Went here for desserts, coffee is ok, bitter and quiet watery. baklava is ok The places looks so authentic, cash only, does not have card transaction.

If you want to feel like you’re dining in your Turkish grandma’s living room, this place is for you. The cafe seems to be run by a very cute elderly couple. We got: Hot chocolate - very rich and not too sweet Baklava and ice cream - super delicious and again not too sweet Kunefe - freshly made, very mild, best part of our meal 10/10 would recommend and super good prices as well.

Good selection of breakfast options, from traditional Turkish breakfast to different styles of eggs, fruit salad and muesli. I went for the fruit salad with yoghurt and honey and it was fantastic! There was orange, apple, pear, kiwi, pomegranate, and strawberries. There wasn't a huge amount of yoghurt and it was a bit watered down from all the fruit juices but it was a great fruit selection for 200lr. The Turkish tea was also very nice. Unfortunately they misheard me and thought I'd ordered salep not salad so they also brought that, which to be fair was very nice, but was quite an added cost that I hadn't intended (140lr).

Great gozleme in a quiet casual spot. The gozlemes have a really nice flour taste with nice char. They're very well made. The kofte was fine too, but I'd just recommend gozlemes. Orange juice is squeezed fresh.

Cafe Safak exudes a distinctly traditional Turkish ambiance. The ravioli, though earning a commendable 8/10, would benefit from being served hot. Similarly, the flavorful beef stir-fry, while enjoyable, faced a drawback in its modest portion size; serving it hot would further enhance its appeal. Notably, the Turkish tea achieved a perfect rating of 10/10. Regrettably, the bread, assigned a score of 6/10, fell short of expectations due to a perceived lack of freshness. In summary, Cafe Safak delivers an authentic Turkish experience with room for improvement in certain culinary aspects.

We loved the baklava with ice cream! We came back for it a second time during our stay! She will serve it warm if you ask her to.

The best lentil soup in Goreme I ate. Very friendly staff. Price is a little bit higher than in other places, but it worth. Highly recommended!

They do their best. Friendly people, but the food was not good unfortunately. We like to avoid very touristic places and try to go to local cafes, but the menemen was very acid and totaly not like it should be. I'm sorry, but i cannot give more stars :(

Yelp
Thought this place was just okay. We came here for an afternoon snack and had 2 of their Safak Special gozleme pancakes - it's like a crepe filled with potatoes, onions and mint, but it really just feels like a quesadilla with potato inside. I've had other gozleme pancakes before, and the bread part on the outside didn't feel quite as fresh, thin, or flaky as other ones that I've had. The food took forever to come out too - fine for a snack if you're hungry, but I wouldn't make a special trip to come here.

Yelp
As it has been said, you should really be confident about your coffee to put a "best coffee in town" sign at the door. Well... It turns out it is BS after all, coffee was not good. Nothing remarkable aside from a not crowded place. Wifi is also a nice addition. They should work on their coffee, judging by the other reviews, ours was not an isolated case. We ordered also some food (see pics), which was slightly better, although not impressive. The kebab served as sandwich was at least generously filled with meat and some salad, yet not completely convincing flavor-wise. I heard the meat being fried on the back.

Yelp
The sign caught my attention and being the avid coffee drinker that I am, I had to check it out. I was disappointed. The coffee is average, although better than the Nescafé that most restaurants in the area offer. Upon sitting down we decided to get lunch. The menu looked great although they only had about three of four of the items available. Two of us decided in meatball sandwiches, which were pretty gross. They tasted like the frozen meatballs that you can buy at Migros, and not the typical homemade ones that the other local restaurants serve. The waitstaff was great and very attentive though. Our overall experience was disappointing, but we enjoyed sitting inside and relaxing.

Yelp
Chicken plate was EXCELLENT. One of the better meals I had in Turkey. Refreshing cold coffees too. A bit pricey having just come from the street food of Istanbul, but I get the feeling Goreme doesn't have the same kind of cheap options as the capital. Nice outdoor seating and a calm view of the street / treeline too. Good stop on the way to/from the museum or valley walks.

Yelp
We were intrigued by the "no BS, best coffee, Aussie trained" sign out front - imagine our surprise to see the place run not by snobby hipsters but by an elderly Turkish couple! They prepared our espresso and macchiato quickly but the coffee was terrible--the taste was beyond burned. Another surprise to learn that the bill was 12TL! The atmosphere is fairly pleasant despite the sign saying "We won't turn down the music, so don't ask us" (there was no music). Such a strange place.

Yelp
Do not trust the Trip Advisor reviews! We went to this restaurant based upon their reviews, and we were very disappointed. We tried the cheese and sucuk gözleme, which was nothing special. We also tried the kebab sandwiches and Adana sandwiches. The Adana was reconstituted and not made in the restaurant. It was gross. Service was mediocre and the servers seemed angry when we complained about the Adana and didn't eat it. My dad is Turkish and did not hesitate to question the authenticity of the Adana. I guess that people who don't know Turkish food well must have rated this well. I would not recommend it at all. There are way better places in the area!

Yelp
Funny place, really old guy behind the counter who I found super duper extra precious....until he burnt the espresso in my latte. But at least I got a break from the Nescafé !! Everything in goreme is overpriced compared to other parts of Turkey, after all, it's a tourist trap. This place opens earlier than coffeedocia (8am), and has wifi, so suck up that nasty aftertaste burnt coffee leaves behind and give it a go.

Yelp
My wife and I are wrapping up our trip here in Cappadocia and wanted something local before we leave. Our friend Google and tripadvisor pointed us to a few place, this being one of them. We had to look around initially because the sign is a chalkboard. They brag that they have competition winning lentil soup, but it was too warm for me to try the soup though I would have tried it if we were here for dinner. We ordered their şafak special, which was really good, along with a toasted veggie sandwich. Their food and service was really great and would highly recommend this place. If you like spicy...ask for their hot sauce.

Yelp
Incredible gözleme AND the coffee is to die for. American, Turkish, you name it! We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
We loved Cafe Safak! Also took their cooking class and it was amazing as well. Great people and the atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting.
