I had the chicken burrito bowl for lunch. The food was fresh and well seasoned. (They use ground chicken and fry it on the grill.) The portion size was quite large. Too large for me to finish but I’m sure many people could. The service was very good and the atmosphere was my style (perfect for people watching). I will definitely return but I’ll substitute the ground chicken for shrimp if they’ll do that. I returned today (4 months later) and had the fried chicken sandwich. Huge, crunchy, hot, great toppings and delicious!

Google
Food good and plentiful. Fajitas pastor excellent served with 5 different salsas, grilled jalapeno, grilled onion and fresh lime. Cafe and bar, open to street, generous use of fans. Homemade chips so so (greasy).

Google
The food was ok. The service was good. The prices definitely went way up. Same price as in USA and Canada. Ordered the beast breakfast with French toast, omelettes and some Mexican breakfast

Isabel M.

Perfect! The margarita was delicious. The shrimp tacos were perfect and that salsa morita was addicting (perfect spice). Our waitress was absolutely lovely. I came back twice during my stay.

My first hangover breakfast of our PV vacay was here. We chose it by chance and scored! ATMOSPHERE: The open-air joint has sidewalk tables in addition to the indoor seats. MENU: Mexican & American breakfast, salads, sandwiches, soup, pasta, tacos, burgers, coffees, smoothies, malts, ice cream, full bar. FOOD: House Bread with Salsa & Pico De Gallo What a waste of food as they brought this to every table, which we didn't even touch. Too heavy. Denver Omelette The omelette sure tasted good with my gurgling stomach. The breakfast potatoes were slightly salty and not as seared as I like. It also came with two hotcakes which were good. What a steal! Flamenco Eggs My spouse was wanting eggs benedict but mistakenly ordered this. He brought it to our server's attention admitting the mistake, and they removed it from our bill even though we were willing to pay. Thanks! Eggs Benedict My spouse's correct dish. The hollandaise sauce was orange in color due to the addition of chilis, but he said the English muffin wasn't toasted and got soggy. Pass. SERVICE: It's seat yourself, and it took a little over 5 minutes for a greeting even though they weren't busy. Another table ended up leaving because of no greeting, and only then did a male server run over to no avail. Our female server was smiley and friendly, but the male server was stoic but meant well. He was the lucky recipient of our order mistake, and even came over to us to ask why we turned away the flamenco eggs because it's good, and thanked us for the mistake because he got to eat it. Okay... OVERALL: Stick to the breakfast basics like omelettes, plain old eggs, and Mexican fare.

Google
Love this place!! When I first came I ate here ten days straight! Sopa is great, really fresh and plentiful guacamole... They serve iced tea and give complimentary chips, salsa, and pico de gallo.... The girls are awesome! Especially Nadia, Sophia, and Elisabeth! Food great and inexpensive... Highly recommend, and they are puppy friendly

We came here for breakfast and it was amazing! Homemade bread, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, huevos Motulenos! Everything was so fresh and flavorful!

Google

Yelp
La Elizabeth was so nice. She was cute and pregnant. Food was open late past other restaurants after the bars.. it was perfect. The tortilla soup was the best I've ever had my entire life. Super flavorful. We also tried the chicken tenders and fries, those were Yummy! They reminded us of the ones from Texas Roadhouse - extra crispy! We tried going here again but they were closing so they couldn't sit us. Plus it was a week night..

Yelp
Lovely spot with great service. It's on a hustle bustle corner but that was kind of fun. Got Chilaquiles and yogurt with granola. Everything was good.

Yelp
Fantastic breakfast menu with everything you could ever want. If you don't see what you'd like just let the waiter know what you'd like! Fresh ingredients and juices. Indoor and outdoor seating. Pretty and clean restaurant.

Yelp
This place is right on Olas Altas in the middle of everything. It's got great people watching as tourists and locals alike mosey up the sidewalk all day and night. It's very casual and the servers are very friendly. We enjoyed breakfast there one morning and it was yummy, including a giant cinnamon roll that was soft and warm. Just needed a little more glaze. We returned at night for their two for one hamburger deal. The burgers were delicious and the fries that came with them were piping hot and crispy. The special is daily for 6 to midnight. The patties were thick and cooked perfectly.

Yelp
This was our first time to try this restaurant. We have passed by it many times but have never stopped until now. It's a cute and clean place settled on a street corner. There are tables inside and on the sidewalk. We chose to sit at a table on the sidewalk. I ordered the breakfast burrito, cinnamon roll, and coffee. They promptly brought out the cinnamon roll. It was huge and quite tasty. It was brought warm and served with butter and jam. The breakfast burrito was pretty big too. It was loaded with egg, tomatoes, onions, avocado, and cheese. The tortilla was heated in a panini press. The dish had breakfast potatoes too. I ate the entire thing. My hubby had the three eggs with bacon and potatoes. It looked tasty too. The restrooms were extremely clean which is important in Mexico. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
First time coming, and I will surely return! The wait staff is fun and kind, the food, although seemingly "Americanized" for the tourists, is still delicious, and the feel of the place as a whole is welcoming. Not to mention it just being in a wonderfully accessible prime location with so much to do before and after. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Open air but covered for shade. Great cafe with great menu options. Had the sampler plate and it tasted amazing and was filling! The link sausage is super delicious! Fast courteous service. Prices are a bit on the high side but that is expected in the tourist zone. Free WiFi

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast. Had the poblano omelette and eggs. The bread/croissant were great and the service was perfect. 2nd time there and will be back.

Yelp
This is a popular place, and the food is great. Sat down easily without a reservation, and they gave us complimentary chips and salsa to start . I got the Al Pastor Tacos and a Chocolate Martini. Everything was great.

Drago D.

Yelp
If you want to eat butter instead of margarine, if you want squeezed orange juice instead of artificial flavors, if you want freshly made eggs instead cold ones..and so on.. just go somewhere else. I give them a chance twice, just because they have good location, but this place is really bad. Costumer service is not good as neither. I'm a traveler, I like to spend money when I travel, but I as well don't like to be disappointed, especially this much. Sending love to all, even them. Nothing personal.

Yelp
Ordered chilaquiles and to over easy eggs with beans, It was a delicious meal. The service was excellent. Got to meet Raul the owner, a very hospitable person. The seating was great, as the scenery was amazing. Thank you Raul!

Yelp
Staying at the Marina at a resort we were looking for a quick local breakfast on the south end of the Malicon and found this place on Yelp. It's perfectly positioned on the south end and will launch a wonderful days experience. The menu has many breakfast options and we all enjoyed our selections. I had a chorizo omelette with potatoes (that had pineapple in them) which was super amazing. The bread butter and jams accompanied our plates for the perfect side. Coffee was hot and the service was quick. Food was amazing and prices were super reasonable. Which lead to an epic day!

Yelp
Came here with my grandma to have dinner, excited I was finally able to get a vegan option. The bread was extremely flaky and not good so I tried to eat it with my hands but just decided to use a fork and knifes. Then when it was almost my last bite , I bit down on a piece of black plastic? Very strange, I told the waitress and she literally said nothing .... Didn't apologize or anything. So maybe a small training on customer service & asking the kitchen why on earth does the mushroom party have a thick piece of plastic? My grandma had the enchiladas and only ate the tortillas the chicken was dry and not good at all. I recommend the place upstairs not here !

Chuck D.

Yelp
Had the chicken and waffles along with a coffee and it was delicious. Great spot! Staff was friendly and fast.

Yelp
Food good service sometimes bad Came two days in a row and didnt get the bread While everyone around me did. How hard is it to throw in the dam basket and give it to every table

Yelp
Hey, if you are looking for an inexpensive, but delicious place for breakfast, look no further than Cafe San Angel. The place is no frills, but the food taste like a five star quality meal. Since we came in at 10 o'clock, I was more in the mood for lunch, so I decided to try the enchiladas mole. My partner had a classic scrambled eggs and bacon dish for our meals came out, they served complementary bread with butter and jelly, and a few salsas. A delicious start. Shortly Afterwards, we both got our meals and the presentation on my enchiladas was amazing. The taste was even more amazing. Instead of refried beans I did have potatoes and actually they complemented perfectly for a breakfast dish. One thing about the mole that made it better than most places is that it didn't have the bitterness that mole tends to have. My partners egg dish was also amazing and he had a side of oatmeal that came with a banana. Needless to say, his eyes were bigger than his stomach with either dish can't go wrong. Service was great. Prices are perfect. Definitely going to make sure I stop here for breakfast again.

Yelp
Café San Ángel is a decent, no frills corner sidewalk cafe that serves up pretty good no frills breakfast. The typical omelets, Eggs Benedict, and huevos rancheros are all there at reasonable prices. The taters are bland and need something. Luckily breakfast comes with red and green sauces plus fresh salsa to spice things up. The fresh bread is nice. The American coffee is surprisingly the weakest we've had in Puerto Vallarta. We needed something with more oomph to wake us up after a long night.

Yelp
We have walked by Cafe San Angel for too many years. This review covers 2 visits. The first visit we ordered Eggs Benedict and Pancakes with sausage links. The portions were good but the Hollandaise sauce and potatoes were too salty. Maybe 3x too salty. The pancakes were good and the sausage was outstanding!!! The couple next to us each ordered Chicken & Waffles... it should be called Chicken, Chicken & Waffles. Do on our 2nd visit we split Chicken & Waffles. The chicken was fried to perfection and the waffles were cooked perfectly! Splurge and get the real maple syrup. Do try a smoothie... don't sit next to the street. Tip your servers generously.

Yelp
Cafe San Angél is a beautiful street front cafe on Olas Altas right by the Malecon. We dropped by a few times during our trip and tried the burgers (delicious and kept us going all day) and both the Huevos Mexicanos and Eggs Bendedict (both decent too). There is an extensive menu and you can order from the lunch menu during breakfast, which is nice. They also have espresso and smoothies available, in addition to baked goods. The main reason for coming here is the patio and the prime people watching spot, and that alone is worth four stars!
google avatar

Noe C.

Yelp
3.5/5 Great Mole, good portion with tasty avo, beans and rice. Huevos rancheros we're cooked great however the sauce was a bit bland and tomato ish. The chilaquiles were tasty and refined beans too. Lemonade was great, refreshing and not overly sweet or sour. Complimentary bread was soft and warm, and came with butter and jam, salsas were good. Atmosphere felt like an open diner, not as cultural as other places but quick and assertive staff. They accept Credit Cards and it's easy to find. 30 usd for breakfast left me wanting more for my buck.
google avatar

Yelp
Really good breakfast place with lots of variety of menu items. Super pleasant and friendly waitstaff. Open air dining or inside tables available. Mexican breakfast dishes as well as classic breakfast plates. Variety of coffee choices...smoothies too! Always busy in the heart of the romantic zone-great position for people watching!!
google avatar

Yelp
We had an excellent breakfast here. It's a really good place to come if you're hungry in the morning.
google avatar

Gary K.

Yelp
Didn't even get a chance to eat. 3:00 pm, two days in a row, empty seats and we are told no seating until after 4:30. Lots of empty seats, but WTF? Host really had a case going too.

Yelp
I think we've actually been here at least five times, but now we're finally leaving a review. We've come here for both breakfast and lunch and will be back again. For this review, I'll stick to this particular visit, however, it's worth noting that both the breakfast and lunch menus are large and each item is created with care. We ordered a michelada and sangria to start. The michelada isn't too spicy or too tomatoey. It's nicely balanced. The sangria was STRONG which I sincerely did not mind. The shrimp ceviche was fantastic. Fresh cucumber, bits of pepper, and a healthy amount of avocado gave it a fresh, crunchy texture. The oils and spices served with it gave it a more complex flavor than ceviche usually has that really elevated it as well. For the entree, we split the Border Patrol burger (added bacon and side of onion rings and sweet potato fries). The burger was fantastic, really juicy, with fresh bread and an array of condiments to add. The added bacon was crispy which is great if you're into that (I very much am). The sweet potato fries weren't overly fried, so you could taste the sweetness still. They were cut like steak fries which helped maintain that flavor. Onion rings were in a nice tempura batter that was slightly flaky. I'd order all of this again in a heartbeat. Service is fast and upbeat. Food and drinks always arrive promptly and taste fresh from the kitchen. Special shout out to Raul who has been our server on most of our visits. The cafe itself is a small open-air space with a funky vibe. Seating is also available outside. Fun art is up on all the walls with the bathroom door being painted by the same artist as the rest of the cafe.

Yelp
Ordered the filet mignon tacos. The meat was dry, tough and no flavor. The corn tortillas were oily. Overall they should be called - tasteless tacos !!! Service was below average. Ordered a drink at the beginning and reminded her but after 20 minutes gave up and cancelled the drink order. Ambiance was super busy and crowded without sufficient servers. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Perfect little diner for a quick bite to eat. A full menu in Spanish and English was definitely very much appreciated as we were very indecisive. Decided to go with the sliders since we had Mexican for 7 days lol. The waitress was a sweetheart and always checked on us. This place has very nice outdoor seating as well
google avatar

Kevan P.

Yelp
Family run restaurant is amazing. Great service. Excellent food. Not pandering to tourists, the food is just good Mexican cuisine. Any place that serves breakfast all day is always high on my list. Great prices in a comfortable environment. Worthy of a visit numerous times during a vacation to PVR, it was almost overwhelming the number of things I wanted to order/eat.

Yelp
We travel to PV every year and Cafe San Angel is always our first stop because we know exactly what to expect year after year. Tonight our waitress was Elizabeth. It was super busy and she was spot on with enthusiasm, friendliness and professionalism. What an asset she is to this humble establishment. My son had just come in from Los Angeles. He remembered me going on about this little place so he wanted to go there for dinner. The menu is an array eclectic Burgers, traditional Mexican fare and even a Keto dish, keeping ahead of the trends! I had my usual Carmel Burger which I've tried to duplicate at home, with zero success. Not sure how they do the onions they way they do, but they do it perfectly. Best dish on the menu, in my opinion. Hubs had some kind of fried chicken sandwich concoction and my son ordered a Prosciutto sandwich with cheese and some other goodness. We all but licked the plates. Situated on Olas Altas in the heart of the Romantic Zone, Cafe San Angel is definitely a restaurant not to missed! And look for Elizabeth! She's the one with the big smile!

Yelp
A great location and good food! In the area on vacation we needed to find food and libations. This place delivered! The menu isn't large, but the place was packed for lunch. It wasn't all tourists either. There were plenty of locals. We sampled a few things, but the taco platter (fish and seafood) was our pick. The tacos were delicious and the perfect handful. This place made an impression on us. We'll definitely return if vacationing here again.

Yelp
We come here every time we are in Puerto Vallarta - hands down some of the best burgers you will find. The place has an extensive menu - so there is likely something for everyone here. My wife will not eat burgers anywhere else in town, however this is her go to spot when she wants a good burger. They have many options - today I went for the bbq sauce and grilled onion with cheese burger. It's on a perfectly toasted bun with fresh french fries. The wife was in more of a breakfast mood today and had the hotcakes with fruit. More than she could eat, it was very delicious. One friend went for the omelet with potatoes, she really enjoyed the taste and presentation. Her husband went for the burger with an egg on top of it, he was also very happy. We enjoyed a side order of sweet potato fries - they slice them like chips and serve them hot and fresh. We really like this place and will be returning regularly.

Yelp
Very yummy food with great service. Elizabeth was very nice waitress. Came here for first meal in Mexico and was very happy with experience. In great area as well. Many places to go and many gays around. Enjoyed every minuto

Yelp
Solid three stars. If you come here it is probably to sit outside and have some drinks as you people watch. That said the drinks are decent, I would stick to beer or margaritas though. As for the food, I tried the fajitas and they were decent, but lacked any real flavor or seasoning. Not bad, but nothing I would crave and go back and order again.

Nick R.

Yelp
Ate there yesterday late afternoon, wonderful food. Came back today for lunch, got turned away because they were "too busy" even though half the tables were empty... interesting business model

Yelp
Best authentic food I've had so far!! Highly recommend. Great service!! 10/10 even went back for breakfast next day & the Chicken & Waffles Omg

Yelp
Outrageous prices. Had a coupon for buy one get one free burger. Ordered that and a coke and a beer. The price was $30 US.

Yelp
This restaurant is in a very convenient location. The staff are great. We got a table right away. I was expecting the food to be ok. But this is some of the best food I've ever had. I tasted my daughters burger and I was scrumptious. The fries were cooked to perfection. It's all such high quality food. Definitely worth having a meal here when in PV.
google avatar

Ronald C.

Yelp
This is an adorable cafe near the beach. It's eclectic, and the food is great. I had the Spanish frittata and my friend had the Chilequiles. Both to die for. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. I'd recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta.

Yelp
So slay. Elizabeth was amazing! Gave us so many recommendations and super friendly and kind. Highly recommend try the tuna ceviche and the tortilla soup! Sat outside and it was so nice.

Yelp
As a location, this place is great. Lots of people watching on the side walk (best, when you sit at the outdoors tables), cute interior with funny signs ("keep calm, this is the fun side of the wall" and some more Trump-bashing). The ladies who work here are very friendly and eager and the place looked nice, the menu interesting. Unfortunately, the food did not sit well with me AT ALL. I had just come from a week long stay in a little fishing village and thought I could try a burger in the "big city" after having had the most amazing fresh fish and tacos of every variety all week long. I decided on the Don Quixote Burger. It was advertized as artisan bun, manchego cheese and prosciuto and grilled pepper, if I remember correctly. It came without the cheese, but the rest was very greasy, the fries were dry af. I hardly made it back to my hotel before I became sick. And stayed sick for a whole day. Since this was the first meal of the day, I doubt it was something else. The burger killed me.
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambiance , ordered a burger , so bad lol , but have great deserts, that's what I will have next time
google avatar

Armando H.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I originally went here for breakfast. Their chilaquiles are great as well as their bread and butter. We did breakfast a couple of times then decided to eat the burgers here. We absolutely loved it. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast as well as burgers. Very great low prices. One of the best places I've been to while on my vacation in Puerto Vallarta.

B P.

Yelp
A good backup to my normal breakfast spot in town, ate here for the first time ever this trip. The servers and staff are wonderful I never had Malletes before..I don't know what they are supposed to taste like, but I ate them all. The Bloody Mary was okay but not the best. It feels a little busy on this corner, which is why I gave it 4 out of 5. But extremely good if you don't like lines like I witnessed at three of the other popular breakfast spots in the area.
google avatar

Fred D.

Yelp
Robust breakfast. Many options. A delightful outdoor patio to watch the sidewalk show. Granola, oatmeal, fresh fruit salad and chilaquiles recommended.

Yelp
Fantastic breakfast! I had the chorizo omelette, my wife had avocado toast with egg. Both were fantastic! Been coming to PV for years, this is my new favorite breakfast restaurant!

Yelp
My first hangover breakfast of our PV vacay 2017 was here. We chose it by chance and scored! ATMOSPHERE: The open-air joint has sidewalk tables in addition to the indoor seats. Decor is anti-Trump with piñatas of #45 hanging, signs stating "we're on the fun side of the wall", and even employee t-shirts stating the same. MENU: Mexican & American breakfast, salads, sandwiches, soup, pasta, tacos, burgers, coffees, smoothies, malts, ice cream, full bar. FOOD: House Bread with Salsa & Pico De Gallo - What a waste of food as they brought this to every table, which we didn't even touch. Too heavy. Denver Omelette - ₽105/$5.25. The omelette sure tasted good with my gurgling stomach. The breakfast potatoes were slightly salty and not as seared as I like. It also came with two hotcakes which were good. What a steal! Flamenco Eggs - ₽165/$8.50. My spouse was wanting eggs benedict but mistakenly ordered this. He brought it to our server's attention admitting the mistake, and they removed it from our bill even though we were willing to pay. Thanks! Eggs Benedict - ₽115/$5.75. My spouse's correct dish. Does this place scream good yes it does get the slides and fresh juice omg baby here smoothies is to die for

Yelp
After arriving the day before to Puerto Vallarta we were craving Mexican Breakfast. What a surprise the menu, they have both Mexican and American fare. Delicious, abundant, steak Mexican style with all the trimmings, very hot fresh brewed coffee replenished constantly and our waitress was patient and lovely.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
I'm really dissatisfied with the service, I was waiting 37 minutes to get my meal, poblano omelette to be precise, the waiter's excuse was they had a bigger table to take care of it first, I arrived before the big party and also arrived 10 minutes before a guy that ordered breakfast similar to mine and he got the food 15 minutes before me. So I patiently waited for my meal that honestly asked one of the waitresses to cancel my order but then she said that the omelette was ready, fine, I accepted the order then I asked for the bill when this rude waiter questioned my tip which it was about to be zero but then I thought 10% would be ok due to the lack of service. He then got upset and started to talk to the customer that got the food before me making feel uncomfortable or at least that was his purpose. THATS NOT HOW YOU TREAT A CUSTOMER. If you have s bigger order take care of the small orders first, it's not that difficult. The food was decent but I'm not coming back.

Yelp
Awesome place! Good food, big burgers and great prices. 2x1 cheeseburgers from 6-9. Limited time. Check it out!
