Bruges for a weekend and ended up spending every night in the Rose Red. The bar is cosy and has its own character. The waitresses were very nice and friendly, they took their time to advice us some beers according to what we wanted to try and it was nice to deal with people who actually know something about what they serve. We really enjoyed the time spent there and already miss that bar! :(
